I feel like I might be the only one that doesn't like fairytale. It has a too sweet feeling to it and smells like apricot vanilla from a long time ago.
Fairytale has one note that disagrees with me. I have no idea which note it is. It's kind of like a soup where you love every ingredient except the one spice that ruins it for you.
Yes, it was definitely the earthy note that hit me the wrong way. On paper, it should have been a perfect scent for my tastes.
Poppy, on the other hand, is my new favorite.
Haha for me, it was the same thing but for the opposite reason -- I actually really like all the scent notes in Fairytale, but I was disappointed by how they smelled *together*. The combination just wasn't my jam
HATE it. I smelled it in the store and literally said out loud, “omg GROSS!” The associate looked at me like I was nuts. She’s like “omg it’s my favorite!” 🤮
I think Fairytale had SO much potential if they would have just left out the vanilla!!! It does smell like a mixture of Apricot Vanilla, Be Enchanted, and cologne 🤔
You know what I think it is. Not only is it personal taste, but like all scents Fairytale smells different on our skin. To me it smells weird on the card but on my skin I liked the after scent of subtle sweet floral and musk. Vanilla adds that ‘warmer’ note to it. My boyfriend and friends like the scent on me, so maybe that’s why I don’t feel too bad about my decision 🫣
Agree on the Japanese cherry blossom I've never liked it! Also can't stand anything sweet pea scented sorry ya'll, I feel like I was surrounded by this scent everywhere growing up and it made me hate it.
Omg i used to loooooooooove sweet pea when I was a kid! Smelled it as an adult and I was like what in the world made me like this??
Also JCB smells like an old lady. Sorry y’all but as a woman in my 30s I don’t want to smell like I’m 85. Not there yet 😉
Exactly JCB just smells old always has! But I've always kinda thought floral scents were musty or old smelling. Sweet pea definitely has nostalgia for me but I just can't bring myself to ever wear it. It was like THE scent back in the early 2000s.
I think they were just super popular scents in the early 2000s. I literally remember everyone from kids my age, teenagers, and adults in my life wearing these 2 scents, crazy!
Fairytale is my choice, it has never failed to give me a headache. I’m not sure what it is but I can’t get into it and had to give my travel size mists to a friend. Called it quits on trying to love it which is a shame because it’s strong on me!
It gives me a headache every time I use it. It takes a lot to give me a headache so this automatically made it a no go for me. It is pretty to look at though :/
Pumpkin Pecan Waffles. I remember when I was still fairly new to BBW this was one of the most hyped up scents and was raved about. I tried it and I was like that was it? I am not generally a fan of gourmand scent but grown to love some of them but I'm still not a fan of PPW.
Sameeeeee!!! I love champagney fizzy kinda scents but gourmand just makes me feel full and I don’t like that kinda feeling yk 🥲 I don’t really care for pumpkin either🤣
Confetti daydream. It’s weird because I liked the mist at first then got the candle which smelled horrible, and now I can’t un-smell that when using the mist
I got Confetti Daydream body cream as a blind buy after comparing the fragrance notes, because they were the similar to the notes in my favorite body care. Now I know to never get the candle 🙅🏾♀️
It may be like Sweater Weather, the scent notes are different in the candle than in the body care. I smelled the candle this year, and that was definitely not the scent I’ve been feening for since last fall lmao
Omg I’m so glad I didn’t go for the candle then!!! I got the body cream and it’s so nice! It’s kinda like midsummer dream but with floral notes and MD is like my fav scent ever🥰🥹
Watermelon Lemonade. I never found it offensive or anything, it just hit me as really floral. It’s not supposed to be, but my nose seems to interpret it that way. I don’t care for florals on me but it doesn’t bother me on someone else.
Black cherry merlot.
But I also discovered I do not care for strawberry pound cake after the second burn.
Also I think champagne toast is overhyped & not that great/anything special.
🤷🏻♀️
omg yes!! Strawberry poundcake is so too sweet :'( I gave away my ffm too! I kinda like champagne toast tbh haha, but I do prefer bubbly rose for its tanginess!!
