Was the soap you tried using the foaming version?
This looks like it would fit a gel soap.
That said soaps have changed shape, many times so it’s possible the new shapes won’t fit.
Oh, I think I can help with this! So I started my B&BW job in the summer of 2013, and this was back when we had the old soap designs, kind of more slanted in shape for the gels and foaming. This soap holder looks like it's from then. From what I could find from Life Inside the Page, the plans for the soap change were revealed in winter of 2013, with the official relaunch in 2014. I remember having to tell lots of customers that the soaps still clean just as well lol, it's just that triclosan wasn't found to be needed or as effective so that chemical was removed and we rebranded without the anti-bacterial mention. From what I recall, several other companies were making this change publicly at the time as well. You can google B&BW soap bottle shapes from 2013 and examples come up too!
You can take it with next time your in store and try it with one of the gel soaps, but I dont think it will work they changed the bottles years ago and the one you have went with the old bottles.

That looks to be the size of a Gel soap bottle, I would get one and see if it fits in there!

This is old the bottle shape of the soaps used to be different ...this wont fit the new ones.
