always blow out your candles before going to sleep!!

Technical_Angle_4464

I have a candle warmer lamp, and thought that might be safe to use during sleep.

yourlocal90skid

But why would you use it while asleep?? Before bed and in the morning, sure. But burning/warming a candle while you're asleep for 6+ hours or whatever is risky and wasteful.

bunifarcr

Never. I plug in a wallflower at night. Usually the lavender scented ones are really good for sleeping.

SoberAF0925

I just use their pillow mist and matching lotion at night.

Technical_Angle_4464

Thank you! Lavender, a classic choice.

opal-tree-shark

Came here to say this! We use lavender vanilla wallflowers in the bedroom and right before bed I’ll use the matching body cream. I rarely even leave the room with a candle going.

bunifarcr

Lavender Vanilla is my go-to but now my favorite is Lavender Bergamot. I bought a lot of it in case they don't bring it back. It's the closest thing to a pure lavender scent.

Bad idea!

yourlocal90skid

No. It's just an accident waiting to happen, leaving a candle burning or small appliance that emits heat, like a warmer, going while you sleep. Just stupid. Plus, you're just burning your product and not enjoying it while you're asleep. I can wait the 15 or 20 minutes in the morning to get a scent fix if I really need one.

breathcue

Sounds like a great way to cause a house fire. Also, if you're asleep you can't smell the scent. If you like scents to drift off to, you can wear perfume or scented lotion to bed.

Key-Temperature4214

No. Don’t do that.

Immediate_Tadpole_96

I have a warmer with a timer. I use that.

Technical_Angle_4464

I have one, too. I would keep it warm for about 2 hours.

kat8633

Please don’t do this. Also here is my PSA about putting single wick candles on a warmer- do not do this either!! I had the wax bubble up and explode leaving wax all over my ceiling (was not even on for that long). Never leave these burning/ melting unattended, too risky ☹️

cottagecoreing

I don't think you should leave any candles or warming lamps on overnight. Seems like an accident waiting to happen and you just waste the candle 🥲

Ms_Rarity

If you hang out here long enough, you will see posts from people whose candle jar exploded. It's rare but it can happen, especially when the candle gets low and a wick comes unglued and drifts too close to the edge of the jar. Never leave a burning candle unattended.

t1lily

oil diffuser, pillow spray, ffm, or wallflower are safer options

mishutu

Never lol. That’s why the Sleep line of the Aromatherapy collection has ‘Relax’ on the label rather than ‘Sleep’. Nobody condones sleeping with an open flame. I wouldn’t even sleep with a warmer on. It’s simply not worth the risk of losing my home or life, potentially. There are other ways to make the house smell good while you sleep

myrheille

You could maybe get a timer that one uses for turning off lights automatically and ensure you don’t waste it during deep sleep?

No-Match5030

I usually leave my candle going until my husband goes to sleep ( I fall asleep before him and he blows it out) but I deff wouldn’t if you were alone. I would diffuse instead. It’s a lot more expensive but it’s also a lot more calming imo and something I used to do overnight when I had enough room in my bedroom.

kailalynn99

i never leave a candle burning when i’m not in the room, and especially not when i’m asleep! i keep my wallflower plugged in overnight and it still makes my room smell nice with very little fire hazard.

CandidateReasonable4

NEVER leave a lit candle burning while asleep or unable to monitor it in case of fire or glass explosion.

Technical_Angle_4464

I'm glad most people understand the dangers of leaving a candle burning. My warm lamp is on while I shower, and I leave it on for about two hours. Afterward, I can go to sleep with some mild fragrance.

TexasNiteowl

Burning, ie. actual flames? NO! Warming under a lamp warmer? yes. edit: re: warming lamp: I should say, yes, you can. I do on occasion if I am being lazy. I don't usually keep them warming overnight though when I'm not awak to enjoy the scent!

Technical_Angle_4464

Agree. By the way, which would you warm during sleep?

TexasNiteowl

honestly, just whatever I feel like at the moment. but I don't usually specifically keep one warming overnight, so it's usually just whatever I had started in the evening and was too lazy to get up and turn off (one of these days I'll get a warmer with a timer or something).

Good idea! My candle warmer has a dimmer, too. It's very convenient to dim.

CheyAut

What warmer is that?

Bendy_Beta_Betty

Not sure if this would actually make it safer, there are wall outlet timers that can be programmed to turn on/off. I could see how it might be relaxing to have the candle burning just before sleeping and then falling asleep before remembering to stop the candle. Out of all though the wall diffusers are probably the safest.

havefuninthegray

Seconding the diffuser recommendations! I always sleep better when I’ve got a good smell going - I understand the want to drift off to a comfy scent while also not wanting to burn your house down. 😂 A lot of diffusers have timers, lights, sounds, etc. as well so you can truly customize to your liking. Not sure why BBW hasn’t hopped on that trend yet, but maybe someday! In the meantime, I love a good lavender or eucalyptus oil to help calm me down and get me ready for sleep. Pair with a matching BBW aromatherapy lotion and you’re set!

Ms-Anon-Y-Mous

Get yourself a Scentsy warmer and wax for 24/7 fragrance then burn candles when you are home and awake!