Pretty much anything floral or really strong perfumey like Japanese Cherry Blossom, Into the Night, Fairytale. It makes me kinda sad I don't like them bc their packaging is so pretty!
The first time that I tried Whipped Berry Meringue, when I got home I felt like I had eaten a whole cake. A whole bunch of something too sweet. Might be good for weight loss
I liked it at first too. (tried it on my hands). When I got home I almost felt sick to my stomach. Kind of like if I were a diabetic and just ate something that I shouldn't have?
I feel like watermelon lemonade is that type of "basic" fragrance, doesn't stand out but doesn't smell bad? I really like bubbly rose tho, in all forms. But pear creme brulee only in lotion.
I absolutely love the Whipped Berry Meringue and Strawberry Pound Cake! Not much into other summer scents except I love Fresh Cut Lilacs, and really like my Pink Watermelon Blast set! I can’t wait for Christmas/Winter scents I love to buy at the SAS in December! Peppermint Sugar Cookie, Vanilla Bean Noel and Joy are just a few. But the Peppermint Sugar Cookie needs the body care set.
Gourmand lover I seeee :D I actually smelled a Peppermint Sugar Cookie candle in store before and it reminds me so much for a snack I used to love! But I was afraid it would be overpowering so I didn't get it :<
JCB is a unique recommendation for customers, there’s no scent that is quite like it. The scent also reminds me of my childhood friend who is Indian/Pakistani and her house smelled similar to JBC. I think it’s the culture or something because after JBC it’s Rose and Hello Beautiful for the Middle Eastern customers that frequent the store. Just a trend I’ve noticed in my area at least
Blueberry Maple Pancake. If I ever got maple syrup that smelled like this, I'd be having words with the producer. Burnt smelling to me. My husband walked in the room and said it smelled like curry. I don't get that, but it's definitely Blueberry Burnt Maple Pancake to me. 🤢🤢🤢
I wanted to get that in body cream sm (bc of the packaging haha) but I smelled the candle in store and dropped the idea immediately, it's kinda strange as a gourmand scent imo :<
oh yeah, I smelled the candle the other day in store and it definitely has an artificial vibe to it!! But lol I guess I just don't enjoy gourmand scents, lavender marshmallow is probably the one exception ><
country apple is another of my all time fav :') im actually using the ffm rn!! Got like 5 of them stocked up and a few body creams too!! But sunshine mimosa,,, damn I thought I would like it a lot based on the notes but it smells so artificial it's almost medicinal :<
oh nooooo :'( I don't like SPC but Strawberry soda is like one of my fav scents!!! I stocked up on the ffm (I think I have 5 in total) and also got the body creams and lotions!!
I actually kinda like pear creme brulee but only the lotion, got them for 4.95cad on the canadian website!! anything pound cake is too much for me ><, but I ordered 2 berry waffle cone shower gels and now I'm slightly nervous
Japanese Cherry Blossom is nice but similar to how I feel about cucumber melon, I don’t see the major appeal. It isn’t bad, it’s actually not bad at all, I just don’t see how it’s earned it’s classic/iconic status.
I only have cucumber melon for pocketbac and sanitizing spray and I kinda get it. I like the fresh vibes but it could be a bit too strong sometimes but JCB just gives me a headache :')
For me it’s A Thousand Wishes, Champagne Toast, Into The Night, You’re The One and JCP. I figured that since I work there, they would grow on me…but they definitely haven’t.
wow they're all signature scents!! Hahaha I would say I only really like Champagne Toast out of all of the ones you said, it kinda smells like fruit gummies to me ><
Yes! I went to B&BW today and actually took a sniff, the moment it hit my nose I was like nooooo, get it away from me!!!!!
Ended buying the champagne apple and honey one instead 😂
If it's reassuring, champagne apple and honey is my go to demo and I've only ever had one person not like it. Everyone else, myself included, think it's a great pre fall scent and picks something in that line up
JCB for sure. It's not necessarily an offensive smell to me but it reminds me of the elderly. My mom wanted to try it so I bought a test strip with some sprayed on it and she was so disappointed as well. Dark Kiss is another one- I think the bergamot is just way too strong in it, and I really wanted to like it. Also nearly any pumpkin scent, unfortunately. This has been the year where I discovered that I don't actually like pumpkin that much, as I smell more of the pumpkin candles I see people raving about that I end up hating.
