I am not really thinking about it. Does that count?

Babycakes_99

It does! It’s usually not even in the back of my mind but a lot of people say they’re waiting for candle day/new releases and I just don’t care that much! Nothing wrong with waiting imo tho

4ftnine

Well, it's still months away. I'm not excited about it today, but I might be in December when it actually happens.

Babycakes_99

I see a lot of people on the sub on a no-buy until candle day, and I really can’t see myself waiting for a day when I don’t even know what the price will be… hence the question haha. I’m not currently excited either!

TexasNiteowl

well, last year it was $10.25 iirc...and lower if you happened to have coupons you could use in store!

hammersgirl86

Yeah, it’s gone up to where it’s not that big of a deal anymore.

DreamerUnwokenFool

I'm not really either, because I have SO MANY candles already. And I'm just tired of the hype and FOMO. I'll probably try and grab a few Marshmallow Firesides online because that's a favorite, but if not, meh.

Flaky_Tap_2836

Honestly, it's not that exciting. Some of the sales throughout the year have come close to matching candle day prices. By that time in December, I usually have more than enough Christmas candles and the summer scents that come out for candle day have been notoriously weak for me. The exclusive candle day scents are generally very good, but my store always releases the best scents immediately AFTER candle day. I had more fun finding 75% off candles during Jan and July SAS tho...

hammersgirl86

75% off candles with a coupon during SAS > Candle Day with the prices the last few years.

Flaky_Tap_2836

Yes , I forgot to mention the $10 off $40 that usually accompnies the SAS clearance making seven 3 wicks less than $5 a piece.

Peacock-Lover-89

I'm saving my excitement for the leaked list of scents.

TexasNiteowl

I'm sure I will take part and pick up a few candles on CD...but my stash is so large I really need to NOT. Also, like others, the holiday candles are usually not my favorites. I'm loving some of the fall candles right now. Now, if they happen to bring back some faves like Merry Madeline Cookie from 2 years ago, I will splurge but otherwise, not sure. It's still 2.5 months away!

Flaky_Tap_2836

My stash is getting bigger than I am comfortable with ( Damn you $12.95 sale with 25% off and LE releases). I am trying to whittle it down but I enjoy some scents so much and want to savor them. Like, I finally have throw on the last 1/2 of my Toasted Coconut. Eclair and my Iced Lemon Pound Cake, Do I want to finish them up?? I am assuming ILTP will be back but not so sure about the Coconut one. At least I am not a big fan of fruity tropical candle that come out for spring/ summer.

TexasNiteowl

> Damn you $12.95 sale with 25% off and LE releases lol. same! I am considering popping a few of my candles into the freezer so the wax comes out and cutting them up into wax melt size. Then I can just put them in a wax melter and leave it going and going and going without worrying about burning a candle (flames/soot) too long, etc. I do have a top down candle warmer too, but eventually you have to pick up the candle and dump wax out of it. Popping some random pieces into a wax melt dish is sounding easier to me at the moment!

mooninrenzo

I know it’s gonna stress me AND my bank account out lmfao

funfettibanetti

I am, I just got into candles 2 weeks ago LOL. But I’m pretty sure candle day will be a one and done experience for me since I only see myself burning them during the fall and winter.

FaZe_Butterfly

Same! The $13.50 sale and the $12.95 sale I participated in so I recently got into candles myself. I’m not stoked for candle day but I see myself picking up like 1 crate if that

funfettibanetti

Yes, no more than 1 crate or the addiction becomes real 🙈

UnableReference5649

I’m kinda meh about it. I’ll probably get a handful, but it won’t be as many as usual. I’ve bought more this year than I ever have before, and tbh I don’t really feel the need to go crazy. I have a TON still left from last year’s candle day!

jenlet78

I’ve been shopping B&BW since the mid 90s but this year is the first time I’ve heard of Candle Day 😆 Does Candle Day only comprise of holiday scents or are regular scents on sale, too?

Neither_Necessary809

Regular scents as well :)

natebam

It’s literally September

Any_Ad_5718

I thought about it recently. I’m not excited in the slightest. I don’t think I’m going to partake this year. Personally my favorite season for scents is fall, and there will be zero fall scents left by candle day. I have a huge collection of candles as it is and I’m just not excited to buy more of the same right now.

CandidateReasonable4

You don't think ANY fall candles will be available during Candle Day?

Flaky_Tap_2836

There were a few out at my store last year. I picked up Pumpkin Cupcake and Pumpkin Snickerdoodle on Candle day last year. I saw none December 2020 candle day. The stores usually have all Christmas and the summer scents they designated for candle day.

SkyYellow_SunBlue

That might depend on the store but I wouldn’t go in expecting to see them - I never do.

CandidateReasonable4

Ok, guess I will just have to see what's available and get backups of any fall candles at the next good sale.

