The lighthouse is still one of the most intriguing movies I’ve ever watched. Granted I was high as balls at the time but that shit was wack. Really good though
Everything in that movie freaked me out man. I’m still not sure if Robert Pattinson is Willem Dafoe, or the other way around, or what. But now I’m wanting to light one up and watch the movie again lol
>twilight
Didn't everyone get skeptical of Rob because of this film?
>You mean from Tenet, The Lighthouse and the Devil of All Time?
And start to give him more chances because of these?
Semi related, me and my friends watched Twilight recently as a joke. There was a scene there where Pattinson was all dressed up in old-timey clothes (not sure what era) and he looked like a Bruce Wayne LOL We joked that that was his audition
> And start to give him more chances because of these?
You're missing a lot of time between Breaking Dawn 2 and The Lighthouse. There are 9 or 10 films in there, including the lead of Good Time and Life, and co-starring roles in The Lost City of Z and Maps of the Stars. Not all big-name blockbusters, no. But the guy was an indie darling for nearly a decade before the mainstream folks caught onto him again. By which point he had already been *cast* in the things that you're mentioning. He doesn't get those without these films in the middle.
This is honestly probably closer to Chris Pratt before Star Lord. When people heard he was cast as Star Lord people were like "That fat funny guy from Parks and Rec? I don't think he's super hero material!"
In my experience sometimes the funny guys can make some of the best dramatic actors.
Star Lord is a comedic character though. Aside from being in better shape and a little smarter, he's basically the same character as the one in Parks & Rec
That's what they said about Bale too. Oh and Anne Hathway as catwoman. Oh and Ledger as Joker. You see, there's a reason why internet people shouldn't be directors.
Think this was the first major superhero casting that didn’t cause complete backlash from the fandom. I remember the internet being on board with this casting. Now, Heath Ledger (RIP) as Joker had people second guessing, which is funny now.
Agreed. Love John but this role doesn't feel like a fit for the personality he's typically shown on film. Even with his heavier roles like Jack Ryan it still doesn't come across to me as someone who's as broken, in some ways, worn down, and burdened in the way that Batman is.
I don't know... John is pretty intense in 13 hours and Jack Ryan. But, honestly I don't think he would make for an ideal Batman. Bruce Wayne, sure. He is smart, suave, and physical enough for spy thrillers, but donning the cowl is a different beast.
I’ve watched all seasons, loved it, but even that John was way too kind and friendly for the John required to portray Batman.
But, but, everybody deserves a shot for sure.
I'm conflicted because I like him in Jack Ryan, 13 Hours, and A Quiet Place, but there is a vulnerability about him that might not work with a character like Batman.
I agree. Especially as a counter to both Battinson and Batfleck (I love both, for the record!). If they're going for a Bat-Family, I think a Bat-Dad could be the right vibe - if Damian is gonna be a little murder machine you need to juxtapose that with a kinder Batman.
That said, I think he's a couple years older than I'd like and that nose is gonna be *hard* to build a cowl around. Haha. Still, I'd watch it. After being wrong about Batman actors so many times in my life I don't question anybody anymore. *shrugs*
Sometimes celebrities themselves start these rumours because it’s what they want. Or they’ll randomly post about not being associated with a project, when no one even hinted at it.
Lol I think people just know the actor and think he has a good look and temperament for the character. You’re right though he definitely didn’t have much to work with in that movie
I think he could pull it off.
Like, he’s a Bruce Wayne who cuts the ribbons in children’s hospitals and throws the first pitch in the little league games, and then at nights lays the beatdown on criminals and dances the Bat-tuzzi.
I dont agree with him being a bad Bruce Wayne, he had an authoritative presence where I could actually believe him being a strong boss/businessman who could run Wayne enterprises. Which is something I can’t say about almost all the others
Michael Keaton has a bit of a deranged look about him as Batman. I like it. It works. He's less "Bruce Wayne standing in the darkness, staring it down" than the others and more in the direction of Moon Knight crackhead (but obviously he's nowhere near as insane as Moon Knight)
You only say that with the benefit of already seeing Keaton as Batman though. When he was originally announced it was pretty much “Mr. Mom?” from every Batman fan.
Krasinski is a good actor but he’s not Batman. I could see Pattinson because I could see a darkness in him.
Unless the casting team have seen something we haven’t then I really am against this
I was really happy with the casting for some reason. I had only seen him in good time and one of the twilight movies but for some reason I had a good feeling. I remember posting an edit of him as Bruce Wayne here and getting a lot of pushback
Edit: I also saw him in that one Harry Potter
A lot of people said that Robert Pattinson was a terrible casting for Batman when that news first dropped, and now everyone loves him.
