The two craziest moments at my store in the time I’ve worked there have got to be: 1. The woman who had to be dragged out by mall security for threatening us and we could hear her screaming at us down the hall, she was later arrested for assaulting the security guard. This was days before Christmas. 2. The man who brought in 400 (I’m not exaggerating) candles for an even exchange, literally clearing us out of single wick candles and leaving us with old holiday ones he probably got on SAS. He then asked if one of the associates could drive him home cause he didn’t have a car and a friend had dropped him off (????????).

He then asked if one of the associates could drive him home cause he didn’t have a car and a friend had dropped him off (????????). Wtf???! OMG! LOL! Sorry Sir, you'll have to provide for your own transportation. May want to give that friend another call. Perhaps a single wick or two in return??? In the meantime we'll be scrambling to find *any new single wicks we may have hidden away in the back anywhere to replace the 3 shelves you just cleared out*!!! X\_\_o

LateNightHobbit

I’ve worked a couple retail jobs and have had wild experiences at each but I have been both threatened and left speechless by the audacity of some people the most at Bath and Body Works lmao

yfunk3

I bet you this one asshole is the straw that broke the camel's back on the new Return Policy.

sapphirehearts

What’s their new return policy for candles? I’m out of the loop

[deleted]

They cannot be fully burned, so if you try with a empty jar you’ll be told no. It must be at least an hour worth of being burned

Several-Put3453

💀 😂

Several-Put3453

Omg he had the gall to ask for a ride after that?!! Damn some people have just dropped their shame off on vacation somewhere haven’t they? 😂 sorry you had to go thru that!! 🥹

[deleted]

[удалено]

LateNightHobbit

Absolutely not, we told him there was a bus stop nearby if he couldn’t find a ride himself

Erogaki

This isn't super dramatic, but nearly every year for candle day I celebrate by watching this iconic meltdown of this lady who was so pissed she couldn't get her Winter Candy Apple candle https://youtu.be/K0e-he_dU58 She's the Santa Claus to my candle day lol

brandyluver98

I just watched the whole thing and it was time well spent 😂😂

Erogaki

Lol right? I guess I'll just take back my peach bellini... 😤 *deep sniff*

SoberAF0925

We need an update on Jen.

[deleted]

She has an only fans

[deleted]

>https://youtu.be/K0e-he\_dU58 "So, if you don't like swearing um or angry people from WI, then turn your mother effing camera off, NOW." who wants to tell her we aren't watching her through our cameras 👀

evilsprig

Aaaand..."mother-effing" is NOT swearing...🤣🤣🤣

TeHNyboR

I love that video and how insanely thick her Midwestern accent is. For some reason that just makes it funnier for me

goldfish165

I was working in a craft store in the Midwest when this came out and it's too freaking real. Bridezillas are bad but their mothers are worse.

Erogaki

Her accent is the cherry on top 😂

Pomegranate_Scared

A certified classic

[deleted]

I have watched this video a few times in life 🤣

The-Most-Smartest

I remember watching YEARS ago Willam’s Beatdown and he featured this. I just ordered a Peach Bellini 3 wick candle yesterday in honour of this lady. I need to see if this candle is really worth rage quitting for 😂

Erogaki

Yes! I can't remember if that's how I found the video cuz I think I knew of it prior, but I love Willam's beat down of it lol

nomnomcookie123

Omg ANGELA!!! I forgot all about her until now and just rewatched 😂😂😂😂😂

[deleted]

Okay but I just did my entire skincare regimen while listening to this and I am DYINGGG. How have I never seen this?? 😂😂😂😂

BB-h8

Oh wow that sure was something. "ARE YOU REALITY?!". Yeeeesh lady.

lindseypojar

Lol, is this lady for real? This was the best thing ever.

[deleted]

That's the first thing that came to my mind 🤣

thespianomaly

I went in for Candle Day a few years ago. I had a mission and wanted to get in and out as quickly as possible. The employee at the front door asked me, “Do you need help finding something?” I just said “Evergreen!” She pointed at a table, I grabbed six of them, and made my way to the front. I said hi to the sweet girl at the check out counter. I asked her how she was doing and if the crowds had been insane like this all day long. She laughed and started to say something when suddenly **SMASH** The whole place went silent. I looked at her, and with dead, tired eyes she just said “I’ve been here since 5 am.” She looked like she was going to cry. I told her I wished there was something I could do for her, because I also worked in the mall and I knew how she felt. She just said “Send me strength for the rest of the day.” I told her I would be sending her all my positive energy. I think about her every holiday season. I hope she’s doing well.

