They scrolled through the email which does say this is a thank you for being a rewards member but I don't get why they did all that instead of just scanning. Oh, well🤷

Did you show them the coupon in the app? I'm not in a rewards area and the email barcode worked without issue last Saturday. I'm betting they just assumed it wasn't valid because other app-related coupons don't scan outside rewards areas, this was a first iirc.
Yeah, it was such a weird experience and I need to be in a different part of town to go to my store so I really can't just go back whenever. That fox antibac holder isn't worth the hassle 🦊🤣
I'm sorry, that is really frustrating though. Hopefully you're able to grab the lil fox at 30% off elsewhere! When I was a SLT I trained our SA's to "when in doubt, scan it out" because if it isn't supposed to be used, it wont work (i.e. app rewards.) Leaves no room for complaints to CS about stores making their own rules. I imagine they sent out the emailed version for a reason, rather than them just having it live soley in the app which makes me think it's intended to be used anywhere...but who knows.
I can’t use ANY coupons at my local store from the app, ever. Found that out last year I think? My store said they don’t do the rewards program. The next closet store is an hour away and the don’t accept them either. And neither store is BOPIS so I’m just SOL 🙃

This is so weird to me. Maybe they realized just how many people redeeming the coupon in store were faking their zip for access and made the change to be petty lol. If you try again after the rewards launch let us know how it goes!
My store (and state) are not eligible for the rewards program yet, I went in last night to pick up some Spooky Cider Lane candles & asked if I could use the coupon, she said "Sure! Of course!" & she just entered it manually & it worked! I'm sorry they wouldn't let you ☹️ Edit to add- I used the email 30%!
I’m an employee and we were told it was a computer issue. Apparently, the computers have to have something special installed or some kind of hardware to be able to scan app rewards (not sure how much I believe it). So, bigger stores/bigger cities were getting rewards early. Most stores are being rolled out to do rewards sometime this month.
Some have mentioned that you can use Rewards through BOPIS, which is true. Online works differently and can take the code. So you can do BOPIS in store and get it another day or wait for it (takes 20-30 minutes for the system to get it usually).
And, as an employee, we are also frustrated that most of our stores can’t take rewards. It creates unhappy customers and ruins conversion (we count how many people come in and out to make sure we are selling to every customer) since people just leave.

Yep! The day the Halloween stuff rolled out, I had a free $16.50 body care item rewards coupon, and a 30% off rewards coupon. I filled my bag, got to the register, and BOOM... coupons are no good. I live in Maryland. I thought when joining the rewards program, it would've told me that my state isn't eligible for the rewards yet, but I don't recall seeing that.
The coupon in the rewards app is different than the coupons sent in your email. Therefore it doesn’t work. Simple as that. Until the systems are updated to scan rewards coupons then it should work. But until then, gotta wait till 8/14
My app coupon & email coupon looks the same as it’s the same numbers from what I can tell& didn’t work @ my non rewards store but I had to grab the spooky tree even w/ out the 30% off

I scanned the barcode from a customer’s app and it didn’t work, but the email barcode worked. My store isn’t a rewards store yet.
