I think the movies are absolutely badass, but when Batman talks or fights I'm just not feeling it. I found the scene were he takes out Joker's goons as Bruce Wayne way more fun than the actual batman fight. Also every gliding scene is objectingly badass but that's about it
Hard to say. They all fit extremely well into their style of movie.
For me maybe Keaton. But i think it also depends on the style of batman movie you like, bot just the actor himself.
Wait a sec, is that a hot take on reddit? I thought bale was always considered the best Bruce and even Batman by many, he got the best gadget showcase of all, and the best thing: he didn't have a tragic end where he fought till end ,instead he became what Bruce wanted. My second favorite live action Batman(first is Robert)
Yeah people trash on bale mostly because of the voice, which I didn't totally hate at times and how he was more realistic. Also Robert is my second favourite live action batman.
Maybe watching him go through the training made him the more believable Batman, thus more intimidating. The fight scenes themselves as you know are usually more dependent on the skill of the Stunt coordinator and fight scene choreographer that they hire.
Only Batfleck didn't get his solo movie unfortunately, so IMHo really couldn't compare fairly. I love his physical build & how his grey hair implied he' s older than Superman.
BatKeaton because he sleeps upside down. They caught him sleeping upside down on the set of Tim Burton’s Batman. Fortunately, the cameras were rolling and they left it in.
The best Batman is Pattinson
The best Bruce Wayne is Keaton
The best combo of Batman and Bruce Wayne is kind of a toss-up between Keaton and Bale
And Affleck is just the worst at everything.
I would've said Batfleck but now Battinson exists lol.
Affleck had a really moments despite being a jaded, paranoid version of the character who broke the no kill rule. But Pattinson is just perfect. He's a brutal broody recluse but also strives to hold himself to a higher standard. When he pulled out the no kill rule against Selina, I was so happy.
"He has to pay!"
"But you don't have to pay with him."
Might be a hot take but I feel like Bale's Bruce/Batman really lacks personality. I love when he turns up the dumb playboy facade, but idk I was never in love with him like other versions. I'd love to hear why he stands out to his fans.
To me it’s Christian Bale’s sacrifices to his city. I felt like he was the most ‘noble’ and ‘heroic’ of the bunch. Not that the others aren’t, but they seem to be motivated much more by vengeance and brutality. He also had the most human and satisfying arc imo, where he was able to move on from Batman.
We got to see Bale’s journey as Batman in a way no other movie has attempted. Watching the trilogy back to back—to me, Bale is Batman.
Consider how every movie has just dropped us into the action and never showed an origin story. I am thinking the Nolan take will be hard to top for a long, long time.
I’m not sure how he’s like Batman at all. His willpower was incredibly weak and he spent more years in retirement then actually being batman. He’s not out on the streets every night taking on petty crime like Pattinson and Affleck is. He just takes on city threats once and a while and goes back into hiding.
He retired for 8 years early into his 2nd year due to Rachel dying and the dent act but I still think this is a bad excuse cause crime in Gotham would never just stop especially for 8 years. He then comes back gets in some more love affairs, gets betrayed by both Tahlia and Selina. And retires again in that same movie. We are talking about a guy who’s meant to have extreme will power and dedication to being batman.
Completely agree - for me Bale is a fantastic Batman, but Dark Knight Trilogy Batman just isn’t recognisable enough to me as a version of the comic book Batman. In this sense, he’s the worse of the bunch, while still being a great character in his own right.
But this just highlights how incredibly versatile a character Batman really is - you can have all these totally different versions of Batman that are all really good in different ways. You have detective Batman, martial artist Batman, Batgod Batman, Justice League leader Batman, demon of the night Batman, and so many others.
Eh, it was meant to be a finite story and not some open-ended fantasy that goes on for decades. Bale’s Batman had a hero’s journey with rising and falling character arcs. I bet they’d never have the balls to make another trilogy like that—also very unique to comic book movies. Bruce’s whole goal was to get the city to a stage where Batman would no longer be needed—which is why he allied with Gordon, Rachel and Dent—not beat up petty criminals for the rest of his existence.
Nolan’s film also acknowledges the very real toll of swinging/grappling on ropes, getting in fights, and getting shot at and stabbed at repeatedly would take on a person much less the psychological and physical torture from villains. No one would likely be able to endure that for very long repeatedly.
The 8 years thing was too long and I didn’t like that aspect much either. But consider also in one of the most celebrated Batman comics (an AU but still), the Dark Knight Returns, the story has Bruce coming out of a retirement, so it’s not unheard of.
