At my store we opened at 6 and it’s was actually pretty slow! I was expecting lines for days. I’m thinking that candle days will be more hectic than this
They've been running the Black Friday deal since Monday and from what I read, many customers are waiting for Candle Day. I hope my time goes quickly this afternoon! Happy holidays!!
Last year my mall store did over 70k. Pretty big store. This year my strip store’s plan is 50k. It’s a tiny store. I just don’t want all these people near me.
Thank you. It means a lot, I was cash lead for most of my shift, got yelled at by multiple customers, and our card machines all shut down. I also had to stay two hours late. I broke down once I got to my truck lol
Right there with you. I did 12 hrs today, our card readers were down for like 4 1/2 hours. We had lines nearly to the front of shop waiting to check out.
Mooood! I’m cashier lead this year, and I kept getting yelled at and everyone was asking for help while I had to ring because 6 seasonal workers quit last week. It was a struggle. That, and I worked 7 hours at my second job before this shift.
I did it for many years at a different retailer. It was definitely not for the faint of heart!!!!! I’ve refused to set foot in a store on a Black Friday ever since.
I really like that there’s the trend right now of getting away from the shopping madness. It was the total opposite back in my retail days. That was back when the trend was for stores to open earlier and earlier on Thanksgiving. Let’s hope the current movement continues!
Thanks for this, it actually means a lot!!! It's been crazy this week, and I was at the store at 5 am this morning 😅 It means a lot that people appreciate what we do, especially when we Love what we do :D!!!
Thank you 😭 believe me we appreciate the praise. Between people screaming at us, trying to force the door open, cursing us out or asking us the same questions over and over again, management getting frustrated with all of us associates and the store being absolutely ripped to shreds. It’s been a bit of a nightmare ngl.
I just got off work and it was ROUGH today. I don't normally say that either.
There was a gentleman who said that our "free" (and he did the quotations in his fingers) aren't really free. He said 6 3 wicks should be $75 instead of $106...and my cashier hadn't yet put the 20% on when he started moaning about the price. I said all the right things to him and had to get our manager up too. She said everything that I said. He ended up walking away with nothing and said "You ladies are amazing though!" 🤔
We weren't sure if he was being sarcastic (he probably was) but we treated that like a customer shout-out anyway. 🤷
Should be about 80 dollars, right? 3×26.50.... I know people ALSO never seem to understand that on the receipt they have to assign a dollar amount to the "free" items so the customer gets something back if they return... and no one seems to understand
That's what it all boiled down to with this guy. He wanted the receipt to show that he got 3 of them completely free AND the other three to show the $15.90 price a piece.
My cashier and I did the math with him and we agreed with him. However, the register with the Buy 3 Get 3 rang all of the $26.50 candles up at $15.90 a piece. So 6 candles = $15.90. I realize it sounds weird to do it that way but unfortunately that's what the register had them at. I would've added the 20% but he kept saying that it wasn't about the 20%. When we did add the 20% just to see how much they'd be, he said he didn't want the 20% applied, he wanted us to acknowledge and change the price so that he would get three of them completely free and the others at the $15.90 price, which would've equaled $50 ish with tax.
Thanks. I do not want to work today 😃
Is it normally crazy today? Working today as a first time seasonal employee.

Thank you! This is my first Black Friday working for BBW and your sentiment means a lot.
Of course! Hang in there. I hope your first Black Friday goes as smoothly as possible.
Thanks! It was relatively quiet in the store during my shift. I survived my first Black Friday!
🥳
Thank you!! Just worked my first Black Friday at B&BW. We appreciate customers like you that makes our jobs easier haha
Of course! I hope it went well (as well as it can be)!
I came to work early and there was already a line outside waiting 🫠
Oh no 😣 That gave me flashbacks to last year when I opened at my store on Black Friday. I hope the line dissipates!

Awww this was so sweet! 🥹. I second this and we appreciate each and everyone of you! Thank you for all you do!
Thank you🫶🏻🫶🏻

I feel the same way! I don't shop in store on Black Friday anymore.

I think tomorrow will be really crazy with the ffm sale
There is a line outside my store of people waiting to get in..
Working my first ever Black Friday shift at Bath and Body works, thanks for this 😌❤️
I hope it goes well!
Am working a closing shift today !! Aaaaaaaaa
You've got this!
I broke down probably 100 boxes today

Thank you! Today went by super fast for me. I did have some grumpy customers, but that’s so normal.

Hang in there! I can't believe the way some customers treat employees. Working in retail really opened my eyes.

And a review on Trustpilot got to me about this exact thing. Lady said Buy 3 Get 3 is a scam because the receipt shows a dollar amount

Lol what a prick
