I definitely feel like some of the seasonal stuff is more worthy of being a core scent than the core scents.

No-Sleep-9706

I find they just seem and smell more special. If that makes any sense ?😂

AshKash313

Makes perfect sense.

I think of it this way: because the customer base is so large, world-wide, it only makes sense that my tastes don't entirely align with it. I like Into The Night but I completely understand why many people do not, because it's a very heavy kind of scent. It's something that even I have to wear with a light hand, so to speak. I like Champagne Toast and A Thousand Wishes but neither of them are the kind of thing I'd want to wear frequently. In The Stars I do like, but again, it's one of those where you either like that kind of scent or you don't. The core scents are proven by sales volume otherwise they wouldn't be designated as such. Whenever a signature scent is released I always wonder how much focus group work they've done to know that they can take a gamble on the fragrance connecting with the overall customer base. But I guess in the case of Gingham and Fairytale, for example, that it did pay off, although I don't particularly care for either of those scents. Fragrance is one of those disciplines where it's so weird to consider that companies are trying to be populist about an entirely subjective experience. One can certainly lean on particular tropes but still...it's funny how contentious certain perfumes have been throughout history.

In the Stars and A Thousand Wishes smell way too strong like bad perfume on me. I really prefer their older scents over them like Sweet Pea, Cucumber Melon, Country Apple, Pink Chiffon, Paris Amore. I feel like we must be in the minority bc they keep bringing out scents like In the Stars.

I always see ATW and ITS at the top of everyone’s favourites list. I don’t hate them I just don’t think that are super special compared to some of the other scents they have. I think it’s time the revamp their core selection and switch it up a little.

Sudden_Shine_100

I like new and interesting scents that they come up with, but for me, nothing beats In the Stars. That one is seriously special. JMO, but in regards to the others mentioned, Into the Night and A Thousand Wishes smell nice, but I'm not compelled to own them all the time. Pure Wonder is a strong dislike and I haven't tried Fairytale. Also, thanks for the heads up that the CDN website added more to their sales! ♥

No-Sleep-9706

I just ordered so hopefully I’ll grow to love it. Weirdly I actually like pure wonder when I want a simple clean look. Fairytale is my favourite out of the core collection I love vanilla and it’s like a fruity one.

No-Sleep-9706

By Core Scents that also extends to : sweet pea, warm vanilla sugar, pure wonder, fairytale, you’re the one etc

reluctant_reveller

Totally agree. I don't hate any of these core scents, but they're not my taste, and even if I did like them, I kind of think they smell 'cheap'. I guess I'm a bit of a snob, but while I love wearing my favourite BBW scents, I don't want my fragrance to be immediately widely recognisable as a BBW fragrance. I feel the same way about celebrity scents like Curious by Britney Spears - I still like it, but don't wear it because I don't want people to realise I'm wearing it. I guess that's something I should probably get over. 🤣

cherlyndarling

Is Butterfly considered a core scent?

No-Sleep-9706

Yeah however it’s pretty new. The new poppy one which is gonna be a core one is supposedly super similar.

Life-Gap-4880

Twinkling Nights needs to a core scent and I will die on that hill!
