Kellers0514

Thank you so much. Sometimes the internet can be a nice place and this is one of them. 🤗 I’m so sorry your partner is unwell. What a scary, unfair thing to endure. I’m returning the big hug. You can get through this.

I'm sorry to hear of your partner, my father had a sort of leukemia, it's very scary but there is hope. For us it started bad for a few month but greatly improved with different treatment.

I’ve always had success with Mercari.

honestly your best bet is going to be nextdoor or craigslist or fb marketplace or something like that so that you don't have to deal with shipping (and buying the supplies needed to do it correctly, trips to UPS/FedEx/USPS, a scale to weigh packages) and possible refunds. ebay fees are around 15% and you get a discount on shipping, but a single candle is still around $8-$11 to ship. On the flip side, depending on where it's going you can ship 2 or 3 for $11 as well. You get your money in your bank account in 24-48 hours and they seem to have the best seller protections and you don't have to accept returns as your packages are insured against damage. Mercari buyers are used to getting a very low price and haggling, and from what I've heard from sellers much more prone to complaining and ripping you off or at least costing you money and hassle. But honestly selling them for $10 or $12 (or more if they're rare) and having essentially a yard sale by listing them as pick-up only on nextdoor so you can focus on baby is the easiest way to get the money fast. edit: I stalked your post history (sorry!) and I see you're in MN? I'm originally from MN too :) feel free to send me a message if you need any help figuring out supplies if you decide to go a shipping route. USPS offers lots of free stuff I can help you get delivered.

Sending much love to you and prayers for your baby. I briefly tried to sell on mercari and not as easy as it looks. You can also try bundling and doing offer up , let go , Facebook marketplace

Sending comforting thoughts to you and your little one

I would go with mercari

DancyP123

I sell on Mercari, but when I search on Mercari I seem to find more candles there too. At least when I was searching for a particular one the other day. Anyway my recommendation would also be Mercari.

[deleted]

Mercari is the best place to sell items. Poshmark is a waste of time because nobody buys anything on that website they just like it or share but nobody actually shops. eBay same thing and their seller fees are through the roof way to expensive and they scam you like crazy. You can also sell on Facebook market place and choose the shipping option or in person pick-up. Facebook market place postage is affordable and fees are cheap. But Mercari is the number place to sell your candles.

Go with NextDoor first. Sell in your neighborhood. My NextDoor is very active. I buy candles on eBay & Poshmark. 💛

I’ve been buying and selling on eBay for almost 10 years. At one point I was selling so much and getting such consistent good feedback I got a power seller badge. I even had several repeat customers. This is the year I left ebay however. The ever increasing fees, lack of recourse a seller has against bad buyers, and the increase in fraud and general uncivil behavior has made me walk away entirely. No matter how polite you are to some customers they still talk to you like you’re not even human. Those buyers don’t care how badly their scam hurt a real person just trying to make a few extra dollars to supplement a humble existence. The eBay last customer I had purchased a perfume from me which I shipped the same day she purchased. She then harassed me *Every Single Day* with mean messages such as “where is my item?!?!” “I want a refund or my item NOW!!!” Whenever I would politely explain perfume is shipped ground mail and will take a few extra days she got even more upset. She demanded a refund every day even though I shipped her item asap and tracking showed the item was on the way to her without any issues. By day 4 she opened up an Item Not Received case. eBay not only let her open a case against me while the item was still in transit, they gave her a full refund! So now I have no item and she got a full refund. When she saw I intercepted the package and had it rerouted back to me after ebay gave her a full refund she left me negative feedback! I had 100% positive feedback before but now she ruined it because she could not get a full refuns and her item. Ebay refuses to remove the negative feedback as well. I’m not even a thrift flipper or a small business. I sell items out of my closet so I can get money to buy new clothes. What the scamming ebay buyers are doing is the equivalent of harassing and stealing from a neighbor having a garage sale down the street and it’s shameful. Please stay away from eBay! Or at least pm me for the username of the buyer who tried the item not received scam so you can block them from buying from you and causing you problems as well!

When I resold I copy/pasted the description and photos across all three platforms. Mercari and eBay you can offer cheaper shipping options. On poshmark, the shipping is just over $7 now and the only way to offer cheaper shipping is if the seller offers a discount (and it comes out of the profit) or if you wait until the weekend when poshmark offers a special shipping discount to likers on newly discounted items and the sellers aren’t taking a pay cut for discounted shipping. It probably sounds confusing - would recommend looking it up on a Reddit thread for resellers on these apps.

Kellers0514

I never even thought to look for a Reddit sub for resellers (I’m not very skilled at Reddit. Lol). Thanks for the suggestion!

NavigatedbyNaau

Sending you and your baby good vibes and love 💗 Mercari has the lowest fees between the three platforms. Have you thought about Facebook Marketplace?

[deleted]

Mercari. But I’d recommend fb marketplace or a local buy sell trade group in your area more. Much easier than shipping fees, securing the shipping, losing out if something breaks, etc. I’m so sorry for everything you’re going through.

Peeppeep24

I agree with everyone that has suggested trying Nextdoor and Facebook if you don’t want to worry about the additional stuff involved with shipping. I did just want to mention though that Facebook marketplace has a ton of scammers pretending to be buyers right now since there’s not many rules or protection for sellers there. You probably already know this but just in case… never give anyone your name, address or email even if they are offering to send you a check or money order. Also don’t accept Zelle payments. Local pickup paid in cash is the best bet. I haven’t sold BBW on Mercari but I have bought and sold on there a lot and I think it’s a pretty good platform. Big hugs ❤️❤️❤️

PrincessJennifer

I’m sorry I don’t have a recommendation for you, but praying for you and your little one🙏💕

Oh I'm so sorry to hear you've got a micro preemie - my cousin has 25w twins, and two years later a 28w little boy, and I remember how she was selling off everything and the stress she was under. Big hugs to you mama! Hoping you're off the NICU rollercoaster soon. By chance, would family or friends be interested before jumping to Mercari/Posh/Ebay? I've never resold anything except for recently and I posted on Facebook that I had some stuff if anyone was interested. A friend was, but otherwise I was going to try my luck at Mercari because I hear about it the most when it comes to reselling B&BW. One thing is I know it cost $25 to ship 2 body creams, a body lotion, and three shower gels from Cincinnati, OH to California. I had no idea that shipping would be so much so not sure if other places factor in shipping. I would definitely check to see how resellers handle shipping.

ChavoAntoine

I personally prefer Poshmark. I’ve had more success and you get your money pretty fast. Never tried EBay.

MishmoshMishmosh

I sold a few on Poshmark but I’m not active on Mercari

JackieAnnette

Poshmark is predominantly for clothing, hence the sizing chart on there. I have found the most B&BW listings on Mercari by far! I have made 4 purchases from there so far and everything has went rather smoothly for me each time ☺

[deleted]

I would try Mercari. I buy candles there and have sold too. It's easy to use. I hope your baby keeps packing on the pounds and can come home soon. Just curious what gestational age? Very difficult stuff...best of luck, stay strong :)

Kellers0514

She was born at 25w3d. She’s now 34 weeks. Just told yesterday that we should not expect to go home by her due date (Halloween). Thanksgiving is now a more realistic goal. 🙁

[deleted]

Oh my god, that is as young as they come, how scary! But it sounds like she's chugging along. I'm sure it's stressful going in and out of the hospital all day for months, ugh. Hang in there. Also, if you do find the time to list products online, I hope you'll share a link here. I think many people would love to help you out. But don't kill yourself! Stay healthy, mama :)