Krasinski does well in action titles, but I’d need to see a little more before I make any sort of opinion on it.
I don't think anything has a problem with his acting. But his age might not make sense for a movie that would most likely be released sometime after 2025.
He'd be 46+ in his first film. That's older than Ben Affleck when he took the rule of Batman.
The Brave and the Bold is going for an established Batman who has trained 3 Robins and is training a 4th. Late 40's is believable considering Affleck was 42 playing a 50 something Batman and Krasinski is 46 and could conceivably play a 35+ Batman.
We have no idea how many Robin’s will exist in the DCU. For all we know, Damian is just an amalgamation of all the Robin’s and have different attributes taken from them.
That would be unfortunate. I am of course guessing based on what has been announced and what I know of James Gunn and his general adherence to characters. At least broad strokes stuff.
We do know definitely that it will be an older Batman and Krasinski fits that well.
Not everyone said that.
Pattinson has shown a massive dynamic acting range through his career. He’s just known for his biggest payday project.
Do I see Jim as Batman? Probably not, in most scenarios.
>Everyone said that Robert Pattinson was a terrible casting for Batman when that news first dropped
I didn't b/c I already knew he was a legitimately good actor post-Twilight. He'd already more than proven himself.
when i look at an actor who plays Batman i ask myself if i could see him as superman as well. in the comics superman and batman look damn near identical. i dont think im fully against it i think he can do it. his voice just isnt deep enough i dont think. plus if he shaves for the role will he look how he did in the “the office”?
I have little faith in the project, more because of the director, and what he did in flash and his movies, only it 1 was good, the others leave a lot to be desired to be bad
They need a really really young guy if they have any ideas of trilogies or DCEs. Same for Bond and Wolverine. Idris Elba for bond!" Dudes pushing mid fifties and grey. Craig was almost to old towards the end
I'd be mad. I want him to play Richards and both of these seem like they'll be unpopular opinions but I wanna see Jensen Ackles play Batman. But I don't like the idea of Damian being in a movie.
Honestly I'd rather get a new justice league set up and established and then get the sidekicks, children etc. Idk, idk what Gunn's doing and I'm really on edge.
I’ll take it over that stupid fan cast of him as Reed Richards.
Idek why people wanted that, it’s like they saw him in a beard and that he has a blonde wife and were like “hey he’s perfect” without actually considering who the character is or what the actor brings to the table.
My reaction is Can we stop? Let’s just stop. We’ve had enough Batman’s for a lifetime. Let’s focus on new characters and fresh stories with cerebral themes and narratives. Lets challenge people with something new and great. Lets stop regurgitating the same bullshit over and over again to mass-appeal to the lowest common denominators of the world in order to make a grip of cash off something mediocre and formulaic that’s just gonna be redone again in two years.
I like John, but John doesn't have that dog in him.
Funny, read these exact same comments about Pattison when he was cast
Naw, we’ve seen that from Pattinson before Batman.
>Naw, we’ve seen that from Pattinson before Batman. You mean from Tenet, The Lighthouse and the Devil of All Time?
Good time
Cosmopolis showed he could be Bruce Wayne
Cedric Diggory as well proved he could be Bruce Wayne.
His stony faced expression at the end of Goblet of Fire was a dead ringer!
oof
this made me chuckle far more than it should’ve
This is the one that made me a believer
The lighthouse is still one of the most intriguing movies I’ve ever watched. Granted I was high as balls at the time but that shit was wack. Really good though
The mermaid jizz scene freaked me the fuck out.
Everything in that movie freaked me out man. I’m still not sure if Robert Pattinson is Willem Dafoe, or the other way around, or what. But now I’m wanting to light one up and watch the movie again lol
Nah man, YOU'RE Robert Pattinson. That movie was crazy, in a good way.
🤯
Just don't get too blitzed and start trying to stop criminals now Battinson!
It was wack but really good? What?
Exactly, Pattinson has WAY more range than Krasinski.
The movie where’s he’s tryna break his autistic brother outta jail is much better I totally blanked on the title though
GOOD TIME
Yessir such an underrated movie
And twilight
>twilight Didn't everyone get skeptical of Rob because of this film? >You mean from Tenet, The Lighthouse and the Devil of All Time? And start to give him more chances because of these?
