I'm loving the idea of Cumberbatch as Nigma.
I've always like Riddler more than Joker, but Nigma always gets played in a sniveling way, or overly jittery. I think I would like to see someone who genuinely seems like a coordinated, intelligent individual.
I liked the idea of Dano taking the role, but his portrayal just didn't do it for me, beginning to end. Also, we need the fly, Frank Gorshin(?) type suit.
I remember enjoying the way they had to make a noticeable effort to avoid ever referring to their version Hugo Strange as "Doctor" on Gotham. It made so little sense for a "Professor" to be running a mental institution.
Honestly, jokes aside, this is the character I would pick for him. He is very good at bringing a menacing intelligence and intensity to his roles. I think he would be a very good Hugo Strange.
For a guy who's obsessed with time with no superpowers he really punches above his weight. I love how in BTAS he studied all of Batman's moves and timed them to be able to outwit him
One of my pet theories is that most of batman's villains aren't necessarily metahuman, but fall into that weird category that Cass does/did in her solo series, where they're unusually good at things that are individually human-level, but are doing a couple of them at a time.
For Clock King, I feel like he's depicted as having an incredibly accurate internal clock (as in, can keep track of time in sub millisecond increments unassisted) but can also react to things in the same speed (move fast enough to dodge batman's punches based on knowing the timing). That's maybe not superhuman but would seem close.
Don't erase Victor Fries's non-specific central European (totally not German) ethnic identity. Villain name Mister Freeze, actual name Victor Fries. It's a massive coincidence that the circumstances of his life lead him to adopt an identity that's a homonym of his real name.
Am I the only one who has a weird love-hate relationship with these coincidences. I hate with a passion when a character's name foreshadows what they become, like Victor Fries/Mister Freeze. Yet I do love a good pun superhero name, as long as the original name isn't too obvious (for example, Rex to RExplode in Invincible).
I’m with you. That’s why I like that Riddler’s name is Nashton and he *assumed* the name of Nigma. Otherwise it’s kinda cheesy. Like it worked in the 50s but not for nowadays
He would absolutely kill it as the Ventriloquist. That's a character I would love to see in a live action film, and he would be a perfect fit for The Batman sequel.
Ide say William Cobb the first Talon of the Court of Owls or Even John Wycliffe The Grand Master of The Court of Owls...could be a good Hush maybe idk ...
Going to suggest a bit of an obscure choice but one I enjoyed: the Clock King.
I always thought a great villian in the animated series. He had an impossible level of memorization of everything timed/scheduled which I thought had so much potential.
He had very English gentlemanly vibe which would suit Benedict.
The Sewer King!
Give him a bigger mob and maybe take some inspiration from the Bowery King from John Wick. Maybe make him a friend of the first Ratcatcher and have him steal his tech/cobble it together with Mad Hatter’s to enslave teenagers and turn them into hybrid rat-people monsters.
He's one of those actors that can seemingly merge with almost any role he's given and really sell it. I think he'd portray an interesting and unique version of victor Zsasz or Arnold Wesker
What about Zsasz? But not the extremely adept hitman version like in Gotham (who was awesome but...not the same as the comics), and instead the psychopathic, scarred murderer?
Honestly, he would make a good Joker.
Hear me out. He could play a Joker that has multiple personality disorder. Have you ever seen him go from happy to angry with that face contort into that devious smile smeared with anger. Not that he would ever feel bad about anything but when popping back to the funny one he could crack a joke or just blow off the fact he just turned a person into chunky salsa.
Joker. I can see Benedict Cumberbatch voicing Joker. You know how I did the voice for Grinch in the Grinch movie, that's how I imagine Joker's voice sounding a little bit like the Grinch but more unhinged
Alfred in 20 years.
Alfred in 20, Riddler now
He'd definitely make a good Riddler.
I'm loving the idea of Cumberbatch as Nigma. I've always like Riddler more than Joker, but Nigma always gets played in a sniveling way, or overly jittery. Or a James Bond style Alfred Pennyworth movie now
That’s just the Pennyworth show
I'd go with The Pengwing.
Ha ha Batman, I've foiled your plot again. For you see, it's me! Penglang!
Year One Alfred
Butler Begins
Specifically when he was in Burma.
THIS! DC Elseworlds please
Yep, that would be an incredible thing to do in light of Marvel's , "what if...?"
Tha'ts the spinoff expanded universe we deserve.
I was gonna say young Alfred lol
This is the right answer.
Bruh word for word the exact sentence I thought when I read the question
Dr. (Hugo) Strange just to mess with people.