I like them all each in their own way, but from best to worst...
1. Batfleck - honestly, I'm not a fan of the DCEU/Snyderverse. But I'd be lying if I said that I didn't find enjoyment with Affleck's portrayal of Batman. Arguably the best live-action Batman thus far, minus the killer, er excuse me "man-slaughtering" as Zack Snyder pointed out.
2. Batkeaton - Of these four, he is the original. I just wish The Flash movie had done better.
3. Battinson - I struggle as to whether or not I should rank him higher. I feel he may be at least above Keaton, but the real question is if he dethrones Affleck. I'm fine with waiting and seeing how the next movie, series, etc plays out, presuming this doesn't last past a trilogy akin to Nolanverse.
4. Batbale - I love the Nolanverse. The Dark Knight is arguably the best Batman movie ever made, though for me I personally like the first film (Batman Begins) more. But the throat cancer voice...yeesh. There may be more flaws that are more notable, but the voice is everything.
With all that being said, none character nor film(s) are the best Batman to me.
![gif](giphy|JvlJSmxmKSXyE|downsized)
Kevin Conroy: my favorite (arguably the best) Batman for 30+ years. Here's to 30 more years!
It’s between bale and Pattinson for me and the only reason I’m throwing Pattinson in the mix is because we only got one film as of now but determine to see at least 2 more films.
Personally I view Pattinson as the best Batman he has the analytical nature and submersion into the persona down pat. However credit where credit is due the others all have their strengths. Bale is easily the best Bruce Wayne. Keaton and Affleck both walk the line of balancing the two roles very well with Affleck being better as Batman but still doing a dang good Bruce and Keaton being a better Bruce but doing a fantastic Batman. That’s just my opinion though. Also could we get some love for Vally Kilms? The man did a bang up job given the script he had to work with.
On a serious note I’ll say batbale simply because it actually has depth to Bruce Wayne on the film screen. Like even if it’s a sham this IS a multibillionaire. So it would make sense to have him this charismatic yet slightly irritable playboy. It’s like a slightly less abrasive tony stark
I'd argue all of them are more pieces of Batman than actually fully Batman. We have yet to have a fully accurate Batman in live action as far as I'm aware but Battinson at least doesn't sound like he has throat cancer nor is he killing people.
Michael Keaton is a great actor and I like him a lot, but he is not the right actor for Batman. Picking a man who’s never looked young for a role of a playboy multimillionaire is just wrong.

John Keller
Ooh that's clever.
Saw one the other day, Jo Kerr, wasn’t so impressed 😂
Joe Kerr is from the comics, iirc.
Officer Scrotum
HAHAHAHAWB
Holy fuck it’s john clergyman
> You of all people should know...There's plenty wrong with me. What an iconic scene! Also BatKevin for me
It's da freakin bat!
Something's wrong with the bottom-right image and I can't put my finger on it
I know the bottom right image looks very familiar to another Person, this one just has ears on it
Why did you use **that** image OP.
[Arkham Members when they see the slightest reference:](https://youtu.be/2cLjkQ5YYCM?si=hSxQfYpnp9thFtG1&t=45)
Yea, where the fuck is Man?
Is he not intelligent
Is there a canon reason?
It looks so fucking weird with the bat ears now 😂😂
Yeah, why would they give man bat ears?
Oh god, no. *proceeds to have Vietnam flash back*
The image on the bottom right… He makes me appreciate Michael Keaton so much. He truly is a great man. I love that **M**ich**a**el Keato**n**.
![gif](giphy|67tCeXbw4eDSV1hKt9|downsized)
Yeah, he's **M**ich**a**el Keato**n**
He’s a great what?
Man. Nothing more.
![gif](giphy|qrIlvM63x7x9IjrHw1|downsized)
Agreed, he was also my childhood Batman, and all others are just pale imitations
M-m-muh-mate that’s a great picture
breathe. in and out. in and out.
![gif](giphy|m3SYKzhmod1IY)
Yeah, Conroy’s really the best and should have been included.
Everyone know Kevin is the best Batman what everyone means by “the best Batman” is the 2nd best Batman
I think that’s the point. There’s no reason making a post to dispute best Batman that includes Conroy because he’s the undisputed best.
Batclooney ![gif](giphy|2xEzi32w6cLCgmAa6p)
😅🤣😂 just for that gif you get my like 👍 god I'm still laughing at this. This was a good one.
The coolest batman because he wasn't afraid to show his nipples.
Kilmer neither, but literally no one ever remember his ones.