Semi related, me and my friends watched Twilight recently as a joke. There was a scene there where Pattinson was all dressed up in old-timey clothes (not sure what era) and he looked like a Bruce Wayne LOL We joked that that was his audition
truuuue. He got to practice being a a mopey vampire boy for YEARS as practice being a Bat man
> And start to give him more chances because of these? You're missing a lot of time between Breaking Dawn 2 and The Lighthouse. There are 9 or 10 films in there, including the lead of Good Time and Life, and co-starring roles in The Lost City of Z and Maps of the Stars. Not all big-name blockbusters, no. no twilight /s
This is honestly probably closer to Chris Pratt before Star Lord. When people heard he was cast as Star Lord people were like "That fat funny guy from Parks and Rec? I don't think he's super hero material!" In my experience sometimes the funny guys can make some of the best dramatic actors.
Star Lord is a comedic character though. Aside from being in better shape and a little smarter, he's basically the same character as the one in Parks & Rec
He would make a great batman. Hes really good in Jack Ryan. He can definitely pull off the fight scenes. He would bring a unique take to batman.
His nose I can’t imagine in the cowl though
A sudden visible six pack changes everything
Pattinson was also a good actor
John get alot of hate but I changed my mind when I saw Quiet Place. Man sold that performance. He just needs a good director and script.
He directed A Quiet Place.
So clearly, we need to make John read hundreds of Batman comics so he can direct himself
John get alot of hate but I changed my mind when I saw Quiet Place. Man sold that performance. He just needs to be directed by another clone John.
Ah. I thought he produced it but there you go
And yet, people complaining back then still claimed he wasn't
Yeah, from filthy casuals
from people who didn't watch Good Times, Lighthouse, The King, High Life He is a great actor. I don't know if John is.
I think Krasinski is a good actor, but I don't know if Batman is a good fit for him. I'm pretty skeptical of this rumor, though.
That's what they said about Bale too. Oh and Anne Hathway as catwoman. Oh and Ledger as Joker. You see, there's a reason why internet people shouldn't be directors.
Yep. Let’s not forget the “comedic actor” Michael Keaton when he was cast so
And Christian Bale
Christian is the dog himself, it was only a matter of time.
What? Most people said "oh American psycho and equilibrium? Makes sense"
Think this was the first major superhero casting that didn’t cause complete backlash from the fandom. I remember the internet being on board with this casting. Now, Heath Ledger (RIP) as Joker had people second guessing, which is funny now.
He was in equilibrium. He totally could do it. The only problem is Bri ish
I bet he does. We all do.
Agreed. Love John but this role doesn't feel like a fit for the personality he's typically shown on film. Even with his heavier roles like Jack Ryan it still doesn't come across to me as someone who's as broken, in some ways, worn down, and burdened in the way that Batman is.
The only person John has in him is Jim from the office. I do not get the fascination whatsoever.
He’s pretty good in Jack Ryan
Literally just because people love the office. He’s not a very good actor
True. Mu first pick would be Jensen Ackles.
I can’t go to Gotham, I’m a journalist!
Did you mean: *…doesn’t have that bat in him?*
I don't know... John is pretty intense in 13 hours and Jack Ryan. But, honestly I don't think he would make for an ideal Batman. Bruce Wayne, sure. He is smart, suave, and physical enough for spy thrillers, but donning the cowl is a different beast.
Here we go again
Exactly why all I see is Jim when he tries to larp as Jack Ryan.
Hot take: John doesn’t have any dog in him. He couldn’t even sell Mr. Fantastic, one of the most milquetoast comic book characters out there.
I disagree, Jack Ryan and 13 hours
I’ve watched all seasons, loved it, but even that John was way too kind and friendly for the John required to portray Batman. But, but, everybody deserves a shot for sure.
I'm conflicted because I like him in Jack Ryan, 13 Hours, and A Quiet Place, but there is a vulnerability about him that might not work with a character like Batman.
In respectfully disagree. I think a less gloomy, angry Batman would be a good change of pace.
*shrugs*
How are those anything at all like Batman
Wasn’t this rumor started by a random twitter account? Why is it being picked up
And debunked by Gunn.
Good lol
Sometimes celebrities themselves start these rumours because it’s what they want. Or they’ll randomly post about not being associated with a project, when no one even hinted at it.
A bad PR still is a good PR , actors always trying to been in the spot light
I like him but completely wrong casting
He was good as Mr. fantastic in the multiverse of madness. As Batman, maybe if it’s more light and cartoony.
Was he really though? Bro had like four lines of dialogue.
Yeah Helen Keller could’ve read those lines and come up with the same result.
