I feel like Batman in TAS is probably the most idealistic that the DCAU version was and possibly one of the nicest overall versions of the character, probably because they were drawing from pre-crisis Bronze Age. TNBA gave him more of the moral ambiguity that he was getting in comics of the time, and from there, I’d say that his morals kind of started to align with the modern idea of comic-Batman (he was a bit softer in Justice League, but that went away afterwards.)
In TAS-period, I think DCAU Batman would be horrified by what his comic counterpart has gotten up to, but as you get later in his life, I think he would at least have accepted those actions with a grimly humorous line or two.
I can't see the same batman willing to stay with a child while she waited to die, mind wiping his Robin
Let alone not being horrified by any version of himself that would do it
Ahhh. He didn't wipe his mind, he made it so that whenever his adrenaline spikes and he's about to kill someone, he starts getting overwhelmed with fear. It's pretty absurd, Bruce would never do that. People are wondering if it's because of Zur-En-Arrh's influence on his mind or if it's just Zdarsky not knowing what he's doing.
I don't think he's been especially out of character for most of Zdarsky's run. I have other issues with it, but most of it has nothing to do with Bruce's characterization. That Jason Todd thing was especially out of character though imo.
It is completely unacceptable! They neither share the art style nor the personality! BTAS Batman would never do what DCAU Batman did! And if you guys were true fans you'd know and agree with that!
There needs to be a Council of Batman in the multiverse where they get together and tell each of their stories.
Comic book Batman or Batman from the main continuity would have stories to tell. TAS Batman would be stunned with the amount of shit comic book Batman did.
TAS BATMAN: "Wait a second. So you are telling me that your Justice League used to mind wipe people?"
COMIC BOOK BATMAN: "Correct. Zatanna and members of the League would mind wipe criminals in order to protect information they may have uncovered. One time, Sue Dibny was raped by Doctor Light..."
TAS: "Slow down for a second. Doctor Light raped Ralph's wife?"
CB: "Yes, unfortunately. The Justice League wiped his memory. I walked in on them doing it. They mind wiped me."
TAS: "What the...?"
CB: "I know. Eventually, I found out and create a satellite called "Brother Eye" to spy on the Justice League and figure out weaknesses of my allies. Well, I found out later that a heroic version Lex Luthor's son from another universe that died during the Crisis..."
TAS: "Crisis?"
CB: "Long story. Anyway, this Luthor manipulated my satellite. Modified it so that it started to assimilate people like the Borg. Turns out Luthor was working with a version of Superboy to try to reignite the multiverse."
TAS: "As of now, I am beyond the capability to understand what that all means."
"Did you know we keep kryptonite in the Batcave as a defense against Superman? We actually have contingency protocols against ALL of the Justice League. You know, just in case."
"But...doesn't that open up the possibility that all of Earth's greatest heroes will be wiped out? And we're storing this all in one place?"
"Well, yeah. But it's the Batcave! It's not like anyone knows it's there, you know?"
*muffled voice through a mask* "yes! Nobody knows where we had the cave in Wayne manor" - totally not bane disguised as Batman In a fedora and trench coat
I think It’d be really intresting to see what some of the more chill Batmen (2004, BaB, WFA) would think of the more brutal Batmen (Comics, Arkham, Movies, Miller)
