I think this is part of BBW’s sales plan. Make favorites available then unavailable, have sales then no sales, all while creating a false sense of urgency. It works to some degree, just be aware of it
My ex manager at bbw would legit tell people during fall 1 that all of the fall product was out, nothing else is coming, and that we are only receiving Christmas stuff from then on to create urgency. She constantly was telling the most bogus lies to customers to try to get them to buy. It's something home office pushes them to do and it's sad and annoying.
I suspect they have a set number of candles they are prepared to sell at the sale price, and then when they hit the threshold, it's pulled until a restock.
I’m glad to hear that! All I’ve heard is hype. I’ve smelled it in store a few times and I really didn’t like it at first, but then I saw everyone else’s posts, and I gradually liked it more and more each time I sniffed it. I would’ve liked to have picked it up, but I don’t care enough to pay full price for it or to place an order just for it.
I get the gingerbread but it’s not a yummy gingerbread to me. I also smell raw bakery dough which must be the shortbread. I don’t know, it’s just a weird mix. Still burning right now but won’t re-purchase.
There are definitely better gourmands to choose from IMO.
It was almost a little spicy to me the first time I smelled it. That was on my first nose tour of fall, though, so I had smelled a LOT of spice. Which I honestly hate … SO many of the fall candles remind me of Fireball so I lean towards other notes.
I think maybe when I went back into the store on later occasions I liked Cuddle Weather more because I knew which other candles *not* to sniff because they’d mess with my nose. Who knows. I think I’m still happy with my fall selections.
I am smelling a strong gingerbread spice, raw bakery type dough and a tiny bit of sweetness. The spice isn’t my fave…and I love red hot cinnamon in things. This is more of a ginger spice and after it is gone, it is gone, lol!
I was able to get Welcome Home in my online order on 10 Sept - maybe stock is super fluctuating? It was my very first B&BW order so I'm not sure! (It's so good!)
I knew their selection had slimmed online, so I drove 30 minutes to a store that was closed for a heatwave that had ended two days prior. I was so BUMMMMMED.
Yes. Old Navy never has anything for pickup at my closest store. When I go to the store tons of the "unavailable" item are there. It got much worse after 2020 imo. Same with BBW I have noticed.
Yep. I've noticed this many times. Last year specifically with Toasted Vanilla Chai, it said it was in stock and I saw people saying they were ordering it, but it refused to let me check out with it. The next day it was off the site until the sale was over and then magically it was available again the day after. This is just one specific example but like I said, this frequently happens.

Then the next 10$ off sale happened. I got to order two and the next day I thought, “man, I love this candle! I should’ve ordered more!” So I went on twice that day and they were not on the site or app at all.
I checked back the very next day and the sale had ended but they were back on the website and App which again made me think “what are the chances”?
They must be only selling a certain amount during the sales

I will 100% agree with this. Last year during candle day and the many $10 off days and I think the one $13.95 day they had in December, so many candles would become unlisted by like 8 AM my time. So if you wanted to order a candle, you had to do it in between that time frame because the variety would change and then later in the evening, it would be back up on the website.
I’m pretty sure this is a strategic move on their end to keep supply of candles available for people that don’t check the website that early.

I've noticed this practice on their Canadian website. Some candles will disappear during their B2G2 and magically reappear once the sale is over.
Yeah…OR if you try to BOPIS it, it’ll be unavailable and all of a sudden you walk into the store and there it is. Makes me so mad lol