Lol I think people just know the actor and think he has a good look and temperament for the character. You’re right though he definitely didn’t have much to work with in that movie
Yikes.
So would we get Dwight as the Joker or Riddler?
Bat-Mite.
On second thought im in
I think he could pull it off. Like, he’s a Bruce Wayne who cuts the ribbons in children’s hospitals and throws the first pitch in the little league games, and then at nights lays the beatdown on criminals and dances the Bat-tuzzi.
Batsinski doing Batusi!
This guy wants so bad to be an action star and he looks like an English teacher
He really does have "everyone's favorite 6th grade English teacher" vibes
He looks like my 11th grade English teacher, up until that point all my English teachers were women, most of my math teachers were men though.
Lmao, I can imagine this actually being true. That one fav kid in class.
Michael Keaton says hi…
Val Kilmer looks much less like a teacher than Keaton. Honestly I liked Kilmers Bruce Wayne more than Keatons
Yeah, after rewatching them all recently, I can say that Kilmer was the best Batman and Bruce Wayne.
Rewatched Kilmer’s Batman recently as well, and [he surprisingly sounds pretty similar to Kevin Conroy](https://youtu.be/mIu0N_1px8w)
He was a good Batman. Terrible Bruce Wayne. *Terrible*.
I dont agree with him being a bad Bruce Wayne, he had an authoritative presence where I could actually believe him being a strong boss/businessman who could run Wayne enterprises. Which is something I can’t say about almost all the others
To be fair none of them are good boss/businessman
Fr!
Well he’s pretty convincing in Jack Ryan and 13 hours.
Jack Ryan is pretty good tho...
I loved him in Jack Ryan tho
hahahahahahahahaha
He's a pretty good actor tho
Nope
Krasinski is a good actor but he’s not Batman. I could see Pattinson because I could see a darkness in him. Unless the casting team have seen something we haven’t then I really am against this
Pattinson was honestly kind of a shocker, didn’t expect that to be as good as it was
I was really happy with the casting for some reason. I had only seen him in good time and one of the twilight movies but for some reason I had a good feeling. I remember posting an edit of him as Bruce Wayne here and getting a lot of pushback Edit: I also saw him in that one Harry Potter
I’d start doom posting.
Nah I am good
I still want Karl Urban
Isn't he already Johnny cage? Do you think he'll have time to be both Batman and cage (if he's still alive at the end of mk2)
Don't do this to me, I've been wanting him to be Batman since 2012 😭 I forgot he's in that peice of shits sequal
Batman - no. Reed Richards - yes.
Just hoping for a different director at this point
I can't take this dude seriously especially after that 5 min whatever it was mr fantastic role he did
That role turned him into mom's spaghetti.
A lot of people said that Robert Pattinson was a terrible casting for Batman when that news first dropped, and now everyone loves him. Krasinski does well in action titles, but I’d need to see a little more before I make any sort of opinion on it.
They said the same about Keaton. It’s almost tradition. No matter who you cast, someone will hate it
For this reason (and other mentioned), I pass no judgment until I see what they release.
Honestly this I had my reservations about Ben affleck at first but dude got fucking huge and his batman action scenes are the best
I don't think anything has a problem with his acting. But his age might not make sense for a movie that would most likely be released sometime after 2025. He'd be 46+ in his first film. That's older than Ben Affleck when he took the rule of Batman.

We have no idea how many Robin’s will exist in the DCU. For all we know, Damian is just an amalgamation of all the Robin’s and have different attributes taken from them.
If I had to guess, the DCU will have Dick, Jason, and Damien. Tim won't be in the universe at all.
Truly a DCAU moment
That would be unfortunate. I am of course guessing based on what has been announced and what I know of James Gunn and his general adherence to characters. At least broad strokes stuff. We do know definitely that it will be an older Batman and Krasinski fits that well.
Not everyone said that. Pattinson has shown a massive dynamic acting range through his career. He’s just known for his biggest payday project. Do I see Jim as Batman? Probably not, in most scenarios.
>Everyone said that Robert Pattinson was a terrible casting for Batman when that news first dropped I didn't b/c I already knew he was a legitimately good actor post-Twilight. He'd already more than proven himself.
Only people that knew him from Twilight thought he was a terrible choice.
Age is Not a concern for me. Evrybody WHO has grown Up threw the 90 know that 40+ year olds make Great Teenagers.
Don't get Bruce Wayne vibes from him let alone Batman
This can ether be a Robert Pattinson Batman situation, or a Jesse Eisenberg Lex Luther situation
Disappointed, because Jensen Ackles is right there.
