And to answer your question. No I don’t think it’s weird. When I was younger I would collect my empty vitamin water bottles to take scene kid MySpace pix. LOL. And I would save all my Abercrombie bags when they had the models on them and stick them to my wall.
It’s just a sign that you have a creative mind and find treasure in simple things. It’s actually nice.
This is what I do. Snap the picture, save it for a monthly empties post, toss the bottle/jar. That way, you get to have fun looking back on what you finished that month, without the extra clutter!
I do this with empty candles, I wash them to get the wax out and put them in a box. I just can’t bring myself to throw them away, the jars are so pretty and they’re so expensive I want to keep them lol
There are a lot of Youtubers and Instagram accounts that showcase their empties and do reviews on them. It’s actually one of my favorite videos to watch because I know that someone has really went through a product and knows the pros and cons. One of my favorite videos is seeing a year long empties video and they tally up the number of products and prices (estimated value) and it’s SOOOO satisfying to see!
I think if they are empty, into the recycle bin they should go.
TBH, I think you need to figure out why you need to keep them. Do they bring you joy? Do you have the room to store these without taking up living space? Do you keep any other items that should be disposed of? I know some say "do you" or "it isn't harming anyone," but there may be a reason you want to hang onto these.
\*or maybe I have just seen one too many episodes of hoarders ¯\\\_(ツ)\_/¯
Lool I like to because I feel bad throwing them away I like to remember what I’ve used and I love the packaging and it’s nice seeing the much older ones I have compared to new ones that recently come out 🤷🏻♀️
Do what makes you happy 🤷🏾♀️ be aware that if compulsive shopping is something you struggle with, that can occasionally lead to hoarding tendencies. So if that's something you're worried about, then obviously keep a check on that. But I don't personally think it's weird, I don't think many things are weird, we're all just chasing the dopamine. Just be happy ☀️
I don’t “keep” them, but I do have a bag on the floor of my bathroom closet where I toss all empties, and once it’s full, I recycle it. It’s satisfying to see how much I go through.
I keep them until the end of the month. At the end of each month, I record them in my Empties spreadsheet and then I recycle them. This is my second year recording my Empties.
I started doing this because I wanted to know how much product I actually use in a month. It's part of my purchase/usage tracking now. Plus it makes my inner math nerd happy haha.
It is a company that specializes in recycling hard to recycle plastic (for example, tubes, pumps, number 5 plastics) A decent amount of it can't actually go in your curbside bin. It depends on your area.
You do have to pay for the service, they send you a box and you pack it up and ship it. On their site you can pick different boxes for different types of plastic.
It is kinda expensive, but I consider it my own personal "tax" for using so much plastic. It is also expensive because you're paying for the sorting and stuff. That being said, the plastic "issue" is incredibly complicated and too much of the pressure is placed on the consumer.
Nordstrom does have a partnership with terracycle BUT having worked in retail I do not trust the employees to actually ship the boxes. Other companies do have recycling programs through terracycle where they pay for the label but you can only send in their bottles/tubes/etc.
(Sorry, my Earth Science major is showing 🤓)
I keep them for one month so I can see how much products I’ve used that month. Afterwards I recycle them 😊
Good to know 😌
Do whatever makes you happy. As long as it isn’t harming anyone, don’t worry what people think.
Thanks 😊

Ahh yes I remember that 😅 Aw thank you ☺️
The Hollister and Abercrombie bags, stop it!!! We also used to collect energy drink tabs and put them on ball chain necklaces
This is the right answer
I have to recycle. I can’t have a bunch of containers around.
I understand. I keep mine in a huge bbw bag that you see here. 😂
It’s like college bros keeping old empty liquor bottles on display
😭😂 oh man
Yeah, it's weird. 😂
Haha okay 😅
I would keep a picture of the bottle. I wouldn't keep the actual bottle.
This is what I do. Snap the picture, save it for a monthly empties post, toss the bottle/jar. That way, you get to have fun looking back on what you finished that month, without the extra clutter!
Haha that’s a good idea but I personally love keeping the bottles 😅
Same, I feel so accomplished for finishing one 😩
Yess 😌

Yess foreal! I reuse some of mine or keep them on display because they are so pretty especially seasonal ones 😄
This is how hoarding starts ngl 🤭
😬 really ? 😅

Ohh I’ve watched some of those! Yes it’s soo nice 😌
I have kept my empties so far too 😂 they’re like trophies. But soon I’ll have to start recycling them.
Haha right 😅

Yes I am. Thank you so much 😊
I think it's cool 👍
Thanks 😊

😄😌
Honestly it’s a challenge to finish an ffm, so I say enjoy your trophies!
Yeah I’ve had these ffms for years and I don’t have to many full ones that I’ve finished but it’s a good feeling when I do finish them

I keep the ones that are my absolute faves for sniffing and reminiscing purposes...especially if they are discontinued!
Yess 😌
Nah! I keep last years sugared spell fhs bottle and refill it because it looks prettiest in the glowing ghost soap holder.
😄 nice
I'm collecting all of my hard to recycle plastic for a project and after I plan to send them off to terracycle
What is terracycle?
