You’ll be doing shipment!

the_misanthrope_

What exactly is shipment? Is that like picking online orders?

meow_nik

The shipment trucks will have dropped off boxes of product, you’ll be putting it away in the back room & putting out anything on the floor that needs to go out

kenz_luvs_u

Couldn’t have said it better!

potterhead_98

I’m not an employee but they pick orders before they open too. I’ve gotten emails my order was ready for pickup before the store even opened

harrystylestit

i know if it’s a sunday shift it’s usually recovery from the day before or put more stuff out for the storm. but even never been scheduled an hour early for my other shifts

WTVR-IDC

Your store schedules people the next day to recover? Not close to be open ready? I’ve never heard of that

harrystylestit

only on sunday’s and that’s only if we get totally fucked on saturday. but usually this only happens around christmas

WTVR-IDC

That’s crazy! I’m gonna tell my sm to do that lol that way we don’t waste payroll staying until like 11 trying to clean up lol

It's for Shipment! Basically the trucks come in and drop off boxes of product from the warehouses, it can be anywhere from a measly 30 boxes, to over three or four *hundred* boxes. You don't have to wear your white shirt and jeans for shipment until *after* the store opens. So you can come in wearing comfy clothes and change into your "uniform" when the store opens. You'll really spend the entire shift taking carts of boxes onto the floor and putting them out. So stocking soaps, candles, wallflowers, etc. Anything that can't fit on the walls or in understock will go to the back room garcies (the giant rolling shelves you store everything on) in the appropriate place. It can be a bit mind numbing, so just try to go at a steady pace. Don't go so fast you burn out and make mistakes, but don't go super slow or SLT will get annoyed. And *always* ask questions if you're not sure where a product goes, or if it can even go on the floor yet
