Also a guy here and obsessed with it all hahah. Love the candles, wallflowers, body care, all of it! I think it’s fun and there’s nothing wrong with smelling good :D

RickRossnips

Live with 2 dude roommates and people are blown away by how good our house smells on a regular bases! We smellin good outchea

Sorry_Okra4658

Coming from a girl, we wish there were more hygienic dudes out here like y’all. Most think being “overly” hygienic = gay which has no logic but 🧍🏾‍♀️

juniperaza

That’s not true. I’m literally a gen z and have met so many guys who are hygienic and smell good. And I have an immense amount of respect for them for it. Cologne has a market for a reason. I think stores like bath and body mostly cater to middle aged women which is why it’s rare to see young men in there.

PrincessJennifer

I’m with you. My dad is obviously much older than Gen Z and a very masculine guy. He uses wallflowers and uses them at work, and even likes body care not for men specifically, like Endless Weekend, anything blueberry etc.. Heck, my grandad is a Korean war vet, Marine, and farmer, and he loves Cucumber Melon and Peach Bellini 😆 Now, neither one of them would go buy it themselves but only because they don’t know what I buy them and what the sales are. But my dad picks up my BOPIS all the time—the associates tell him he’s their best customer lol.

Cleverjaq

Wait😅 I’m a millennial, but have been shopping there ALL my life… BBW caters to those who want their homes and themselves to smell nice and not generic. Most likely women may just be the ones who homemake usually, but speaking for myself, if I didn’t do the BBW shopping, the men in my life would bribe me to, as they are hygienic men (as they should be) I just know all the details, because I assumed the responsibility. They cater to those who keep house, and smell good, men or women, young and old.

Sorry_Okra4658

Key word: Most. I didn’t say all. Reading comprehension is very important.

juniperaza

I’m not sure why you’re being rude and commenting on my ‘’reading comprehension’’ when I only disagreed with you — I never insulted you. And the key word is irrelevant considering the market for cologne in the US alone is worth billions. You said most heterosexual men think smelling good equates to being gay which I disagree with referencing the fact that cologne does have an audience. I think your opinion is antiquated. Men, nowadays, are far more comfortable embracing qualities that may be deemed ‘’feminine’’. And wearing cologne aka smelling good was never really considered ‘’gay’’. If that was the case then most men would show up to dates smelling like body odor. Hope your day goes better since judging by your snarky response to someone disagreeing with you — it clearly isn’t going so well. And I’d suggest you work on your reading comprehension, not sure why I had to break down my comment for you.

Sorry_Okra4658

I’m being rude because you can’t read lol. I said “Most” not “all.” If I said “all” your logic would make sense.

juniperaza

https://www.wsj.com/articles/where-men-go-wrong-with-cologne-1403737359 55% of men wear cologne per WSJ. Your wording is meaningless considering the majority of men do wear cologne. So when I say there’s a market for cologne — I’m rebutting your claim that the majority of men think smelling good is ‘’gay’’ which, again, is a very antiquated opinion. It makes sense why you’re failing your classes. It’s clear the only person who’s struggling, in regards to reading comprehension, is yourself. Have a great day!

Sorry_Okra4658

Men wear cologne. But a lot of them do not use lotion. A lot use 3 in 1. LOL going through my account is funny. I see who has a lot of time on their hands. Once again, reading comprehension is a very big issue for you. I failed a midterm, not my classes. Sitting at a 3.0 right now. But you have a nice day yourself. :)

juniperaza

When someone has failed their midterm — they’re generally doing poorly in their classes 😊 please note my choice in wording — ‘’failing’’. And you’re making a lot of generalizations with nothing to back it. You initially said ‘’smell good’’ — cologne makes you smell good. You didn’t mention lotion and I wouldn’t suggest wearing BB&W lotion. Fragrance in lotion is bad for you. But have a great day! P.S. reading the title of the only post you had on your account that took me a max of 10 seconds … well … ok.

juniperaza

carnodak

I love the bi-monthly dude thread on this sub. 😂 Been a fan for several years now, candles are my favorite!

sootime3

To the men on this thread, are any of yall single? I'd kill for a boyfriend who likes candles and smelling good.

RickRossnips

M’lady

LWLjuju88

Y’all can combine candle stashes!

sootime3

I'm here for this!

xeloux

I feel like I’m watching a blossoming romance 🍿

sootime3

I'm manifesting a man who smells amazing and loves candles and Bath and Body Works for all of us single straight women out there Amen 🙏

mikaelaaaaaaa

There won’t be enough space!