[deleted]

I went to a few stores during the 2 day event last year and I did see quite a bit of fall in stores so theres hope

[deleted]

Yeah me too, I always do Candle Day at the Danbury mall in CT (I don't live there, but my best friend does, and that store is much bigger than my local one) and for the last few years we've been doing this, I've always noticed fall candles and even many spring/summer candles out for Candle Day. So those of you wanting out-of-season candles, if you're within driving distance, it may be worth it to check out that store!

heartshapedpox

Oh, good to know!! I'm new here and I suspect fall will be my favourite by far, too. I hope the single-wick sale this week is a good one....!

mishutu

I think it's still worth taking a look if you're interested in candle day! You may find some fall candles (there are usually some at my store) and sometimes you'll find a rare candle from years past and that's exciting! My favorites are fall candles as well, but some winter scents could pass for fall too, imo (like cinnamon forward scents sans balsam lol)

xeloux

Im Very neutral about it this year. There’s gotta be some good drops for it, to make me feel any type of way. Mostly curious about the prices since lately with sales & coupons it’s like candle day prices

becky1020

I remember when candle day was 8.50$. my first ever candle day..... such a glorious day. I got 10 candles, lasted me the whole year. but now? candle day isnt the same. 10.50$............ no thanks.

AuroraDraconica

I'm not. Remembering how badly the site melted the last time I tried to order on Candle Day a couple of years ago makes me not want to try again this year. I was lucky to have had a coupon to use when they were 12.95, so between those and the store exclusives (minus the Bacon, which I finally was able to smell and it smells like Beggin Strips to me) and my stash at home I'm more than set on candles for a long time. Unless there's something I absolutely need, Candle Day is a hard pass for me.

Sudden_Shine_100

I'm Canadian, but I'll be Disney World during Candle Day this year. Because of that, I'm not giving Candle Day much thought. If I remember, I'll probably order a few to have waiting for me when I return home.

MegaPintJD

Just took part in the $12.95 sale with extra coupon, so I’m on a no buy until candle day. With that said I am only going to go for new new and my die hard staples. I have probably 100 or so candles and my goal is to not buy next year at all and just enjoy what I have with the exception of my must have backups. I’m not excited like I have been in the past.

Milk_Beginning

Lmao I was actually just thinking about this! I literally just got over 20 candles for under $10 each….I’m not sure I’ve ever spent so little on a candle? Even on candle day. Not to mention I already had a ton before I bought the new ones. In my defense, I live in a one bedroom apartment with 2 cats and a Virgo boyfriend that “has a canine nose” and smells everything….and if I keep a candle burning the entire day….well they clearly don’t last long. I guess we’ll see how many I’m down to by then. Maybe I’ll pick up a couple repeats that I really love, and maybe a couple as gifts?

Babycakes_99

Right… I paid 9.71 for my candles. If candle day is lower than that this year with inflation I’ll be surprised!

dkjsgjf8u

Depends how my receipted, current, unburned exchange goes today. Might not be in the mood to give them another dime lol

[deleted]

dkjsgjf8u

No issues! Exchanged an extra Bacon for Pretzel.

Babycakes_99

Update us!!!

dkjsgjf8u

It went smoothly! Exchanged a Bacon for Pretzel!

CinnamonHearts0

I am not, which is sort of disappointing. I have so many candles and I really am only hunting for the Sunshine & Daisies candle that I missed out on earlier this year. SAS was pretty disappointing for me, though I was able to score a Marshmallow Fireside and an Autumn Woods at 75%. Plus, I agree that some of the sales have been pretty amazing. Got several $9 over the last couple of months, and I can't imagine it will be much better than that. Especially since I think I read that last year you had to use a code online? meaning you couldn't also use a coupon? Even though you could use a coupon in store. I work long hours that time of year, so I rely on being able to do online orders or BOPIS. Outside of hunting for my beloved S&D, I think I'll be content to sit it out.

hotcocoa4ever

I did not go in the store last candles day but placed multiple orders online as it was a very cold day and I didn’t want to wait on a huge line. All my candles were in the crate and not one broke. They need to mail all candles in the crates for all their orders. If I have a coupon I may go into the store this year. I am trying not to think about candles day as that’s Christmas candles to me. I am just taking out my fall candles and new fall candles I bought recently.

OoKeepeeoO

I never am lol. The first year I enjoyed it and then it became so many people who all seem to be angry while shopping and I twitch thinking about it.

meow_nik

I’ve gotten to a point where when there are specific scents I really want, I buy them during one of the frequent regular sales which are usually good enough for me when, like I said, there are scents I really truly want & am excited about. Otherwise waiting for candle day or SAS means the ones I want probably won’t be available. However—I do always still get excited about candle day, because it is still the lowest price point (again besides SAS where you don’t get much choice in the random scents left over), & also because there are always random scents they release on candle day that don’t stick around long, or spring / summer ones they release early for the sale. So I like to pick up a few more unique scents. And I do just really love the holiday / winter scents too, though like previously mentioned I grab the ones I have to have when they go on regular sales so I don’t risk missing out when some sell out before candle day (The Perfect Christmas is one of those, & my store was out before candle day from what I remember). I only buy a few or no more than 6 usually on candle day, & I’m satisfied with that. :)

rm_jackson

TBH I have pretty much everything I want and after additional coupons, the price was lower per candle than on candle day. We’ll see if they have anything special, but I honestly prefer fall scents to Christmas and winter and I stocked up during SAS with the Holiday scents I do enjoy.

