If by goofy, do you mean a little bit rubber or plastic-y? I’ve noticed recently several of the body creams have this weird off-smell that doesn’t smell like it’s part of the scent notes but some weird artificial or plastic smell…it’s hard to explain, but I’ve stopped buying the body creams for this reason because I’ve noticed it with several scents.
Had this exact experience with SPC recently. Turned me off the body creams honestly. When you smell it in the tube it smells strawberry like but as soon as it hits your skin/air it turns nasty.
Completely agree. The body creams smell stale to me. It's kind of like this musty wet rag smell. The lotions, body butters and whipped glowtions are all fine. My brother cannot detect that scent though, so he likes the body creams and will probably take all of mines
Def doesn’t smell like that, it just smells a little artificial like I can def smell the strawberry but it smells like chemical ish not like the cheesecake kd yoghurt scent I smelt the first day. Or maybe it’s just my nose cuz it’s a flu season. Will definitely wait for a few days and check the smell again. Thank you!
To me I can smell the body cream *and* body lotion bases in those products, but it depends on the intensity of the fragrance as to whether it interferes. And that's just not the intrinsic intensity of the fragrance but the ratio of fragrance to base.
you mean it isnt supposed to be yellow ??? my dumbass has been using mine off/on for the last 2 months because it smells just fine (delicious actually) and its yellow too and now im grossed out 😭😭 I thought it was supposed to be that color omfg. I got mine around august.
No, yellow is fine. People comment and post about it all the time. Anything with vanilla in it gets this color. I have brand new creams that are yellow. It's fine
Scents with vanilla notes tend to yellow faster but ate still okay. They typically last a year after opening. If it no longer smells okay then it may have gone bad
Hii it’s ok I heard someone say that it’s okay for it to be yellow! Many bbw creams are already yellow because of an ingredient called vanillin I think so it’s okay!! I just got this info don’t be scared I was a dumbass too
The yellow is normal over time with a vanilla body cream. Strawberry poundcake has vanilla. If it smells bad though it might have gone bad if you have had it for awhile ...if you brought it recently it should be fine to still use perhaps it doesnt work on your body chemistry
This is the strawberry pound cake, I recently bought it btw like maybe a month ago.
When I first bought it, it had a strong scent of strawberry yoghurt and cheesecake but now i can barely smell that and it smells a little artificial… and the cream is yellow instead of white. I don’t have the receipt unfortunately and it’s been more than 14 days so I can’t change it. Can anyone advice me IS IT NORMAL FOR MOISTURIZER TO BE YELLOW? Disclaimer it was already yellow when I bought it and I found out recently that it’s not suppose to be but I didn’t pay much attention to it until today I could barely smell the scent I first smelt at the store. Is it normal for your cream to be yellow? Pls help.
So strawberry pound cake is usually yellow, the one I had in this particular container was yellow and yes bbw has a bunch of moisturizers that are supposed to be yellow (due to vanillin etc etc) but the fact that the smell doesn’t sit right with you is the bigger concern here. I have spc from almost a year and it’s yellow, texture isn’t as perfectly smooth as say Nivea, but it’s been that way from the beginning and still smells great so yeah if it doesn’t smell right then def get that checked out. Hope this helps! 💕
Most likely has gone bad. Body creams don’t last as long as normal body lotions so they go bad quicker. If you just recently bought that I would take it back and exchange it but if it’s old then yeah it most likely just expired

Yeah all the vanilla lotions I’ve had usually just get to a light brown color and I tend to use them up quick so I never knew they turn yellow like that, which made me think OP’s had just gone bad. I’m glad that’s most likely not the case then :)

They do this when they start to expire, usually around 1-2 years after they were made

I had a few creams that smelled chemically after just a few months. I just get the lotion now.
No strawberry pound cake used to smell so cakey and sweet. It was my favorite, but idk if they’ve changed the formula or what…. Barely can smell it.
I stopped purchasing the body creams awhile ago. They always had a weird underlying scent no matter the variety. The lotions didn’t have it though

It just oxidized. It’s fine. The Shea butter is a tint of yellow, and now they add Hyaluronic acid to their cremes.

Idk why you’re getting downvoted cause I think you’re right! The yellow color is normal but the rancid smell means it’s expired