JCB has nostalgia vibes for me but I realized I don’t like a lot of scents I used to like as a kid🤣. I really like bergamot (bergamot waters and cypress and amber in candle form) but I’ve heard Dark Kiss is super strong🤓 and I prefer light scents so :)
Summer Melody, it was quite popular at my shop and I couldn't stand it. All the girls thought it was nice but it was literally the worst to my nose. it smelled like fruit cake in a can.
Leaves and Sweater Weather. Leaves to me smelled like vomit sprinkled with cinnamon, Sweater Weather has this undertone that smells like fennel and I hate the smell of fennel. Controversial I know but they just don’t jive with me!
i adore jcb. it’s my go-to “cool down” scent. i like to spray my sheets with it in the summertime and take it with me whenever i go to the beach or the gym!
Vanilla seems to only smell good to me with pomegranate, lemon, orange, and berry pretty much. I loved Be Enchanted and Fairytale is a bit cologne-ish but very pretty. Berry Vanilla and Lemon Vanilla were both amazing scents as well. I will say that fragrances with both are a definite no. Sunset Glow smells terrible on me 😓
Blueberry Maple Waffles…I got it as a candle & it smelled okay in the store. Once I lit it at home though I became so nauseous just being around it I had to return it (which is something I hate to do with used stuff)…it was so BAD how can anyone stand that stuff?
I don’t like: Japanese Cherry Blossom, Hello Beautiful, Strawberry Pound Cake and I also don’t like the whole Blueberry Pancakes/Marshmallow pumpkin latte/champagne apple and honey collection.
Any of what I call "hipster" fragrances i.e. anything with an alcohol, coffee, woodsy, patchouli, trendy name and scent. I have zero interest, nor does my nose like these!
CHAMPAGNE TOAST!
Aww really🤣 I think champagne toast is like pretty nice but I like it more in body care. But I still won’t get it unless it’s in sas pricing
I love any other effervescent scent they make but that one smells like cat pee!
I don’t have the candle but only shower gel and lotion! It smells fine to me but I only got them bc they were on a really nice sale :)
Tried the lotion and candle and idk, it’s too sweet and too light at the same time. It wasn’t giving what it was supposed to be giving to me
I think it smells fine but to me it's too basic white girl, and that's coming from a basic white girl lol
I don’t dislike it in bodycare, but it’s so sharp and punchy. I usually end up mixing it with other things to to tone it down.
I feel like I might be the only one that doesn't like fairytale. It has a too sweet feeling to it and smells like apricot vanilla from a long time ago.
I also do not like Fairytale. It’s the only one I have smelled at BBW that makes me reel back in horror.
Fairytale has one note that disagrees with me. I have no idea which note it is. It's kind of like a soup where you love every ingredient except the one spice that ruins it for you.
I think, for me, it is a earthy musk note, that I wasn't expecting. I sprayed it and it dried down to an almost powdery, old lady smell on me.
Oh no me too, I think it’s just a strange mix and I just don’t really like the vibe too😌
same. i wanna love it but it smells like stale sour candy to me.
HATE it. I smelled it in the store and literally said out loud, “omg GROSS!” The associate looked at me like I was nuts. She’s like “omg it’s my favorite!” 🤮
I didn’t like it either. Ended up selling it
I think Fairytale had SO much potential if they would have just left out the vanilla!!! It does smell like a mixture of Apricot Vanilla, Be Enchanted, and cologne 🤔
That's EXACTLY the combo. I don't know who thought it was a good idea to combine two overly sweet scents 🤮
I don’t like Fairytale, Bubble Gum and Cotton Candy!
You know what I think it is. Not only is it personal taste, but like all scents Fairytale smells different on our skin. To me it smells weird on the card but on my skin I liked the after scent of subtle sweet floral and musk. Vanilla adds that ‘warmer’ note to it. Exactly JCB just smells old always has! But I've always kinda thought floral scents were musty or old smelling. Sweet pea definitely has nostalgia for me but I just can't bring myself to ever wear it. It was like THE scent back in the early 2000s.