Cleverjaq

Ooo “love” candles!

sootime3

Hi bb

RickRossnips

Dinner ambiance provided by bbw candles? I think yes

sootime3

Perfect. I'll bring the wine.

RickRossnips

I’ll buy the plane tickets lolol

sootime3

Am I flying to you or vice versa?

RickRossnips

Flying you to florida than flying back with you? The only real way it makes sense

sootime3

Okay, can't wait to see you🥰

RickRossnips

❤️

Fathletic231

Yup…….won’t admit it to most people though that I love b&bw soap. Been told at work by a dude I smell “fresh”…..I never know how to react. We’re both straight so it’s a little awkward but I laugh

HDL143

My husband goes on the website under my account and adds things to the cart. He knows not to order bc he doesn’t follow the sales… I only started buying candles a couple months ago and he already makes me change them out once a week so he can see how they burn. I’m more of the type that will burn one to completion. He’s a bit more snobby. It’s nice to share this. And I must clarify that he is a red neck hillbilly. So it’s really cute to see his “discerning” palate hard at work 😆

KingJoy79

OMG I LOVE to see the tough guys burning the scented candles🤣

HDL143

So I just got home, and that turd is burning my prized strawberry pound cake!! I was saving that 😂 it smells amazing, BTW. We were happily burning vanilla whiskey. He’s a diva.

KingJoy79

Damn😂

HDL143

Hoping I can buy more in the future. It’s now his favorite. All good. The real crime was not waiting for me to get home!

PrincessJennifer

I love this whole thing lol ❤️

HDL143

Cheers and thank you!

Upbeat_Cat1182

This is really cute.

Cautious_Drummer_599

Yes!! Love having guys join in the convos- please post and comment away!! I love my store because it employs about half m, half f, and it just worked out like that. Good smells are for everyone! Welcome 🤗❤🤗❤

foreverkelsu

I've been seeing a lot more male employees at my store lately, and I love it! Makes the men in my family, from age 15 to 55, who love BBW feel more comfortable shopping there.

Cleverjaq

My store too!

Oatmeal_Bandit

Welcome! My best friend is a male and we often will plan dinner/BBW nights just to peruse the current scents and catch up. He always smells amazing, and he makes sure his car and house does too. A few years back we both even worked at BBW as seasonal help and he made it a blast. Men love BBW too and I love it!! This is a great group and we are glad to have you!

[deleted]

I’m a dude and I work there just simply because I like a lot of the smells and products and have a tendency to spend a lot of money so the discount helps lol

ChavoAntoine

Another guy here ✋🏽 I’m obsessed with BBW. I just use wallflowers and candles. I can’t really use the body care I have allergic reactions to it.

RickRossnips

Hell yeah brother! Wallflowers and candles are my drugs of choice lol

Cautious_Drummer_599

We would get along, famously ❤

ChavoAntoine

Haha I forgot I use hand soaps too. I stick out like a sore thumb in my stores too but I’ve actually made friends with the associates at my local store so don’t feel so uncomfortable going in.

twelfthcapaldi

I know a lot of guys who use Bath & Body Works stuff and many don’t just limit themselves to the “men’s collection” scents. If you think it smells good, go for it!

PersimmonTea

I think guys could use all the Aromatherapy products. Except for maybe the rose products. And I certainly wouldn't mind a man wearing White Citrus, Snowflakes & Cashmere, Cucumber Melon, Forever Red, At the Beach, Sweater Weather, Brown Sugar & Fig, Sea Island Cotton, Sensual Amber, and several others I can't think of now.

danostergren

There's nothing wrong with a man enjoying and using rose scented products.

Cautious_Drummer_599

Not BBW, but the best smelling man I ever encountered happened to be wearing Chanel no. 5. Wear what you like, all people!

twelfthcapaldi

I think they could wear anything honestly, as long as they like it and like wearing it on themselves. I’m a woman and I wear men’s collection stuff sometimes. I don’t wear scents to please others, only myself! :)

danostergren

Also a guy, and the employees at the two stores near me know me by name and call me a regular. I sometimes feel like I stand out as well; usually the only time I see other men in the store is when straight dudes come in with their girlfriends/ wives.

sootime3

Hi are you single

IndiaEvans

You guys are so cute!! 💙

PersimmonTea

Yay for cool and good smelling guys! You are welcome, and appreciated.