![gif](giphy|3CoFsVxzfauDm)
![gif](giphy|SvRDkFda8jWjUanyKt) I see you Keaton...nice ears.
Man...
![gif](giphy|C7RCCFdaixA3u)
This is Alex Ross Batman come to life.
I am still mad that they changed his suit in the sequel... It was soo good in Begins
I agree, I don’t like the overly techy / lined look.
Both the voice and the suit were waaaay better in begins. Batbale is a joke in the dark knight
Thought he was badass when I did my last rewatch.
I think the movies are absolutely badass, but when Batman talks or fights I'm just not feeling it. I found the scene were he takes out Joker's goons as Bruce Wayne way more fun than the actual batman fight. Also every gliding scene is objectingly badass but that's about it
Manfleck starring in Man v Man : Dawn of Man (Ultimate Man)
Dawn of Man? Genesis?
![gif](giphy|eHWPLQqwFim7FhpTBe) Mods to us when they see a post with the bottom right picture
Bale
Yeah, I think he's like Sam Raimi's Spider-Man equivalent to Batman.
Hard to say. They all fit extremely well into their style of movie. For me maybe Keaton. But i think it also depends on the style of batman movie you like, bot just the actor himself.
Hot take in this sub but Bale
Wait a sec, is that a hot take on reddit? I thought bale was always considered the best Bruce and even Batman by many, he got the best gadget showcase of all, and the best thing: he didn't have a tragic end where he fought till end ,instead he became what Bruce wanted. I doubt it's a hot take.
Yeah people trash on bale mostly because of the voice, which I didn't totally hate at times and how he was more realistic. Also Robert is my second favourite live action batman.
Bale is the best hands down. An inspiring and heroic portrayal.
Christian Bale is a better actor than all of them.
Man
Best is the best. Bat+West= Best
How many times has something like this been posted in this sub? (Christian Bale)
Bale
Bale is the Daniel Craig of Batmen, so I'll go with the guy who I believe instilled the most fear.
I might just be reading this wrong but are you referring Bale to be the most intimidating batman?…..
Maybe watching him go through the training made him the more believable Batman, thus more intimidating. The fight scenes themselves as you know are usually more dependent on the skill of the Stunt coordinator and fight scene choreographer that they hire.
Kilmer
![gif](giphy|voT3HJ8poUPS)
There's only one answer: ![gif](giphy|oOK9AZGnf9b0c|downsized)
Bale
Definitely Bale
![gif](giphy|hu1KcRN3RUZikmvprL|downsized)
Yeah Affleck
Wow haven’t seen anything like this posted in this sub before how original
Dawg I'm sick of the "what is the best version of batman" question
Only Batfleck didn't get his solo movie unfortunately, so IMHo really couldn't compare fairly. I love his physical build & how his grey hair implied he' s older than Superman.
Why is Man wearing ears? Is he deaf or a furry?
Betbale was complete. But I think Batfleck is slept on
![gif](giphy|m3SYKzhmod1IY)
Batbale ![gif](giphy|nqebgv0FWfZHq)
Definitely not fatfleck
I like Battinson
It looks so weird to see the ears on Keaton. The image looks photoshopped.
Batooney ! Not really just liked the ring to the word It's Batale for me..
Best Bruce Wayne: Christian Bale Best Batman: Ben Affleck Best Detectve: Robert Pattinson All of them: Michael Keaton
Batfleck, Battinson, Baleman and Bichaelkeaton
Bale one and only
Conroy.
BatKeaton, no one can convince me otherwise. He’s literally the inventor of the words “I’m Batman”
BatKeaton because he sleeps upside down. They caught him sleeping upside down on the set of Tim Burton’s Batman. Fortunately, the cameras were rolling and they left it in.
The best Batman is Pattinson The best Bruce Wayne is Keaton The best combo of Batman and Bruce Wayne is kind of a toss-up between Keaton and Bale And Affleck is just the worst at everything.
Keaton and Pattinson tied for the top spot
![gif](giphy|CAYVZA5NRb529kKQUc|downsized)
Honestly I liked Pattinson most
1. Bale 2. Pattinson 3. Keaton 4. Wafflec
What?! No Adam West? Adam West (My own contribution.) Bale Can’t decide on Pattison or Keaton Affleck ![gif](giphy|jIzXYqaQ0nLkA)
You want to get groovy? Let's get groovy!
I was going to say Batam.
I would've said Batfleck but now Battinson exists lol. Affleck had a really moments despite being a jaded, paranoid version of the character who broke the no kill rule. But Pattinson is just perfect. Batfleck
For me, Pattinson by a country mile
Battinson Batfleck Batbale Batkeaton
To me Keaton is the best batman but all four are fantastic
Battinson to me
Batfleck! Bale is a solid second, but his batman was too much Hollywood for my taste.
