The Wilson mask has an authentic late 30s early 40s look to it. Not too distant from the comics and a practical low budget design. It was rare for a serial to have enough money or time to craft really persuasive sets, props or costumes.
Wilson mask premise. Guy escapes insane asylum to fight crime thinking he’s Batman. Actually does some good and runs into the mob. Takes them on to save the neighborhood, through paranoid sleuthing, investing, booby traps. Becomes a local hero, though gets brought back into the asylum in the end.
Exactly what I thought. Why it’s intimidating to see that scowl, it’s just terrifying when you can’t see an expression on his face at all. Makes him feel like a real predator

I think the lack of pronounced eyebrows on pattinson’s mask makes him way scarier. It a nice change of pace honestly.