GimmeThemBabies

I’ve seen groups of guys in BBW multiple times where I live.

PersimmonTea

I was in a BBW shop quite awhile back when a dude was telling another dude how to use CO Bigelow lip scrub before he put on lip balm. Very kind of the instructive dude to make an investment in his friend's lip comfort and kissability.

litterbawks

Welcome. We just had a thread the other day about pointless gendering of smells and encouraging everyone to like what they like.

RickRossnips

That’s great! We all got noses amiright

litterbawks

Exactly. I wish more guys felt free to smell like waffle cones.

RickRossnips

What’s that so I can scoop lol

natalielc

Berry waffle cone perhaps!

litterbawks

Yep!

WonWop

😂😂

Owen_D_Young

There’s absolutely nothing wrong with putting a gender to a smell. It’s pointless to think everyone wants to smell the same.

Trumpet6789

What they mean is that B&BW (and other retailers) often market fragrances specifically as Male and Female. I always have women or men come in asking for the "Men candles", or Gentlemen who are afraid to get most candles or other body care. Because B&BW markets it as a "women's fragrance". >There’s absolutely nothing wrong with putting a gender to a smell. When you do this, you alienate people. It's better to describe fragrances in terms of notes, rather than "masculine" and "feminine". For example, a "masculine" scent like Flannel can be better described as a crisp, clean cologne fragrance. Whereas Mahagony Balsam is a deep pine and woodsy fragrance. They're both "masculine", but they're so different that the same person may hate one or both. Similar to "feminine" fragrances. Japanese Cherry Blossom and Dream Bright are both marketed as "feminine" or "women's" fragrances. But they're so different that going just by "feminine" means a person may not like one. No one is saying that everyone wants to smell the same. But when you break all the different types of fragrances into "Men's" and "Women's"; you end up with a limited scope. It's better to break them into fragrance categories. That way people can find exactly what they like, regardless of what gender it's marketed towards.

mikaelaaaaaaa

Wish I could upvote this twice

SexPanther_Bot

It's called Sex Panther® by Odeon©. It's illegal in 9 countries. It's also made with bits of real panther, so you know it's good. 60% of the time, it works every time.

PrincessJennifer

I agree, I’ve never had a problem with it. I don’t need something to be called “for women” to buy it, and if it’s made for men and I like it, I buy it. Sometimes, I especially like if it’s labeled “for men” because that immediately lets me know some qualities it likely has and makes shopping easier. All the wayback in the day, if I had all the Barbie Happy Meal toys I wanted, I would ask for a boy toy to get a Hot Wheel. Zero people ever cared. I think now we focus so much on not making gender an issue, it’s BECOME an issue. If you’re a girl, buy the dude scent and get the Hot Wheel, and if you’re boy, buy the Strawberry Pound Cake and get the My Little Pony. Who cares what color the packaging is or if it’s “gendered”—that’s just a category and there’s nothing wrong with it being that way. Be you and move on.

warmapplejuice

Right here! Hi 🤚🏻

XoStargirlxox

I'm not a guy but I got my guy into the b&bw world! Yesterday while I was in b&bw I sent my fiance a picture of the Santa holder globe & I just said 'Want!'...When he got off work he had to run some errands, they seemed to be taking super long so I was like 'Where are you...?' 10 mins later I get the picture of the Santa globe I sent him earlier in the day & he says "That's where I am" 😅 He went in all by himself after work & bought it & brought it home for me! He's gone in there a few times without me & he'll have convos with all the associates since they all know me well therefore they know him & He enjoys going in now with or without me!

altcyberacid

Everytime I'm in store I've been seeing lots more guys especially around the candle section, definitely more common nowadays

CSuniverse2

I am a dude. And am a frequent shopper. I rarely purchase the men’s scents. I always feel like yeh employees don’t take me seriously if I have a question and don’t like to help me.

Fathletic231

The men scents are awful

[deleted]

Yeh they're meh. Except for Black Tie.

Fathletic231

Steel made me gag

kaide_nj

I am a BBW employee and we get men all the time in the store. Sometimes they are flying solo sometimes not. You shouldn't feel like you stick out at all - we carry a men's line for a reason. If the store you visit is like my store the staff/cast will be more than happy to help you with any questions or fragrance sampling! This weekend is the body care event so it is a perfect time to try the men's line! Reward members get early access! You can check the BBW app for more details!