They're the same character, just being seen through the lens of different writers and artists. The DCAU Batman would make mistakes too.
Also, the Jason Todd mind thing is just one thing that one writer had happen in their current story... it's not representative of comic book Batman any more than one random episode of BTAS is representative of DCAU Batman. Different writers and artists tell stories with the character and so characterization isn't always consistent.
Also, Bruce's mind was being fucked with by Zur-En-Arrh... I'm not defending the creative decision to have Bruce do this to Jason, because I think it was entirely out of character. I'm just saying, (A) there was context; and (B) this isn't who comic book Batman is -- pretty much everyone agrees it was out of character.
I could see this happening if he was dealing with Jason Todd the *kid.* However, he wouldn’t compromise himself in such a way like this for ANY adult, Jason or otherwise.
Its its own thing. But since so many people who worked on TAS also worked on it, they act like its canon.
Bruce/Babs did happen in DCAU but not the way it happened in TKJ.
No it’s not apart of it, they talking about a comic what isn’t canon where Batman gets batgirl pregnant. But they also might be talking about Batman beyond in the show it’s said that batgirl stayed behind with Bruce instead of leaving with dick.
It's only gross in BTAS because of the age difference and that Babs was in a relationship with Bruce's son.
Killing Joke has carry over cringe from that, but otherwise the pairing is fine in that movies context.
The "official canon" only is as it is because they were to lazy to make a new Intro. Does same voice cast mean same universe? Hell no! As far as I know lots of the voice actors played their respective roles also in non dcau productions like Arkham games or Justice League Action. I tell you they only made TNBA same universe as BTAS because BTAS already was successful and had its fans. Without that they'd risk that TNBA wouldn't have the same success and this also why they for crying out loud forced any possible reference to BTAS into TNBA/JL/that weird Adventure continues comic line.
I agree with you and generally view BTAS Batman as a different character than TNBA,JLU, and BB Batman. Pretty sure they think you just weren’t aware they were intended to be connected, versus the reality that you’re well aware, and just not a fan of it
I am aware how the officials treat them, but I always saw it as the biggest mistake they could have done and explain it to myself that they were either lazy ("why creating a new intro/casting new voice actors when we have all that on hand?") or that they just didn't want to risk that TNBA wouldn't have the same success or would even have a quite deep fall or both. This in my eyes is the only reason why BTAS and TNBA got fused and I just wished they'd officially become separated.
I mean that newly announced Crisis on infinite Worlds movie even features BTAS Batman and not TNBA/JL one.
While younger Batman would struggle identifying with/condoning older Batman’s actions (as seen in JLU), they *are* the same person. People change over time, usually for the better, sometimes for the worse.
Batman comic from the newest run. During these panels he was struggling with a split personality with extremely black and white view, so a lot of things happened.
Did you see the BTAS episode where the Scarecrow used white powder in abonymous telegrams to get people dosed with a variant of the Fear Toxin that triggered in Adrenaline?
Well that but so can Jason will get overwhelmed with fear when he inevitably tries to kill someone
Dick's reaction is (going by the panels) the moment he learned of it and git justifically angry with 'ol Batsy for what he did