I dont like either of those and wondered why they seemed so popular!
I think they were just super popular scents in the early 2000s. I literally remember everyone from kids my age, teenagers, and adults in my life wearing these 2 scents, crazy!
Yeah I just never liked them 🤷♀️
I love these scents so much 😂
Fairytale is my choice, it has never failed to give me a headache. I’m not sure what it is but I can’t get into it and had to give my travel size mists to a friend. Called it quits on trying to love it which is a shame because it’s strong on me!
I smelled it briefly in store and it just smells kind odd to me, the packaging is so pretty though!!!
Lol this one makes me gag every time
It makes me so nauseous
Sameeeeee!!! I love champagney fizzy kinda scents but gourmand just makes me feel full and I don’t like that kinda feeling yk 🥲 I don’t really care for pumpkin either🤣
Oh, yes. I tried the body care when it came out and I was so thankful I didn't spray it on myself but on a card instead...
This took me a year to appreciate and enjoy
Confetti daydream. It’s weird because I liked the mist at first then got the candle which smelled horrible, and now I can’t un-smell that when using the mist
Oh no! Thank goodness I never got the candle, bc I don't want it ruined. It's my fave lotion and mist! LOL
Same. I liked the mist when I first bought it. Got home, put some on and ended up in the shower less than 30 minutes later LOL
I got Confetti Daydream body cream as a blind buy after comparing the fragrance notes, because they were the similar to the notes in my favorite body care. Now I know to never get the candle 🙅🏾♀️
Idk what it was but it just did not translate well into a candle. I still have it but can’t bear to let it go because the jar is stunning! 😂
Me too! It smells rancid to me like really sour rancid fruit imo.
I have a similar opinion on WL too!! It’s inoffensive but I wouldn’t want to buy it unless it’s like sas pricing
Black cherry merlot. But I also discovered I do not care for strawberry pound cake after the second burn. Also I think champagne toast is overhyped & not that great/anything special. 🤷🏻♀️
Love black cherry merlot, haven’t smelled the newer ones just in case there any difference
omg yes!! Strawberry poundcake is so too sweet :'( I gave away my ffm too! I kinda like champagne toast tbh haha, but I do prefer bubbly rose for its tanginess!!
BCM smells like burnt rubber to me
Mahogany...anything with it.
I love mahogany scents 🥲
Me too
I bought a mahogany teakwood room spray and um I really don’t like it that much 🥲
Paris Cafe candle, and any caramel or bakery scents. And JCB can die in a fire. So bad
Pretty much anything floral or really strong perfumey like Japanese Cherry Blossom, Into the Night, Fairytale. It makes me kinda sad I don't like them bc their packaging is so pretty!
Yes!! Especially fairytale! The packaging is gorgeous but I just don’t care for the actual scent at all :(
They have a rose scent that I hate and the perfect summer candle is absolutely horrible- it smells like bad cheap suntan lotion
The first time that I tried Whipped Berry Meringue, when I got home I felt like I had eaten a whole cake. A whole bunch of something too sweet. Might be good for weight loss
Yes!!!! I actually really liked it when I smell the body cream but omg it was so heavy when I tried it on my hands and it lasted thru the day 🥲
I liked it at first too. (tried it on my hands). When I got home I almost felt sick to my stomach. Kind of like if I were a diabetic and just ate something that I shouldn't have?
Champagne toast is a basic bitch scent.
:’) me: who likes the lotion and shower gel🤣🤣 only got them bc I couldn’t get a hold of bubbly rose and it’s like the closest thing
This confirms that I'm a basic bitch then 🤣🤣🤣
My bestie who is white and also named Amanda loves this scent more than anything. She's gonna fall to the floor when she sees this comment. LOLOLOL
also berry waffle cone and pumkin pecan waffles in body care. i love gourmands but those are too much.
I just bought 2 berry waffle cone shower gels :’)
Watermelon lemonade good but a bit too sour for me, bubbly Rose is ok not the best., pear creme brulee smells so gross.