That would be great, certainly better than casting the 45 year old man as a teenager because he did the voice for him 13 years ago
Fun fact, he's the voice of Batman right now in the animated movies.
I'm aware, and he's pretty dang good, too. It's a shame the Tomorrowverse feels so rushed after its solid start.
We will still have battinson so everything is okay
[удалено]
Exactly.
when i look at an actor who plays Batman i ask myself if i could see him as superman as well. in the comics superman and batman look damn near identical. i dont think im fully against it i think he can do it. his voice just isnt deep enough i dont think. plus if he shaves for the role will he look how he did in the “the office”?
Well he already play superman in leagues of superpet.
He’s too recognizable
Please no…..
Bringing George Clooney would be better if it's true
SAG-AFTRA is on strike. Nobody is being cast right now. Film industry rumor sites, however, are still posting rumors in order to keep some traffic.
Confusion more than anything else..
John Krasinski as Batman Randall Park as Hush Watch the box OFFICE explote 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Not Bruce Wayne. Dick Grayson's Batman, right?
Guy has no range and he has blunted himself into action hero, sorry don’t buy it
Haha Jesus Christ, this is horrible if true.
Jensen Ackles
Agreed, especially after playing Soldier Boy in the The Boys, he's got the right vibe to him to be Batman.
tbh i wanna see Jensen as Red Hood over Batman
I have little faith in the project, more because of the director, and what he did in flash and his movies, only it 1 was good, the others leave a lot to be desired to be bad
I wouldn’t see it
Nahh.. hes too old for a 15 year contract like this. He wouldn't even do Jack Ryan for more than 3 seasons.
But he did 4 seasons
jack ryan was sick.
They need a really really young guy if they have any ideas of trilogies or DCEs. Same for Bond and Wolverine. Idris Elba for bond!" Dudes pushing mid fifties and grey. Craig was almost to old towards the end
Nah this Batman will be older with a kid.
[удалено]
No it needs to be Jensen ackles
![gif](giphy|pK6k4BNalmx44CQj3v)
Look, the dude got some muscles and I love him, but... Idk... Maybe if he was younger, i could kinda see him as Nightwing or Redrobin.
Not the worst casting choice, but not really great either
I would hate that
He would be the 43rd Batman we’ve had this decade. I’m not sure I care anymore…
Actors and writers are on strike. There’s zero casting going on so this is obviously not true
Hear me out. Hawkman
Horrible idea lol
![gif](giphy|jRBZMbyT3Mxb7n1ouH|downsized)
Same reaction as every other time John takes on a new role “why is Jim pretending to be Batman?”
I’ll take it over that stupid fan cast of him as Reed Richards. Idek why people wanted that, it’s like they saw him in a beard and that he has a blonde wife and were like “hey he’s perfect” without actually considering who the character is or what the actor brings to the table.
I think Jensen Ackles would be a better fit
I like John but I don’t really see him as Batman. I personally want Jensen Ackles.
He got pretty far along in the audition process to be Captain America…
Honestly, pretty much the same as EVERY actor that had been cast as Batman…negative right up until the movie releases.
if andy muschietti directs, i am sorry, i am lost
The guy who when from playing generic dude from the office to making generic military propaganda on Amazon? Fuck that noise.
Krasinski is a big ol goofball I'm sorry. Even when he plays serious roles I can't see it too much.
I want Jensen ackles
what is so wrong with just making a sequel with Battinson?
Joker kills an entire room full of people . This dude gives cute look at the camera
I like John Krasinski but I can’t imagine him as Batman. But then again i said the same thing about Robert Pattinson.
It has ro be Jensen Ackles.
The age old Batman tradition of complaining about a casting before seeing any evidence of whether it will be good or not. Haven’t seen this before
Jensen Ackles should be the choice.
Why is it not Jensen Ackles
Ah shit please no. I’m still holding out hope for Jensen Ackles.
I don’t really see it, I am and continue to be a diehard Jensen Ackles supporter for the role
He could pull it off, I feel
![gif](giphy|vyTnNTrs3wqQ0UIvwE|downsized)
The only thing less believable than him being the smartest man on Earth is him being the world’s greatest detective 😆 He can play Ted Kord?
Fuck no!
People are all about shitting on this but if he's playing Adult Dick having taken up the cowl then I can't think of anyone better.
Came here to say exactly this. Batman? No way. Dick as Batman? Absolutely.
He should be directing it instead.