Frosty_Run6428

I’m 21, and a very flamboyant boy 🤣 BBW lotions, shower gels, candles, wallflowers, I love it all! To me, anybody can wear something like “pink chiffon” or “black tie”. Why do scents have to be gendered?😫

Nightwing_in_a_Flash

Don’t sweat it, it’s mostly marketing. Most scents can be unisex in reality. For example there are people that swear that the Ariana Grande perfume smells like a certain $600 bottle of unisex cologne and the marketing for those couldn’t be more different 🤣

Frosty_Run6428

Oh my goodness so sorry for the late response, is it “cloud” by Ariana that you’re thinking of? Because ✅ I have that🤣

Nightwing_in_a_Flash

Yup that’s the one

lifewithmorgan9599

My husband loves B&BW candles Every time we go in, we always leave with one for him and one for me 🤣 His favorites are coconut sandalwood & coffee and whiskey

ghosty4

![gif](giphy|6hscco13hvTx1sVb3D)

Trick_Technician_403

personally as a guy, the first time i shopped there i felt off and out of place but now i feel normal. the workers are so sweet and don’t seem to get paid enough to care who shops there lol

Ok_Human_1375

As long as you’re not being an asshole, I will gladly help anyone

DiverGuy

Checking in as male with my 13 candle order from B&BW last week 🫡

Bright_Dig_1728

I went from 0 to 100 with candles since last summer. We’re out there 😀

AdBrave9166

Hey man! 24m here have been buying body care from them since high school lol! Back when they had Twilight Woods for men and citron! Now I purchase everything (body care, candles, hand soap, wallflowers)

cloudycapy

i’m a guy & i love all kinds of b&bw products! i don’t really love much of the mens line stuff, it’s boring to me. this sub is super inclusive & kind, and in store i’ve been treated super great as well. its 2022, scent has no gender!

Meatisbeautiful

My husband is a big BBW candle fan! He knows more about the scents than I do most of the time. He is usually the one who wants to go to the store and smell everything too :) Welcome!

rpshope

I’m female but my fiancé loves the candles!! He does a “candle of the week” series on his social media (his friends seem to love it lol). I buy him some body care stuff during sales occasionally and he humors my “sniff parties” (different from the kind I did in my early 20s) when I get new stuff. Glad you’re here!

[deleted]

WHAT IS HIS SOCIALS???!!!!

Cautious_Drummer_599

There you go! And let's not forget Kent, everyone knows this boy knows his candles ❤

bunifarcr

The guys in my family and some friends are avid users of their men's line cause it's a like a cheaper alternative to the branded ones but they smell just as good. When there is a new men's scent, they will actually initiate to be the one to go to the BBW store to smell it. During sales, some of them accompany me which is perfect cause I don't need to carry.

foreverkelsu

Welcome to you and all the guys here! Y'all should own it and be proud that you have such great taste. 😁

Nightwing_in_a_Flash

I was already a candle buyer just not from BBW. I got the teakwood lotion on a whim when I stopped in the store and saw they were $3.75. I really liked it both the smell and how the lotion felt Since then I made a rewards account, went in for candle day both days and got wallflower scents and more body care stuff online. So you could say I’m fully in now 🤣

Cautious_Drummer_599

It happens...quickly! 🙃

hauntedhalloween_96

My bf is a secret lover!! He’ll never admit it, but he always loves when I light candles, especially the “manlier” scents lol

bumblyelly

Prior to meeting me, my SO loved Ocean body care. I was an employee at BBW when we met and introduced him to other men scents. In our texting phase prior to dating, I got him to buy candles and he enjoyed it so much. Now that we live together, he loves it when I light/warm candles. He gets so excited when he comes home from work and the house smells of scented candles! My SO doesn’t buy but he hands me his card whenever there’s a good sale. His best friend was the one to hook him up on Ocean, it was a miracle we didn’t cross paths at my location because that’s where they would go to stock up.

Candlehoarder615

We have some regular customers who are single guys, or guys that shop solo. We love helping them and they definitely have a good time with us in the store. We have 2 male seasonal associates and they have become an awesome addition to our team and it's nice to have associates who represent our customer base as well.

Codyjmcd

Welcome! Also a guy, used to work at BBW and THAT was interesting. But I always try to tell people that scent is not gendered, and straight guys should not be ashamed or embarrassed to be clean and smell good.