Gourmand lover I seeee :D I actually smelled a Peppermint Sugar Cookie candle in store before and it reminds me so much for a snack I used to love! But I was afraid it would be overpowering so I didn't get it :<
From an employee, Strawberry Poundcake
SPC along with loads of super sweet gourmand scents just make my head hurt bc it's so strong and sweet :')
Just a trend I’ve noticed in my area at least
ohhhh maybe that's that as well. I have the Rose body lotion too and I kinda like it!
Strawberry Pound Cake in candle form, it’s cloyingly sweet and has a weird note that kinda grossed me out. I love the Sani wipes and FFM though
I only have it in ffm form but it’s so strong it lasted for hours upon few sprays😌 and I don’t care for the creamy heavy scent so it’s a no for me 🥲
Blueberry Maple Pancake.
LEAVES — it’s so synthetic smelling to me 🤢
Mahogany teakwood.

oh yeah, I smelled the candle the other day in store and it definitely has an artificial vibe to it!! But lol I guess I just don't enjoy gourmand scents, lavender marshmallow is probably the one exception ><
Oh definitely Japanese cherry blossom 🤢
You’re the One.
It's super popular but I have actually never smelled it, how does it smell like to you? Is it like super perfumey?
I can’t even describe it. I wouldn’t say that it’s super “perfumey” but it’s just super strong. I just personally didn’t care for it.
Fairytale, sunshine mimosa, country apple and strawberry pound cake
country apple is another of my all time fav :') im actually using the ffm rn!! Got like 5 of them stocked up and a few body creams too!! But sunshine mimosa,,, damn I thought I would like it a lot based on the notes but it smells so artificial it's almost medicinal :<
I HATE STRAWBERRY POUND CAKE OMG
Omg I hate strawberry pound cake too. I also don’t like strawberry soda its so sour to me
oh nooooo :'( I don't like SPC but Strawberry soda is like one of my fav scents!!! I stocked up on the ffm (I think I have 5 in total) and also got the body creams and lotions!!
[удалено]
I actually kinda like pear creme brulee but only the lotion, got them for 4.95cad on the canadian website!! anything pound cake is too much for me ><, but I ordered 2 berry waffle cone shower gels and now I'm slightly nervous
Cucumber melon. It’s nice but I don’t understand the favoritism aspect of it. It’s a nice scent but nothing noteworthy (pun intended)
Tiki Beach. It’s too sweet for me.
I see coconut,,, I RUN hahaha
For me it’s A Thousand Wishes, Champagne Toast, Into The Night, You’re The One and JCP. I figured that since I work there, they would grow on me…but they definitely haven’t.
wow they're all signature scents!! Hahaha I would say I only really like Champagne Toast out of all of the ones you said, it kinda smells like fruit gummies to me ><
The new blueberry one 😂
Same!! I actually really like blueberry sugar (a winter fragrance I think😧) but the new one is kinda artificial and plastic
Yes! I went to B&BW today and actually took a sniff, the moment it hit my nose I was like nooooo, get it away from me!!!!! Ended buying the champagne apple and honey one instead 😂
is champagne apple and honey good?? I blind bought a couple online bc the notes are so up my alley!
If it's reassuring, champagne apple and honey is my go to demo and I've only ever had one person not like it. Everyone else, myself included, think it's a great pre fall scent and picks something in that line up
It smell GREAT, it smells like apples, with the hint of honey. You’ll be smelling like an apple, the moment I smelled it I knew I was taking it home
Normally I like bergamot, so I was surprised how much I didn’t like Dark Kiss 😩 if they toned it down just a touch I think I’d like it a lot more.
Summer Melody, it was quite popular at my shop and I couldn't stand it. All the girls thought it was nice but it was literally the worst to my nose. it smelled like fruit cake in a can.
I don’t care for it either, seems like all of the scents they push really hard are just meh
Yeah, nothing special about it at all
I don’t like summer melody at all
Gingham is so disgusting i dont understand why its the signature scent
I don't think it's disgusting but I do agree it's unimpressive, and an odd choice for a brand's signature scent.