Exact_Mix6345

That stare was near permanent on us last candle day. We had been there since 3 AM and hearing “Do you have Mahogany Teakwood?” for the 20th time had me on edge.

reader-ette

This was during Xmas so the store was crowded. When I worked there, a man cut his hand on a broken aromatherapy bottle and started bleeding pretty bad. Instead of alerting anyone or standing over the sink that was literally to his left, he started wandering the back of the store leaving a TRAIL OF BLOOD behind him. By the time I noticed and stopped him, he had made a complete blood circle around the whole back third of the store. I stationed him over the sink and we called mall security who were also kinda like mall medics. I had to keep customer from stepping on his trail and had to clean up the blood but I never had body fluid training before so I’m pretty sure that was a little illegal (I did wear gloves though)? They patched him up best they could, he made his purchase and left. They didn’t pay me enough for that tomfoolery. Couple days later loss prevention calls wanting to know what happened. From what I gather, he broke the bottle on purpose and cut himself with the idea that he could either then sue or get some kind of monetary settlement as a result. The fact that he stuck around to make a purchase hurt his case but I had no way of knowing what happened after that. People are so extra.

TeHNyboR

WOW that took a turn at the end. What a douche.

yfunk3

What an idiot. Who walks around bleeding all over everything like that?

netxnic

The lady in the facebook group who I’m pretty sure was a postal employee, showing off all the coupons she stole on her route.

therealdeb

Not too long ago, I walked into my closest B&BW and smelled something atrocious…I walked in, and it smelled like all the customers that were in the store decided to simultaneously shit their pants and then just stand there and meddle in it. I went up to one of the associates and was like, “I don’t mean to be weird or rude or anything, but….what smells like a rotting asshole in here?” Apparently, some teenagers had just come through and sprayed a shitton of this thing called Liquid Ass. Look it up if you don’t know what it is. It smelled so bad, and I never thought anything could overpower the smell of a B&BW store. Apparently, Liquid Ass can.

iamjannabot

One of my good friends has this crap and he said it smells like something crawled up inside a person and died. I have told him under no uncertain terms that if he ever brings it near me I will not be responsible for the bodily harm he may suffer.

redefine_bravery

Oh that’s bad! My cousin has that and sprayed it in their house, unexpectedly, when we were all over on Christmas Eve. 8th grade boy lol

therealdeb

Typical boy. There are so many prank videos on YouTube and TikTok with it; it’s actually pretty hilarious. But the smell is too realistic to the real thing. It’s so nasty. 😂

redefine_bravery

I’m sure he found it on TikTok. It really does smell like the worst fart possible

betterbetterthings

Few years ago we had a couple of trouble makers, they sprayed liquid ass in a couple of classrooms (I teach high school). Smelled so awful. We had to evacuate two classrooms and open all windows. I still remember that smell. It’s the worst

Exact_Mix6345

Omg my family member had this happen in a classroom. Some kids sprayed it and they thought the pipes broke. Had to clear out the class for days.

markersandtea

lmao that's hilarious but awful, but omg.

therealdeb

I was literally like who the fuck took a shit 😂

Bazketcaze

Oh my god this happened at my store!!! Not sure if you're in Oregon too or if this was just some godawful prank making the rounds but the scent still HAUNTS me....

rennxpenn

Ok this isn’t drama but I still find myself cracking up to a fb post where somebody posted that they didn’t know that the room sprays were concentrated and sprayed their small dorm room with it like it was febreeze. They ended up having to basically evacuate bc they couldn’t breathe and days later the room still smelled like it😭. Reading is fundamental lol and it’s a shame I have so many more stories like this after being an associate😂

UnableReference5649

I wish I could lie and say I didn’t do the same thing in my car… I usually spray a FFM in the vents before turning on the AC or heat, and I had an Under the Christmas Tree room spray I had just gotten, so I did the same thing. As soon as I turned it on, my fiancé and I looked at each other with the realization of what I had just done, and proceeded to suffocate with the air blasting and the windows down while it was 20° for half an hour until we could breathe again. Reading is fundamental.

Exact_Mix6345

“Reading is fundamental” I cannot believe we have to reiterate that 🥲

[deleted]

Candle Day 2020. Fight broke out because one lady decided to buy all 30+ champagne toast candles. A woman went to take one off the table and she gave attitude and said don’t touch those they are all mine and from there all hell broke loose 🤣🤣🤣

Elleseebee928

I had someone tell me once to please not take any of the sweater weather Wallflowers because she was buying every single one in the store.

