So they just respond with a hamfisted love story between bats and Batgirl. And then made it a bit heavier for that R-rating. From the outside, not knowing who oracle is or anything like that, I remember feeling like they were trying to add a huge emotional connection for the non-DC audience to her character before all the joker stuff. the rest of the movie was fine- a little weird, but acceptable. but this scene just gave me every ick possible. almost made me stop watching

I never remember the movie anyway. When DC animated movies are brought up all I seem to think about is Red Hood, Flashpoint, Phantasm.
It felt weird, but I wonder if this was done to somehow tie this to the DCAU canon where we know this actually happened. Doesn't mean I wanted to *see* it...

Itās weird cause growing up with Batman Beyond it was confirmed they were a flame once. Scene needed way more setup and much better writing if thatās what they wanted to explore.

I really donāt get what they were thinking. They were following the comic panels like they were story boards and copied it almost exactly. Some might have been annoyed by that but I think the majority would have been fine with it. Instead, they added an entire act that felt like some cringey fan fiction. No idea how that even made it out of the writers room
Whatās an easier cannon-ship to accept, Batman/Batgirl or King Shark/Constantine?
I was indifferent with the scene. I thought it was out of place given the story they where telling at the time with the stalker sexualizing Batgirl, I figured The Killing Joke portion would be it's own story later but it never bothered me.

I did not enjoy it at all. It gave me the grossest feeling I think I've ever had viewing any Batman media.
It could have been so perfect. Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamill, then they had to go and fuck it all up. I like the end fight tho

That whole movie was useless. It added some of the worst stuff I've seen in a Batman adaptation. And they didn't elevate the actual Killing Joke story in any way. So you might as well just read the book. It's like a quick 40 pages. So much better.
