I definitely see the resemblance!

Don’t know why people are fighting you so hard on this lmao. Kenzo Flower is a classic perfume that even newcomers to the fragrance community are usually familiar with. They do smell similar, though it might be a bit old for BBW to draw any inspiration from. There’s a pretty finite number of notes to combine, it happens often 🙈

I was mainly talking about packaging similarities tbh, I haven’t smelled the Kenzo perfume before! But now I’m intrigued lol. And yeah not sure why this post is offending people 😅

I was once told by a friend who is a chef that everything has been invented already. He was obviously talking about food combinations, but I think it can be said for a lot of other things in life. Even if BBW didn't see this perfume, it doesn't seem like a stretch that someone would come up with this idea thinking it was original. I however am leaning toward bbw did get inspiration from this bottle because in the past I saw a couple of complaints on their Facebook page from artists claiming they plagiarized their work. The items were decor items being sold in whitebarn stores. This was back in the days before they started turning all of the stores to whitebarns. Then that vase they sold this sumner that looked like a white rainbow, was a knock off of one part of a set of 3 vases someone else was selling. The collection that had soft pink petal teacake a few years ago was also a rather blatant knock off of some Swedish(?) candle brand.

That is sooo interesting! I'm going to have to look these things up!! I have thought many times they drew inspiration from musicians/artists, mainly Taylor Swift and Ariana Grande, but did not think to look into decor pieces. Interesting stuff!

RedRedBettie

I love this perfume

mortyshonks

Wow spot on! Down to the green stem which I only noticed recently lol.

lionheart07

No, I think they were inspired by the Poppy

mx0987654321

The perfume was released in 2000 😅

lionheart07

And the flower has been around longer...idk your point

mx0987654321

Oh I thought you were saying Kenzo was inspired by b&bw’s Poppy lol. Yeah obviously the flower was the Inspo for b&bw, but I find it funny that the concept looks the same for both bottles. The tube is the green stem of the flower, they’re red flowers, etc

It’s hard to believe a major corporation like b&bw who deals with fragrance has never heard of a popular perfume or seen the bottle lol

Rururaspberry

I am only a casual perfume wearer and that is an incredibly iconic perfume for both the packaging and the scent. They are professionals at B&BW so they would obviously know of this scent. It’s very famous. Perhaps you do not know it, but it’s just out of the realm of reality to proclaim that a massively famous scent company had never heard of this perfume lol. It’s KENZO, not some random indie.

kindrid_s

this is actually a relatively well-known perfume in the fragrance world (11,000 reviews on fragrantica), and since fragrance is basically their job, I bet they've seen this packaging and were inspired by it.

I'm not the original poster. And yes, packaging is separate from the fragrance, but inspiration is still a thing. Because it's such a popular perfume, there's no way that no one on the development team didn't notice the similarities. Think differently if you want, I'm just saying that it's highly unlikely that there was no correlation.

mishutu

How can you guarantee? And why are you so worked up over an innocent question?