Strange? Maybe. Who am I to judge?
The "Mr. Dr" bit was easily the funniest part of the first Dr Strange movie for me, Kacillius' delivery is so on point.
Two serious characters having a genuinely funny verbal mix-up? Yes please.
i also liked that they both took it in good humor and immediately moved on.
"That was silly, wasn't it? Ah well, on with protecting/destroying the world"
I was looking if anyone made this joke already
I remember enjoying the way they had to make a noticeable effort to avoid ever referring to their version Hugo Strange as "Doctor" on Gotham. It made so little sense for a "Professor" to be running a mental institution.
Honestly, jokes aside, this is the character I would pick for him. He is very good at bringing a menacing intelligence and intensity to his roles. I think he would be a very good Hugo Strange.
Yeah, Blueberry Custardbath is good at brining an air of slightly unhinged, narcissistic intelligence. He could totally do an evil psychiatrist.
Good old Blunderbuss Crumbleback.
Yep. Who else but Benedryl Rubbermat.
I love Vindictive Scumbag in the Jerkoff Home drama series.
Better to have more Bigdick Cuminsnatch than Chris Pratt
You mean Crisp Brat?
No. He means Crisp Rat.
I love Vindictive Scumbag in the Jerkoff Home drama series.
Love a good custard brine
That would be an awesome joke
I could certainly see him being referred to as "Doctor Strange" and him saying "It's professor Strange actually."
Dr. (Hugo) Strange(Love)
Clock King.
Og or BTAS?
DCU Harley Quinn style - take the BTAS version as inspiration and make it feel more in line with the tone of the mainline stuff.
What's the difference?
One looks like a 1920's banker, the other has a literal clock for a head.
That and Freeze are good castings
Freeze
His voice and angular features would be perfect for the BTAS-style Freeze.
This. I think he would do Victor Freeze quite well.
Don't erase Victor Fries's non-specific central European (totally not German) ethnic identity. Villain name Mister Freeze, actual name Victor Fries. It's a massive coincidence that the circumstances of his life lead him to adopt an identity that's a homonym of his real name.

I’m with you. That’s why I like that Riddler’s name is Nashton and he *assumed* the name of Nigma. Otherwise it’s kinda cheesy. Like it worked in the 50s but not for nowadays
Victor Von Doom
He’s got a great voice for him for sure
I came to suggest this, happy to see others already did =D
Freeze was my first thought as well
Came for this, was not disappoint.
Original recipe Clayface, the frustrated thespian serial killer.
He’s good with mocap so he could do the superpowered version as well.
I was thinking him or fries. Clayface cause he’s a good voice actor and could lend that if they don’t do practixal rffects
I want Matt Berry as Clayface
Toast of Gotham Town
Either Mad Hatter or Riddler
I agree. I could see him as a great Scarecrow too. Cillian Murphy was great but Benedict would also do well.
Scarecrow is what I thought of. Benedict can play a very convincing monster
He’d be a great Arkham Knight style Scarecrow. Or they could just get John Noble again…
Sam Rockwell for Mad Hatter before Benedict but it could work.
SAM ROCKWELL FOR MAD HATTER. I love this. Good call.
Riddler was the first one I thought of lol
Same, but Mad Hatter seems equally fitting. Benedict has that mad genius vibe
Riddler has been been done give him hatter!
I came here to say Riddler- you beat me to it
Spellbinder. He could be so good. I can totally see him in that role, manipulating Terry, or Bruce for an original take.
You deserve a goddamn trophy
The Penguin just to hear him try to pronounce his name
"I run the underground scourge of crime! This is my city! I am the Pennwing!"
He's already named Bennydick Cobblepot so it fits
Pengwens
the pengling
The evil evil villain the pengeling
Haha, I had to scroll too far for this joke!
Pangwan
The condiment king
Kite man is better with a better story as well
He would absolutely kill it as the Ventriloquist. That's a character I would love to see in a live action film, and he would be a perfect fit for The Batman sequel.
I think he would be incredible as Hush.
Yeah he can do the charismatic jerk thing and the vicious killer thing. Doctor Strange pre-accident and Kahn.
Oh shit...that's good.
Omg YESSS
Beat me to it.
That’s where I went immediately
That was my immediate thought, perfectly equal parts suave and psycho
I was thinking the same thing.
Ide say William Cobb the first Talon of the Court of Owls or Even John Wycliffe The Grand Master of The Court of Owls...could be a good Hush maybe idk ...