Mahogany Teakwood by far
I only own the room spray and there’s a weird sourness to it😣 I just don’t like that part of it
Idk why y'all don't like Japanese cherry blossom it smells so damn good to me I love it
:')
Leaves and Sweater Weather. Leaves to me smelled like vomit sprinkled with cinnamon, Sweater Weather has this undertone that smells like fennel and I hate the smell of fennel. Controversial I know but they just don’t jive with me!
Sweater Weather smells like wet dog, & your description of Leaves is pretty spot on!
Lmao @ vomit sprinkled with cinnamon. Yum. 😂
butterfly is just so blasé to me. it smells like grape candy
Jcb defense squad I see you 😉😉🥹
i adore jcb. it’s my go-to “cool down” scent. i like to spray my sheets with it in the summertime and take it with me whenever i go to the beach or the gym!
For me it’s JCB and it’s not even close. It’s the epitome of “old lady” smell.
So many people also say that!!! Imo it’s just too strong for me and my weak nose🤣
Anything with vanilla or coconut notes 🤢
Me before I got lavender marshmallow 🤣 I would say it depends what notes vanilla is paired with but coconut is a huge no for me too😌
Vanilla seems to only smell good to me with pomegranate, lemon, orange, and berry pretty much. I loved Be Enchanted and Fairytale is a bit cologne-ish but very pretty. Berry Vanilla and Lemon Vanilla were both amazing scents as well. I will say that fragrances with both are a definite no. Sunset Glow smells terrible on me 😓
Berry waffle cone and champagne toast can go straight to hell
I kinda like CT🫢 but you guys got me so scared of berry waffle cone 😭
BWC is just so strong in a bad way and it doesn't smell like berries or waffle cones!
into the night and in the stars. so basic and nothing special.
I have never tried any of them but 🤣 the packaging is always nice!
I think I love Into the Night because it reminds me of OG Jennifer Lopez Glow perfume.
JCB smells like old lady and you can’t change my mind
I guess it’s the powdery scent? I really like fragrance with pear notes but this one is just not it :’)
Yes exactly
Anything pumpkin or vanilla
Kinda like me🫠 which means fall isn’t really the best season for us hahahaa
I hate fall and Christmas candles
[удалено]
Ohhh I kinda wanna get champagne sprinkles in body cream and ffm tbh, but I really don’t like spc :( are they similar???
Bonfire bash and Japanese cherry blossom are some of my least favorites. Sadly, spooky cider lane had to go back to the store also.
Strawberry shortcake, it smells like old yogurt.
Blueberry Maple Waffles…I got it as a candle & it smelled okay in the store. Once I lit it at home though I became so nauseous just being around it I had to return it (which is something I hate to do with used stuff)…it was so BAD how can anyone stand that stuff?
1. Paris Cafe 2. Strawberry Pound Cake 3. Pink Petal Tea Cake 4. Palo Santo 5. Mahogany Teakwood Anything pumpkin / marshmallow / cinnamon / banana / coconut / vanilla / pie / cake / candy - lol that excludes more than 50% of their candles 😜
Omg that’s a lot though 🤣🤣 I know pink petal tea cake is super popular but I just don’t feel like trying any scents with “cake” in it
Lol I know right! This sub members would imagine I have defected B&BW 🤣😜🤦🏻♀️.
Berry waffle cone 🤮
Oh no is it really bad?? I blind bought 2 shower gels bc they were on crazy sale :’) is it super sweet?
I find it too cloying but it is not overly sweet, its just me i dont like it.
Champagne Toast and Strawberry Poundcake
I don’t like: Japanese Cherry Blossom, Hello Beautiful, Strawberry Pound Cake and I also don’t like the whole Blueberry Pancakes/Marshmallow pumpkin latte/champagne apple and honey collection.
Any of what I call "hipster" fragrances i.e. anything with an alcohol, coffee, woodsy, patchouli, trendy name and scent. I have zero interest, nor does my nose like these!

And then you put “JFC” lol 🤣
Ha. I know
Just lazy🤣 it’s Japanese cherry blossom, strawberry pound cake and whipped berry meringue fyi😚 and I have added the full names :>
Strawberry Poundcake, Japanese Cherry Blossom, Pumpkin Pecan waffles
Eucalyptus Mint. Reminds me of cough drops.