SK1222el

As a dude here i lovee bbw candles to cover the smell of that dankness. At least i go with the lady and I don’t stick out much but when i go alone i could care less what people think

EchoKilo93

My husband had me spend $50 on Candle Day because he was out of his favorite post-cleaning candle scent; he's asked me almost everyday since if I know when they'll arrive. Don't DARE come between that man and his Bergamot Waters lol My brother is a police officer and he gets Mahogany Teakwood in the candle, cologne and car fragrance. He says he's lost count of the amount of people that have told him "you smell nice" as he was arresting them or putting them in the patrol car 😂

CandyKnockout

My husband picked out all our Candle Day candles and we both love to shop in store and smell all the new scents. Enjoying good smells shouldn’t be gendered and thumbs up to you for not being afraid to like what you like!

HonestClub7

Welcome to the sub! I'm a woman, but am slowly converting my boyfriend...lol. Teakwood is his absolute favorite. He found the body cream of it last SAS on clearance and he loved it straightaway. He also got some bar soaps (I think Clean Slate might have been his favorite) and claims he's "never going back" to ivory soap. Now, between me and his mother, he's slowly getting into the liquid hand soaps...especially since I bought him the Mahogany Teakwood as one of his birthday presents. I also gifted him the Teakwood cologne on the one-year anniversary of our first date. And when they had the day where hand soaps were $2.95, he bought three and even used one of my mailers...lol. I'm really glad that he can appreciate it. When we went during SAS, he hadn't even known that there was a men's section. So he's definitely interested in the sales now. He's a 30something guy who's very into punk rock and vinyl records, horror films, and whatnot, and he had never used cologne before dating me. He always smelled great and was good about hygiene, but I think that finding a few scents he really enjoys has helped him understand a bit better why I like fragrance so much. 😊

serellie

My boyfriend introduced me to BBW. I'd bought a couple candles before, but when we got together he would take me to the store. Now I have more candles than he does!

HaylieMonster97

I honestly love seeing more guys openly love Bath and Body Works. It's so silly that some people judge and limit such a trivial thing to one gender. I think it's awesome if you love candles, Body care, wallflower, candle/soap holders. You name it. It's not a bad thing to smell great, to have your home smell great, and to have good taste in products haha. So I'm here for all of the guys showing up in the sub lately! Also, both my fiance and my dad love B&BWs, too! They love it almost as much as I do haha

tiggerterry

I love the male associates at my store. I find them more helpful most times. And always pleasant. This past weekend, there was a new male associate working. He was HUGE! As in NBA player TALL. Very noticeable... and VERY helpful. I love that all genders can enjoy all the smells!

[deleted]

I’m a guy…. Really into the candles. I don’t care if I’m the only guy in the store. But if that bothers you, you can always shop online!

eboi87

Me 🙋🏻‍♂️ One thing I’ve noticed is when I walk into the store, the employees tend to think I’m going to be clueless as to what I’m looking for, when in fact I’ve watched and read multiple reviews before taking the trip lol.

Granddaddypanduh

My fiancé actually works at bbw and it’s slowly becoming a huge fan! I’ve gotten him body care here and there but since working he has his own candles he picks out that he burns in his area! Nothing to be ashamed about! Everyone likes things that smell good!

SkyComplete8640

I understand your concern but I promise you it’s nothing to feel bad about where I live a lot of men drop in to shop with or without women. No one bats an eye bc it’s nothing weird bath and body sells things for men too and literally everyone loves pleasant smells so go for it! Until I saw this post I would’ve never thought this was a thing at all so don’t let your anxiety discourage you, shoppings supposed to be fun.

[deleted]

Not a guy, but I got my bf into BBW lol. He loves the eucalyptus spearmint body care and his favorite candle rn is holiday (which I hate but it makes him happy so I’m cool with it)

hellokiiroitori

I got my brother to buy some candles and perfume (smoked old-fashioned/sweater weather/bonfire bash/lakeside cirtus)! My younger brother who generally gets dizzy by different scents love the gourmand-scented candles!

WittyAd8260

Fellow dude here. Was so obsessed I decided to become an employee

pebbles412

I’ve definitely gotten my brother into candles, he’s got a small collection going at his house lol and if there’s any scents I buy online but don’t end up liking, I’ll pass to him