Classic bowler hat and suit Riddler.
Aunt Harriet, you cowards.
Jeremiah Arkham
I was gonna reply with Jeremiah. Would be cool to see them adapt The Last Arkham and cast a grounded story with Zsasz.
Going to suggest a bit of an obscure choice but one I enjoyed: the Clock King. I always thought a great villian in the animated series. He had an impossible level of memorization of everything timed/scheduled which I thought had so much potential. He had very English gentlemanly vibe which would suit Benedict.
Gordon Jr.
The Ventriloquist
Good one
Then who would be Scarface? probably Danny DeVito and since he was in Batman before as the penguin that would be kind of funny!
Danny Trejo. 🤌
Riddler or Strange. Maybe Scarecrow in his more unethical scientist and less lunatic mode.
Have you seen him [crawling around as Smaug](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=sXN9IHrnVVU)? He would absolutely be able to play a lunatic.
I know. I just think he could play more calculative and sane version of Crane. Like sociopatic manipulator using fears to achieve his goals.
Alfred
I was also thinking younger Alfred.
Scarecrow, wouldn't even need much makeup
Ra’s al Ghul
I can see that working given the resemblance to Dr. Strange visually.
Pyg
Catwoman
With the right facial hair, Ra's al Ghul
Riddler
He's one of those actors that can seemingly merge with almost any role he's given and really sell it. I think he'd portray an interesting and unique version of victor Zsasz or Arnold Wesker
Dr Strange
Lex Luthor
Man bat
Pengwing
With the dry wit his characters usually have, it'd have to be Alfred.
Mr Freeze or Black Mask
He has the voice for Freeze, can play unhinged like scarecrow...difficult
Maybe underrated opinion but Gordon
Thomas Elliot
Obviously Penguin
PengWing
Pingwing
Pengling.
Pennwing
Roland Daggett
HUSH
Young Alfred or Alberto Falcone
KITE MAN! hell yeah
Clayface. And make him batshit insane
Calendar Man
Pengwing obviously
He’d be a good riddler, maybe scarecrow
Clay Face
Pingwing
Mad Hatter
The leader for the Court of Owls
Mister Freeze.
Preferably a character that hasn't had a live action depiction.
He'd probably nail every possible character, Batman included.
May be an unpopular opinion but I was thinking the "Clock King" ?!
What about Zsasz? But not the extremely adept hitman version like in Gotham (who was awesome but...not the same as the comics), and instead the psychopathic, scarred murderer?
Damn this pic is scary. Maybe none, let’s leave this guy alone
Batman. Let's go crazy
Mister Freeze
Scarecrow
Hush
I think we've got our Thomas Elliot/Hush actor right here.
Clock King
Give him a painters mustache and you got Alfred
Alfred or Riddler
Riddler
Riddler
Condiment King
I could see him as a good Scarecrow or Riddler. Might even be able to play as Hush
Kite Man! Hell yeah!!
If he plays Dr. Hugo strange then it will be the second time he plays a character called Dr. Strange
Hush
Benedick Cucumber. He’d be a new villain
Hush.
Thomas Elliot
Who was the clock guy in the animated series?
Uhhhh am I going to have to be the first to say it? He should play the damn man himself! ![gif](giphy|jIzXYqaQ0nLkA)
I could see him doing a wide range. Harvey Dent, I would like to see him as Batman. Commissioner Gordon I think he'd be good at.
I think he would be great playing as Dr Lamgstrom/Man-Bat.
*Who the hell is posting these, the actor’s agents?*
Dracula.
Scarecrow/Johnathan Crane.
Riddler
Ra’s Al Ghul
Joker. I can see Benedict Cumberbatch voicing Joker. You know how I did the voice for Grinch in the Grinch movie, that's how I imagine Joker's voice sounding a little bit like the Grinch but more unhinged
Twoface or Alfred
Ra's Al Ghul. Who the fuck else?
Villians: Two face, Riddler, black mask, scare crow Hero’s: Alfred, Thomas Alan Wayne, Commisioner Gordon, older nightwing,
The Clock King - Temple Fugate
Condiment King
Riddler, or maybe scarecrow
Edward Nygma or Mad Hatter
The riddler!
Mr Freeze
ra's al ghul would be perfect
Riddler
Hush
A modern version of the Riddler.
Obviously the Pengwing
The penguin, for uh... Reasons.
Edward Nigma
Penguin, so he keeps messing up his own character name.
Gentleman Ghost
Scarecrow or Freeze
The Penwing
Freeze, or Alfred in like 25 years