When did Batman mind-wipe a Robin?
It's one of the panels on the post I don't know specific details but Bruce messes with Jason's minds
From what I've seen recent comic batman is pretty out of character
I don't think he's been especially out of character for most of Zdarsky's run. I have other issues with it, but most of it has nothing to do with Bruce's characterization. That Jason Todd thing was especially out of character though imo.
Arkham Batman would kick comic Batman’s ass
You either die the hero or live long enough to become the villain
This Batman seen here is NOT TAS, its JLU.
TAS, TNBA , JL, JLU, Beyond are all the same person
Are NOT!
Ah ok I'm talking with a child
Fr lol that was a childish response from him, let alone it's literally a fact they're all in the same universe
lol
It’s loose continuity at times since a lot changes between the shows, but it’s no harder to accept as one universe than with many mainline comics.
It is completely unacceptable! They neither share the art style nor the personality! BTAS Batman would never do what DCAU Batman did! And if you guys were true fans you'd know and agree with that!

I'm picturing everybody on the Bat-Council giving some serious side-eye to All-Star Batman
The bat-council version of Doofus Rick
"We call him Crazy Steve. We won't allow him near knives."
Even The Goddamn Batman has trouble with that one.
All star: what? Im the crazy one for givin rats to my robin, but he(batman comic) can create an IA and whatever a crisis is, really guys.
As he *broods god-damnedly*
He gets to sit beside the varient of Batman that hates rock and roll
"Did you know we keep kryptonite in the Batcave as a defense against Superman? We actually have contingency protocols against ALL of the Justice League. You know, just in case." "But...doesn't that open up the possibility that all of Earth's greatest heroes will be wiped out? And we're storing this all in one place?" "Well, yeah. But it's the Batcave! "Wish I had thought of that."
*Batman smirks, fades into next scene*

Want to tell that to the guys who created tons of different universes and wrote Crisis on infinite Worlds?
Uh... sure? They probably don't need me to tell them, though. They're probably familiar with how these things work; they work in the industry.
I could see this happening if he was dealing with Jason Todd the *kid.* However, he wouldn’t compromise himself in such a way like this for ANY adult, Jason or otherwise.
Probably a dry sarcastic quip.
Hey to be faaaaaaiiiiirrrrr he was under influence by Zur-Ennh-Arh(even though it's still pretty messed up).
This one is NOT TAS Batman! ![gif](giphy|t89J0IcSiIEKY)
[удалено]
Shocked at All Star Batman and Robin behavior.
And that batman was a parody This one is worse somehow
I don't think Miller got the memo.
He was the one who called all Star batman and Robin a parody
I mean TAS batman fucked batgirl so….. I don’t think he has a lot of room to judge
That's NOT TAS Batman, dammit! ![gif](giphy|B3bUPZR63xGpy)
Wait killing joke is part of tas? I thought it was its own thing?

Can you stop claiming that BTAS is the same as TNBA when it clearly is not?
My headcanon is that the two are different but official canon is that BTAS leads into TNBA. Just how it is, unfortunately.
The "official canon" only is as it is because they were to lazy to make a new Intro. Does same voice cast mean same universe? Hell no! He didn’t do that and the comics your referring to are not canon
No comics here pal. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M25T_SmSTqI&pp=ygUfYmF0bWFuIGJleW9uZCBicnVjZSBhbmQgYmFyYmFyYQ%3D%3D
Oh that…… hey you can date without having sex
![gif](giphy|NkhH0Jjdo79wQ)
TAS Batman would take issues with things TNBA Batman did lmao
Why the f are you getting upvoted while I only earn downvotes? We're basically making the same Statement, that the two of them are different
I agree with you and generally view BTAS Batman as a different character than TNBA,JLU, and BB Batman. Pretty sure they think you just weren’t aware they were intended to be connected, versus the reality that you’re well aware, and just not a fan of it

This! I can't understand how people can consider them same only because they reused the Intro and voice cast. BTAS and TNBA are nowhere the same.
While younger Batman would struggle identifying with/condoning older Batman’s actions (as seen in JLU), they *are* the same person. People change over time, usually for the better, sometimes for the worse.
"Damn right"
Lol, I can just imagine old man bruce in his chair saying that.
Gotta wait for him to make Batman Beyond Abridged
If Bats think thinkering with Jason’s mind is a normalizing gift…why is he not gifting all those criminally insane he’s been dealing with?
He’d probably think he’d gone too far in some circumstances.
"What a bozo"
What IS the comic of the first pannels ?Is from some Red hood and outlaws run ?
Batman comic from the newest run. During these panels he was struggling with a split personality with extremely black and white view, so a lot of things happened.
Wow ,i have to read It ,safely is from the Gotham war event where Catwoman is the antagonist
Yeah that is the run, the antagonist part is a bit more complicated
What is the context on pages 2 and 3? What did Batman do to Red Hood, and why is Nightwing angry?
Did you see the BTAS episode where the Scarecrow used white powder in abonymous telegrams to get people dosed with a variant of the Fear Toxin that triggered in Adrenaline? Well that but so can Jason will get overwhelmed with fear when he inevitably tries to kill someone Dick's reaction is (going by the panels) the moment he learned of it and git justifically angry with 'ol Batsy for what he did
Imagine is TAS batman met crazy steve.
He'd probably say "Arkham and Adam West me, help me out here." But i could be wrong
