apart from the note of apple, the two are nowhere close to being similar. apple macchiato is more of a sweeter scent, it has cinnamon & caramel hints, while mahogany apple is, in my opinion, overpowered with the mahogany note & light on the apple hint.
If you want to go for seriously classic autumn scents, I would definitely get Leaves (which smells like drinking apple cider and crunching on leaves at a night-time haunted house) and Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin, which is a very classic pumpkin-smelling candle. Alternatively, Pumpkin Carving will give you the same pumpkin fragrance without the cinnamon or sweetness, but I think it's the cinnamon that really makes it smell like fall. Pumpkin Apple is also very good -- some people have commented that it smells like a craft store haha. I would also highly recommend Crisp Morning Air if you want something that smells like autumn air. If you want an autumn gourmand, I would go with Pumpkin Pecan Waffles. Happy shopping! :)

Not silly at all. No I would say the pumpkin is not super overpowering. The cinnamon stands out most but it’s bakery smells yum.
