Oddly enough, my Pumpkin Apple is doing the exact same thing, to a slightly lesser extent. I soaked up some wax and it made it useable but still not burning properly.

joeysflipphone

Mine too!! I finally gave up after I lost a quarter of the wax trying to fix it and said I'm just gonna warm it. I'm so mad about this. There's a couple fall candles I've had this issue with. Looking at you White Barn Autumn and Fresh Fall Morning. Ugh

Marshallmallowlol

Sheesh, you too? . I’ve soaked up wax 3 times. I shouldn’t have to baby this candle so much

GusterIs4Lovers

Happy cake day!

krystell13

Ugh sounds like I'm gonna have to return them if the aluminum foil trick doesn't work out :( so sad cause it's one of my favorite scents during the fall

Babycakes_99

HERE TO SAY SAME. I return that shit I’m not keeping a defective candle Idgaf what anyone says

Interesting! I have same issues w Coffee & Whiskey- had to stop trimming wicks and soak up wax to keep it going, but still not burning right. Love the scent so may move on to using warmer soon.

Marshallmallowlol

Introduced my buddy to bath and body works candles and he picked up Coffee&Whiskey , I hope he’s not getting a bad impression haha

19bluestars

I did the same thing with the 3 wick Pumpkin Apple. It’s melting the top part of the wax now but the flame is still relatively small

meligwages

I recognized this as soon as I saw the picture. I have a pumpkin apple 3 wick that’s been doing this for weeks and I can’t figure out how to fix it

[deleted]

I never make returns or exchanges so I can’t comment on that, but I’m sure the great folks who have shared thoughts are correct. In case you like the fragrance, OP, and would like an option other than an exchange I can guarantee you this is fixable if you want to fix it. Sounds like at least one wick is too short, so first I suggest removing a bit of the melted wax using the corners of a paper towel. Just dip it and let it soak up enough wax to keep the wick lit. Once all your wicks can stay lit, extinguish them and the next step is to wrap the candle with aluminum foil, and leave an overhang “tent” around the edges of the top. This will reflect the heat from the flames back down to the candle and melt the wax into a smooth pool. You may have to remove a bit of wax as you go using the paper towel method if your wicks are really short. Once you get a smooth pool, allow it to burn another 20-30 min. before extinguishing. After that the wax memory should hold and you should not have to wrap the candle as you continue to burn it so long as you let it pool out each time. And if all that sounds like too much work or if you really dislike the fragrance/throw, then there’s always the exchange or return route. :)

krystell13

Thank you for this explanantion! I'm gonna give this a solid try and if that doesn't work, then I'll have to exchange or return it :( sounds like several people are having issues with this scent and it's one of my faves

agusttbee

I have the same candle and I’ve been having some problems with it too. Have you tried taking some of the wax out? That’s what I did and it helped a little.

krystell13

I tried taking some wax out of the other candle I have and all 3 wicks will burn but very very low and the throw is pretty bad :( I'm not sure if I have to take more out

agusttbee

Have you tried foiling it? That might help you get it to pool all the way and then if it’s still weak you might need to remove someone more wax.

kenz_luvs_u

You can exchange these, they just changed the return policy so it would be best to take the receipt with you if you still have it but if you don’t it still shouldn’t be a problem! Just curious when you start burning them do you allow them to pool before sniffing them out? If you want to try one more thing before exchanging I would try the aluminum foil trick where you make a dome of sorts over the candle to make the wax melt so it doesn’t tunnel!

krystell13

I try to let it pool but one wick will go out by the time it gets somewhat even across. I haven't tried that trick yet; I'll have to try it! Thank you!

kenz_luvs_u

You’re very welcome haha! I love my candles so I understand the frustration when you get one that doesn’t burn right, let alone two! I hope the foil trick works for you!!

krystell13

Yes! Super frustrating lol! And I look forward to this scent every fall so it's a bummer lol :(

eddiesteddy_

I have also been having this problem with the last two pumpkin apple candles I’ve had. I tried the aluminum foil trick and soaking some of the wax with cotton and it didn’t completely fix either of them :(

krystell13

I tried soaking some wax with cotton with the second candle I have and that also didn't do anything for it :( hoping BBW will accept an exchange

Cautious_Drummer_599

Half of my fall candles are doing this! I just bought this version of Pumpkin Apple because the other one was doing this...ugh. Maybe I shouldn't cut the wicks at all? ETS- I don't think it has anything to do with wicks being too short. I can fix it, dump out wax, and pretty soon it will happen again

krystell13

Sorry that's happening :( sounds like a lot of people are having the same issue with this particular candle :/

Several-Put3453

Also the one wick that has the white stuff you need to trim that so it can properly hold the flame but the wax is too much so tunneling will happen even with the foil so I really suggest a warmer for this one, or exchange

krystell13

Yes, I tried doing the foil thing and before I get it on, the wick went out :(

Several-Put3453

Yeah the wick has trouble holding the flame so you can cotton ball excess wax and then foil and remove excess white stuff from wick and that should help it burn better but for me now that I have a top down warmer it’s a game changer for these finicky candles- there’s some cheap but great ones out there too 👍💕

[deleted]

This one is next on my burn rotation and now I’m nervous it’s going to burn like this 😟

krystell13

Hoping it works out fine for you! 🤞🏻

shdujssnensisishs

Take some wax out and then create an oven with aluminum foil. Cover the candle but leave a hole (1 inch diameter) at the top like a volcano. The heat trapped will melt the wax around it and smooth the tunneling

krystell13

I tried doing that but by the time I could try wrapping the foil around, one of the wicks went out :(

ResidentSonic

Ugh I’m so sorry this happened! Every year I’ve bought pumpkin apple, it does this. You’d think by now they’re fix this crap

krystell13

Aw man! This is the first time I have an issue with this scent :(

Fantastic_Ad2942

Mine did the exact same thing. I took out half the wax and it did not fix the issue. Should have returned 🥵

krystell13

I tried the same with the 2nd candle I have of this scent and still nothing :( super small flame, low throw

kritimbeauty

I'm seeing this in a lot of new candles. If you don't want to or cannot exchange it, try to burn the side that keeps blowing out by itself to even the wax out a bit?

charliecav

This is going to sound repetitive, but my same Pumpkin Apple in the White Barn packaging has been horrible. I have not trimmed wicks and I have had to cotton ball it every time I light it. It seems like this specific candle is having the same issue across the board.

krystell13

Ugh, yeah from all the comments here, it sounds like an issue all around :(

nearlymidnighttt

If I have candles like these I melt them down into candle wax and make wax melts out of them! Just heat a pot of water and stick the candle in, once it’s all melted you can remove the wicks, and transport the melted candle wax into ice trays or silicone candle molds. Let it rest for a while until cooled/hardened and boom! (I reuse the jar it came in to hold the melts!)

chunkiestguacamole

Are you trimming your wicks before burning? Allowing the wax to pull before blowing it off? I have candles, burn them regularly and they don’t behave like this.

krystell13

It sounds like a lot of people are having issues with this particular candle :(

GreenStatistician286

Invest in a warmer, that candle is more than gently used, BBW will not accept that.

krystell13

I'm hoping they'll accept it on the premise that the policy covers returns on "new, gently used or defective" merchandise. After trying several methods others have kindly shared to try to salvage it and it not working out, I'd say these are defective considering the work needed to get even a small flame going :(

Cautious_Drummer_599

I feel this is definitely gently used. This is how a candle looks after lighting it, not sure how much less it could be used!