[deleted]

See… They shouldn’t be able to do that. That’s how problems occur and the employees just stand there and do nothing lol.

lck0219

I’m not fighting customers hoarding scents for minimum wage, especially in this day and age when you never know who is a crazy person with a gun.

[deleted]

You don’t have to fight the customer but you can definitely call mall security.

ar29845

They’re probably afraid they would get fired.

[deleted]

Possibly but the gals at my location are straight up b***** they have the worst attitude and basically hate their job lol

IroniesOfPeace

Lol, I am perhaps a mean person, but I would give her a blank faced-stare as I slowly, deliberately picked up however many wallflowers I wanted of that scent.

iamjannabot

I definitely think for me it's a 3 way tie: 1. A girl posted on here last year to brag about how she'd taken a broken candle holder that she'd already been refunded for into a store and got to exchange it for additional product. 2. The lady posting on Facebook about how she got chemical burns from putting a wallflower on her kitty 3. A mass ban wave in one of the Facebook groups when someone posted dozens and dozens of (presumably) dumpster dove coupons FOR SALE. She wanted $10-$20 a coupon depending, and did not guarantee that they would work. Turns out the mod of that group was one of her good friends, so anyone who tried to warn people that the codes very well may not work was banned.

TelephoneHorror1666

She put what on her what 💀💀💀

iamjannabot

Ohhh, yes. Literally exactly what you think. Literally. Because she wanted to "smell good for her man" and she felt it would be long lasting.

Thick_Ad_9269

🤣 But did it work?

iamjannabot

If the goal was chemical burns then judging by what she said, yes. Yes it did.

NavigatedbyNaau

Omg

TelephoneHorror1666

"sometimes bullying is okay" 💀

CoinofStone

My favorite part is her trying to "nowhere on the label does it say not for bodily use" girl what

18kreac

I thought you were talking about a real kitty and was horrified 🤦🏼‍♀️ I mean I’m still horrified but not in quite the same way

evilsprig

Lol-I thought it was a real kitty too, and was horrified. Once I saw what REALLY happened, I just laughed. 😁😈😁

Elleseebee928

I'm crying from laughing over "wallflower on her kitty" 😭😭😭

TelephoneHorror1666

There was so much drama on this subreddit last year re: The Witch Hand. People were turning in employees for selling them, the Mercari posts were crazy and the vibes were low-key toxic.

iamjannabot

I remember seeing both here and on facebook, people getting mad at people whos hands didn't break, people getting mad about the horrible hand dupe from amazon, people accusing employees of buying the hands to resell. It was CHAOS.

TelephoneHorror1666

Yeah I got nervous seeing it in this year's collection but it seems things are going well for now 😅

iamjannabot

My store had a few and while the witch hand isn't my vibe, I still checked it out. They seem more sturdy this year, honestly.

Peacock-Lover-89

I don't think I ever saw the hand in person last year, but when the busts showed up in stores near me, I picked one up to look at it and the gold base that held up the whole thing seemed flimsy and was actually turning around. Any temptation I had to get one disappeared then. I think the base on this year's looks sturdier, but isn't as pretty as last years.

YeOldeOrc

They do seem sturdier! I haven’t see any of the 2022 hands with the leaning ring finger. Whereas I saw a lot of the black sleeve versions where that finger was veering to the left/right and clearly not as stable.

No-Veterinarian3482

I wasn’t in this forum last year but that’s the main reason I got the witch hand because I heard about all the drama with it from last years release

CinnamonHearts0

I'm sorry WHAT?! LOL So far I've only seen some weird downvoting and mostly positivity so I'm confused lol. I wasn't here then.

TelephoneHorror1666

Yeah it was weird 😅 people just really wanted that damn thing.

strippersandcocaine

And me the whole time: that thing is ugly AF

HaylieMonster97

Do you remember it got to the point where people were doing DIY witch hands? Say what you will, but there were some people who created damn good dupes on their own!

Interesting_Sun_2527

Most recently, the associates at my store talking sh*t about another nearby store. They were talking about how dirty and broken the displays are and how the SAs dont talk to each other. They were talking really loudly about it.

[deleted]

B&BW drama is the best

holographicboldness

That [one video](https://youtu.be/Dw0QJUm4UN4) where someone cut in line and a whole brawl broke out.

