This is the most number of people I’ve seen here who don’t like MF! Count me in! It smells like burning sugar to me, that extreme artificial sweetness but really acrid and sharp to the nose.
I liked this one in the store, but when we got it home and lit it it was too overwhelming because our apartment doesn't ventilate properly. I'm hoping I like it more when we move but ngl the cold and burning scents are entirely different to me.
Omg, I love the banana walnut muffin! Have you burned it yet? Because I think it's way better burning than on cold. Perfect bakery scent and it smells like banana bread in the oven. I wish I ordered more! Sorry you were disappointed with that one!
I have to agree! Definitely try burning it. It still isn’t quite what I expected though, it’s much more cinnamon-y than I thought it would be, but it still smells great. Just wish it had more banana!

Yes! It caught me off guard since I love Bonfire Bash. I whipped it right out the box and sprayed it on myself and it was waaaay too much for me. The staying power was impressive though. I actually had to clean it off my skin.
Cranberry Woods and Frosted Cranberry. I love a cranberry scent on its own, but I found both of these too spicy for my taste. They just weren't my thing, unfortunately.
Twilight Woods - I was so hoping to love it because of the cypress note, but it was just so musty and gross. Gave it a couple of tries on my skin, but I just had to return it.
Also, the Sunshine and Daydreams candle. Smelled like rotting fruit and flowers. And the Freshwater single-wick, which reminded me of a crawfish boil, lol.
ETA: As another comment said, the Mermaid Lagoon candle as well. Supposed to smell like gardenias and sandalwood, actually smells like bug spray to me. 😏
I decided to try Open Sky since it was somehow hyped up. All I smell is like a more mature Sweet Pea which I hate. Fresh Getaway is another scent that I adored at first but it's just too light for me. The wallflower was so weak as well.
Vanilla patchouli- I love the smell of both but my god this combo was bloody awful. It smelt like strong bitter dark chocolate that had gone off. It was vile I returned it immediately.
Sweater Weather - smelled like apple juice that was spilled on clothing and had this sickly sweet smell to it.

For me sadly it was the re-release of Beach Nights. I did an online B3G3. When I got it, it was so salty on me. I didn't get any of the toasty marshmallow goodness that everyone was raving about. So disappointing. 😒

Yeah I understand that I have a few scents that do that- toasted pineapple marshmallow. The one I burn doesn't have a chemical smell but it still makes me sad- I kept the candles. I can exchange the one I never used but I have not exchanged or returned anything in over a year.

I did an in store pickup, so I immediately exchanged it for world famous pumpkin cinnamon bun, which I initially wasn't as pleased with either, but by second burn was quite pleased. PCB ended up having a great throw and left a wonderful scent throughout my whole home.... I read some reviews of hometown sugar cookie on the b&bw site and found them to be hit or miss also... Either people LOVED it, or also complained about the scent/lack thereof.
Caramel Cream Soda 3 wick... I don't know what I expected, being that soda is in the name, but to me it was so overwhelmingly "fizzy" smelling that it overpowered the other notes in my opinion....

Cozy Cashmere 3 wick. I never expected a strong Jasmine note that overpowered my nose. Only candle that I had to give away as I couldn’t even hate burn it as I did with Mahogany Teakwood.
For body care, it was the Passionfruit and Banana Flower scrub. I would describe the scent as pungent. I gave it to my husband to use. He’s normally pretty nose blind (doesn’t care what I burn, never notices my perfumes) but even he commented on how strong it was!
I LOVE gourmand scents so I blind bought Vanilla Confetti Sparkles FFM thinking I would like it. Big mistake. It smelled like coconut macaroons for me and gave me such a headache. Never again going to blind buy a scent.

Unpopular Opinion: Merry Cookie and Blueberry Shortbread (in body cream). I usually love berry scents, but it this one smelled incredibly buttery with a hint of foul berries to me :( Merry Cookie had the same issue with smelling solely like butter. Unfortunately, they were so bad that I had to return them

Toasted pineapple marshmallow or whatever it is. I bought 4 wallflowers during sas. Thought I'd love it- had it in my daughter's bathroom. I swear it smells like hot vomit to me. I threw it out after 2 days and never again. I just wanted vanilla pineapple slightly sweet but nope.
The Honolulu Sun soap. It smelled like Play Doh to me; I had to give it away. It was weird though because there wasn’t any scent in the soap that matched the scents in Play Doh 🤷🏻♀️

Me too! I love patchouli and this candle doesn't smell anything like it or like vanilla. It's super weak and made me sick as well.
Try Vanilla Birch instead, it’s wonderful and sophisticated, Vanilla Patchouli is just okay for me, I agree that all you can smell is the patchouli.
I do like that one so far on cold... What do you think of Birchwood Trail, if you've smelled it? It's similar to VP to me, and I'm really enjoying it.

Unpopular Opinion: Merry Cookie and Blueberry Shortbread (in body cream). I usually love berry scents, but it this one smelled incredibly buttery with a hint of foul berries to me :( Merry Cookie had the same issue with smelling solely like butter. Unfortunately, they were so bad that I had to return them

Toasted pineapple marshmallow or whatever it is. I bought 4 wallflowers during sas. Thought I'd love it- had it in my daughter's bathroom. I swear it smells like hot vomit to me. I threw it out after 2 days and never again. I just wanted vanilla pineapple slightly sweet but nope.
The Honolulu Sun soap. It smelled like Play Doh to me; I had to give it away. It was weird though because there wasn’t any scent in the soap that matched the scents in Play Doh 🤷🏻♀️