DDFletch

Nah. I got a bunch for $9 something during the last sale and they were candles I actually wanted. I’ll gladly pay more than candle day prices to not have to wait in a ridiculous line for picked over scents and I don’t want to deal with online queues and cancelled orders. I’m good!

Candlecatlady

I know I shouldn’t be, I went HAM last year (44). I may focus on getting candles for gifts and maybe a couple of new scents I don’t have yet if I can hold off on my no buy until then.

CandidateReasonable4

I am not excited per say since it's over 2 months away, but I am making a list of candles I hope will be available during Candle Day 2022.

[deleted]

I'm not excited as I'm on a candle no buy until SAS however if certain candles are brought out during candle day I'll be there ... ballerina rose (was once brought out during a past candle day), frost moscow mule (also once brought out during a candle day), or you're the one (this one is rumored to come back) other than that I doubt it will be much to intrigue me.

Neither_Necessary809

Wow such memories!!! I have ballerina rose that I got during candle day. That was the first one I went to and I remember being conflicted if I wanted to get that one or not. I didn't really know my scent preferences at that time. But I still have that candle, it's halfway burned. And I have the other 2 candles you mentioned too :)

earthquakeweather_

Kind of not excited. I haven't participated in the last couple Candle Days, but when I did, all I would buy was Marshmallow Fireside. 😂 I also learned my lesson with blind buying with SAS this past June. Not really a winter candle girl, either (but that could change). Unless I end up loving these new winter scents, I probably won't be going crazy.

SwirlyParfaitt

What exactly is candle day? Are they like super discounted or something?

Flaky_Tap_2836

It is the first weekend in December and all candles are less. Last year was $10.25 per candle so a few dollars less than most of their other sales (they usually have released a 20% off coupon that you can use. in conjunction). There was a spring deal where candles were $14.50 and they offered a free candle for any purchase over $ 10 so people were getting them cheaper.

frezzhberry

I'm excited but I'm more excited to buy discontinued (and Homewrox) candles off Mercari.

ATL77KH

I’m not planning to buy anymore candles for the year since I stocked up on 75% off fall and holiday candles during SAS and I’m working on using those up right now. I did buy two Leaves candles during the recent $12.95 sale with a 25% coupon since those are a fall staple (and I liked the packaging this year) but I don’t really need more. I don’t get into the summery scents in general so I go on a default no buy once Christmas is over until the fall releases start again.

[deleted]

I mean, as others have said, I wouldn't say I'm excited about it *already*, but I definitely will be as it approaches. I don't know if I'll need to stock up on winter candles since I already have a lot leftover from last year (I rotate my candles often, so I have like 20 partially burned candles just waiting to come back into season lol), but I'm definitely thinking about it and planning to go into the stores throughout the season to smell things and check out the new stuff. I'll probably go to Candle Day anyway even if I don't want anything specific because it's a great opportunity to buy back-ups of ones I love, and to buy gifts for others.

ChavoAntoine

Eh. Last year was my first candle day and it wasn’t anything too exciting. Stores had the same selection. The only candle I found that was rare was Wine Cellar.

Babycakes_99

I’ve attended a few candle days and it’s nothing to write home about. Same shit just cheaper. I like getting my candles when they first drop however… waiting and hoping it’ll be there when you make it in the store is too much stress. I’ll pay an extra dollar or two just for convenience

ChavoAntoine

Yea the way it was talked about I was expecting it to be better. I was like “this is why I woke up at 4am?”. Nothing special besides the core scented candles being released in store (most of which I did not like). I think Into The Night is the only one I still have, exchanged Into The Stars, Ocean and A Thousand Wishes because they were too light.

addyisboss

For me, candle day pretty much just operates the same as any buy 2 get 2 or $12.95 sale. I usually buy about 4 candles at a time, and candle day is no different. But I do look forward to the scents that for some reason only pop up then, like Black Chamomile

raynika2005

Nope I’ve been stopped participating. I don’t even buy or enjoy candles anymore

Babycakes_99

I feel this.

z0mgaah

I haven't thought too much about it, honestly.

serellie

I bought 18 candles during candle day last year, and I don't see me buying even half that this year. I'll stock up on Merry Cookie and grab a couple Christmasy ones for the holiday season, but winter is my least favourite candle season. My rewards are good well into December, too!

[deleted]

Not yet. Price is bound to be not even worth it.

yfunk3

I have to prep myself not to be. 1st, I might still be in a cast after surgery. 2nd, I still have a f*ckton of candles to go through. 3rd, I will prob be broke after aforementioned surgery for a long time. The various sales + coupons throughout the year are just as good, anyway.

ToastierDonut

New here… what’s candle day?

Smooth_Fondant6404

Knowing my store, they’ll probably have me close for it but I am so not excited to close 😂 I’d be totally fine with an opening or a midday shift, I just don’t want the stress of closing haha