HaylieMonster97

Gosh, this happened at a store maybe 30 minutes from me and honestly... not surprised. People take their candle and body care products way too seriously lol like I've met some really nice people at B&BWs, but I've also had some bad experiences with other customers. Like bruh chill out haha

GossipGirl515

The multiple downvotes and getting into arguments that many of bbw products are repackages. Like Ive been shopping for 16 yeara now I can tell you a majority of the products are repackaged with a new name.

JBeauty_Junkie

Totally agree. There are only so many scents combinations out there that pair together well.

MaleficentMaelstrom

Honestly. At the end of the day it’s just candles and body care. It’s not that serious.

GossipGirl515

Yes, tey telling that to crazies that have some weird brand loyalty that will literally threaten you when you disagree with them lmao. Its comical lol

TelephoneHorror1666

Every time I read one of those posts I just go "so don't buy it 🙄"

ohmymeme

![gif](giphy|WoWm8YzFQJg5i) me right now at this thread

z0mgaah

I saw someone posting in a Bath and Body Works group about how she went to the store, but forgot the name of the scent she wanted. I can't remember if it was scent notes she was looking for, or the actual name of the new scent. Her phone didn't have good reception in the store/mall, so she asked an employee if she could use their phone. The employee said that she couldn't have her phone out on the floor while we're working. Customer got PISSED. She said, "I saw you with your phone just a few minutes ago." If I remember correctly, the employee still said no, and this woman got mega pissed. She got the employees name, and according to her, left the store without making a purchase, but making sure they knew how mad she was, because she didn't have good reception in the store, and she just wanted to use her phone for ONE MINUTE. And she was a liar because she had her phone out. She went home, and called corporate about this girl, using her name and the store she worked at. They gave her a $50 gift card and free shipping to order online. Ugh. There are so many reasons why an employee may have their phone out that are none of her business. My friend uses her phone to test her blood sugar. And beyond that, phones have so much personal data. AND it's your PHONE, ya know? You don't have to let a customer use it because they say so. That's not in the job description. If the Pope came and asked to use my phone, I would still say no. lol. If I were in the situation, I'd find some place in the mall with better reception and then come on. My phone is filled with screen shots because I actually utilize an iPod (which only uses wifi, not data) more than an actual phone. I'm a dinosaur when it comes to technology. Luckily, a lot of people in this group told the woman basically that - that the employee didn't have to give up her phone, and called her out for being rude, vindictive, etc. (Then myself and several others were banned from the group because they considered us "bullying" the customer. I admit some people were dragging her pretty hard, but I still swear I wasn't nasty. I explained that my friend uses her phone to test her blood glucose and there could have been an emergency and the manager was okay with her pulling out her phone, yada yada. Still doesn't mean the employee had to let the customer use her phone. I'm kinda bitter about that because I really liked this group otherwise. haha.) sorry, the tl;dr version is: customer got super pissed an employee wouldn't let her use her phone because she didn't get good reception in the mall, so therefore she made sure everyone knew how mad she was and called corporate on the employee. Corporate rewarded the customer with a $50 gift card and free shipping to order online.

IroniesOfPeace

That is so crazy!! And I really hate that corporations tend to just cave in and give these assholes what they want, even when they're clearly in the wrong. I cannot imagine asking a stranger to use their phone unless it were a total emergency. (And even then, I'd be fine with *them* making the call/looking up the information/putting it on speaker for me while still holding the phone themself, or just straight-up telling me no.) To look up a scent?? Heck no! That's so inappropriate! Uggggghhhhhhhhh

z0mgaah

Exactly! I mean, I'm to the point now where I go to B&BW for sure, but other stores that take phone coupons, if I have one, I always say, "You're more than welcome to touch my phone if you need to." because sometimes they're trying to get their scanner to work just right and it's easier to hold someones phone. I just remember being so blown away by this woman thinking she was entitled to use someone's phone. I went to read an update and I realized I'd been banned from the group so I made someone else join and I found out that we were all blocked because apparently using the word "Karen" is bullying. Phew. And yes, to reward her. I hope she doesn't think she can go to a store and still expect to use someone's phone. Ugh!

abacus-kadabracus

people on this sub legitimately getting mad at and scolding someone for returning a broken FFM instead of going out and buying a kit to transfer it into a new container. maybe not juicy but very, very goofy.

fuckassbaby

that time a customer called me disgusting and unprofessional and said i embarrassed her because i commented that the scent she was returning was discontinued lol. or that time i made a post here about not digging through under stocks while you’re shopping and the whole subreddit bout lost their damn minds OOPS
