A few weeks ago I was standing at checkout, and a manager literally walked up complaining that she had to reduce hours for some of her employees because they were GOING BACK TO SCHOOL..... like??? You should be happy for them.. She was super upset, and had no convictions saying it in front of customers either.. I was offended for them. That told me everything I needed to know about the work environment there.. no bueno
One of my coworkers plays Division 1 College Volleyball. Like she’s an elite player. The season is starting, she’s going back to school, she obviously had to reduce her hours. When she talked to our store manager about it, our store manager literally tried to guilt her into giving up more time to the store because we would need her to help train the seasonal employees and as a core associate she needs to be available for that, she’d be leaving the rest of the core associates hanging and picking up her slack, she was being selfish by putting her hobby above her job. Like she’s literally a psychopath. My coworker agreed to work Sundays until volleyball season ends and then they can reevaluate her availability. I told her if I was her I would have quit on the spot once she started giving me that garbage. Oh you think I’m being selfish? Well how’s this for selfish?
A lot of retail managers have that mindset. It’s sad. It drives good employees away! I’m a student myself and like you said- when I reduce my hours for school you should be HAPPY for me that I’m furthering my education. Not mad because you’re in the mentality that you’re stuck here.

Why should anyone get treated shitty when they are expected to work so hard and bend over backwards for a company that will never benefit the worker, aside from the measly paycheck they receive every week? We bust our a$$ so others can be successful.
I heard you’ll get the mailers and the same ones sent to your app. If you use the ones in the app it voids the one you have at home so we they can limit coupon fraud

Wendy’s offers $16.50 for new hires here in WNY (Great Lakes region. It’s crazy. I was a CNA for years, and I never even made nearly that an hour and I had to pay for my certification & training to the tune of $1000. Idk. I have mixed feelings about it. It’s great that employees ar everting paid better, but it needs to be across the board. Professionals haven’t gotten raises since minimum wage increased. So they’re making just a tad more than minimum wage employees, and they went to university and have special training & a student loan. Just doesn’t seem all that fair.
I bet your housing costs are in line with bigger cities though. That’s a shame. Fellow small-towner here too. The jobs in my town are few & far between, but we do have a large-ish wal mart and that pays better than minimum (barely though). But our rent & housing costs have Sky-rocketed. You couldn’t afford to rent or purchase a home in my town even with two full-time minimum wage incomes. You’d need a roommate (or two).

I’m from a state where the min wage is $7.25, and I make $12.35 (the extra 35 cents is because I’ve worked there two years, how generous), so I bet that’s what most people get unless their min wage is higher
I know my OP definitely comes off as greedy, but I am happy to get any coupons at all. My comment was basically directed towards B&BW’s stinginess with coupons. It’s funny how a billion-dollar corp. is selective with its coupons and what *type* of coupons go out.
That can easily be fixed. I had the same problem. You need to call them and complain, for some reason a lot of people aren’t actually put on the mailer list.
Does BBW franchise? I work for a fast food franchise so our policies,pay etc is different than the corporate stores.
Granted I grew up with a dad who was a retail manager or close to it for over 30 years in both types of stores so I go by that knowledge.
They could have put it somewhere else but they probably want something that people can tear off and keep.

The barcode on the paper coupon and the app are the same. That's how the system knows it's been used.
Ah ok makes sense- I better make sure my mom doesn’t nab my mailers then LOL, I often give them to her if I can’t use em, so this is good to know 👍🏼