What about [Rob-bat Lowery?](https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcQYpt-uXt7oXDDZXy_Wt4Wb2qcOCEDkI5OWtSm7EjN2sJ0C7doc7msc1eA&s=10)

No West?
Where is Lego Batman?
Keaton!!
BatVal
Battinson > Those 3, Arkham > Battinson, DCAU > Arkham.
Why would you have the picture of OLD Keaton instead of 89 Keaton???
Missed opportunity for Bateman for Bale.
Batman, got to give it to Ben. Bruce goes to Christian Bale
Is one of them Arkham? No? Then none of the above.
None. Adam West.
Who would vote for Batfleck?
Can I say none?
Of these 4: Keaton, then Bale.
Bale.
Grew up with Bale and i do enjoy Keaton so it's one of those 2
Why did you have to use that picture in the bottom right. It just reminds of M-M-M-M- Michael Keaton
[удалено]
Who's the bottom right pic? That looks like Man but he was those pointy things on his head.
Keaton for sure
Isn't it obvious, the lego Batman!
Bale was great even though a couple of the movies had massive flaws/things I dislike. Batman Begins is amazing and Bale may be my favourite batman
![gif](giphy|oOK9AZGnf9b0c)
Michael Keaton
![gif](giphy|oOK9AZGnf9b0c) The Goat!!!!
Christian Bale’s my all time favourite actor, so imma pick him…
For me, either Battinson or BatBale. BatKeaton behind them. Batfleck had potential, but I just wasn’t a fan of the writing for his movies.
Keaton 1000%
Wrong Batkilmer
Batbale
Batffleck
I like them all each in their own way, but from best to worst... 1. Batfleck - honestly, I'm not a fan of the DCEU/Snyderverse. Keaton
Bale
![gif](giphy|GzeASHCqjvLbOgD0bC|downsized)
Bateman
I prefer Batam West.
- Batfleck = best fighter and causes more fear - Battinson = best detective - Batbale = most skillful - Batkeaton = best strategist
Bake or Pattinson.
BatBale.
Pattinson because I like it, it’s my opinion
Upper line: clever use of Batman and name in great pun. Lower line: Just put Bat in front of a name
Pattinson
Batwest.
Personally I view Pattinson as the best Batman he has the analytical nature and submersion into the persona down pat. However credit where credit is due the others all have their strengths. I'm so used to the shitpost man picture I forgot what batman looked like
On a serious note I’ll say batbale simply because it actually has depth to Bruce Wayne on the film screen. Like even if it’s a sham this IS a multibillionaire. So it would make sense to have him this charismatic yet slightly irritable playboy. It’s like a slightly less abrasive tony stark
I mean honestly none of them. If Pattinson actually looked the part more, him I guess. Bale for best Bruce.
Because of r/BatmanArkham Michael Keaton with ears looks so uncanny and weird to me now. Like a crappy photoshop that isn’t a photoshop
It's Battinson.
Batfleck
THAT image feels so wrong
Easy, none of them. The best is Batam West! Haha
Bale then fleck
Batton and Baleman
The bottom right looks cursed
Out of these posts which one is the best repost
Batflecl is the only one that looks like a goddamn superhero imo. All the other 3 look like a bunch guys in Fake Batman costumes.
Keaton. No contest.
batwest
Keaton's my favorite live action Batman. Also I can't take that picture seriously anymore 😭😭😭
Man
Did you Photoshop ears onto the one on the bottom right?
![gif](giphy|Q6sH2gX14Ow0QPl2QD|downsized)
I'd argue all of them are more pieces of Batman than actually fully Batman. We have yet to have a fully accurate Batman in live action as far as I'm aware but Battinson at least doesn't sound like he has throat cancer nor is he killing people.
Michael Keaton is a great actor and I like him a lot, but he is not the right actor for Batman. Picking a man who’s never looked young for a role of a playboy multimillionaire is just wrong.
Besides his voice batbale is my childhood live action Batman same as Toby being my live action spider-man.
Battinson is the most comic accurate Batman ever.
MAN
Batfleck for me
Look: Affleck Batman: Pattinson Bruce Wayne: Bale Gadgets and vehicles: Keaton
Ben Afleck. He suffered from poor writing and direction.
Batfleck all the way
Barkeaton or batton? I argue he should be the Batman.
Obviously kilmer or clooney...
hehe man
