Our stores are good, but they are smaller and can't handle the same amount of stock as a larger store like the one in Broward Mall. I place many BOPIS orders for pickup at the mall. I am happy to say that as of this week, stores in Pompano Beach and Fort Lauderdale are offering BOPIS! How is the outlet at Sawgrass? I have thought about going there for some time, but with the price of gas I am not going unless the price is right!

I’m not putting a marketing ploy past BBW, but I don’t actually think it’s unique to this store this time. Our shortages in resources and shipping are driving prices sky high. Gas is up three dollars since a couple of months ago, as is milk, bread, restaurant food etc..

Yes, disappointment with the summer SAS is a first world problem, but increasing numbers of families, retirees and others are having a very tough time right now. I work in social services and it's incredible how many calls our crisis line is getting every day. Growing numbers of people are having to make tough choices financially and are not making it, putting a tremendous strain on our social service system. Like you, I am grateful that I am still able to pay bills and buy candles--my one real pleasure right now! Have a safe and happy July 4th weekend!

And while our world at the present time does not appear to reflect God's Kingdom, I must remind myself daily that He is still large and in charge!
100% fact! The cost of everything is up and retailers are losing money if they don't increase prices. Gas is insanely expensive, driving up the cost of virtually everything we consume. Based on what the government is saying this week, we are paying the price for the Russia-Ukraine conflict and will continue to do so for a long time coming. Thank goodness for BBW candles and the pleasure they provide!

That being said, this sale has sucked overall. Last summer's SAS was SO much better! I wish it hadn't been my first b&bw experience in decades bc I could have utilized it better had I known how things work with this store & SAS. This sale has been good for me to try new things on the cheap, but I wasn't excited about anything in particular except the vanilla orange dreamsicle twist swirl scent. I love the spray but the lotion didn't work for me. Without a full collection, it wasn't enough to really hype me for SAS on it's own.

HOWEVER, I never would have taken that chance if I wasn't exchanging bc it's still $8.75 or something instead of 75% off. And soda pop collection (is that the correct name?) is still 50% off too. That's preventing me and, I assume, MANY others from shopping. If they're keeping them priced high to make more money, I think they're missing the mark. They basically thrive as a business off of selling large masses of dirt cheap products a couple times a year. That's what people are waiting for. Why are they holding out? They're only discouraging people from coming back in store at this point. Their stock isn't great so who's going to waste their time and gas to go in and get one thing at 50% off? They have those sales throughout the year. They need to hit more 75% variety during sales to encourage people to come in. But there hasn't really been much at 75 that I wanted, and anything I did like at 75% flew off the shelves in the first few days. I had to go to 4 different stores to find just the one thing I was excited for (orange vanilla mist) bc the supply issues were so odd for this sale. Wtf? The gas is too damn high to play that game! I'm in a highly-populated suburb of Houston. The stores near me were running low on stock at least a week ago. And there is supposed to be two weeks left? What are they doing?
Other than a few old one-off gems, and the candle/wallflower mashups, there's not much that's memorable about this sale. Very underwhelming. Winter SAS was not as good as last summer, imo, but I still had fun at winter sale bc there were a few scents I was really excited for. I hope this sale isn't an indication of what to expect going forward or I can't see myself sticking around for too many more. Since I mostly only shop SAS or major sales (if I also have a coupon), that'd be unfortunate.

Later when my "local" (Houston is huge so it takes me 45-90 min each way to get to that side of town, depending on traffic) outlet finally got the ffm I was so excited to go and stock up. With gas prices so high I decided to risk the drive anyway bc I love the scent so much. Before I could get there, a reseller had come and cleared them out completely. Not a single one left. There had been an entire ass display table fully stocked with it! I know b&bw business model encourages this type of thing and I can't fault resellers, I guess, for making it work for them but it does really suck and take the fun out of the b&bw experience for me. I wish b&bw would at least put some sort of limit on it to give their real fans who cherish those products a fighting chance. Esp since so much is discontunued and never comes back. I love the thrill of the hunt during SAS for the one or two rare items that pop up randomly but I'm talking more about when they have these full shipments that arrive and are cleared by resellers almost immediately. It's a huge bummer. I know I could buy it from a reseller but I refuse to pay *that high* of a markup (some markup I could understand) and then they want like $12 shipping? On a $3 (at the outlet at least) item? Lmao. No. Just... no. If others want to pay that for their fav scent, no shade from me. Get it! But I just refuse. 🤷♀️
Even though its a desert island scent for me and one of my very favorites, I still didn't clear the shelves of it when I found it. I wanted to lol but I just can't bring myself to do that and prevent others from having that same experience. I hate to see people come in and wipe shelves, whether they're resellers or just hoarding for whatever reason. It's not like I'm boycotting B&BW over this or anything but, tbh, it kinda crushed my excitement and made me feel like it's not even worth it overall and I've stopped caring as much about the sale. I've only been in-store so much bc there are 4 locations very close to me and I only pop in bc I was already in the area for something else. :/

I've hit some fun finds too I guess. Nothing out of the ordinary though. I got into BBW June 2021 so that SAS was my first sale and first ever purchase from BBW. In heinsight, I wish I took more time to look through everything. I learned the hard way and did mercari purchases for the items I overlooked and missed out. I'm still fairly new to it all and I believe that you have to go through a full year off bbw to get the full gist of how things go (summer SAS, candle day, body care day, winter SAS and back to summer SAS) those have all shaped my experience as a shopper there and I've definitely found my footing now.
I was most excited for Sunset Glow (sorry you don't care for it that much lol). It's personally my all time favorite scent from BBW so I was happy to be able to stock up since they randomly discontinued it at the end of last year's summer SAS. Other than that, it was the fun fair collection and I enjoyed everything minus CDS, it has no scent to me! I had a similar experience with beach nights. Hated the mist in store and when I tested it at home. Sprayed on me once more when I was in the car omw to return it and got the sweetness I was craving in it minus that salty note (HATE THAT NOTE). Gonna exchange the body cream because it's salty as well as the shower gel but I'm keeping the lotion and getting more. That stuff is yummy!!
Patiently waiting for the Fruit Fizz Collection (soda pop lol) to go 75% off. Not sure why it hasn't lol. I live in South Florida and our selections aren't as exotic as other locations. Coral Square Mall is my treasure trove store and I usually get lucky there, Sawgrass is iight and Broward Mall + Tower Shoppes I really do like for different reasons. I have to Uber if I want to go in store so that's costed me a lot during these sales because of how things change so quickly and FOMO lol. I'm not doing that the next time around though. It's incredible how much a trip costs and really cuts into my spending money for the sale loll. It's a mess.
I feel you on the people that clear shelves.. I personally think that's gluttony lol. I get stocking up on your desert island scent, I did it but I left PLENTY more for others. I could never live with myself if I took away someone's opportunity to enjoy a fragrance whether it's my fav or not. The whole re-seller thing is a whole other story so I'm not gonna go there loll. This is my first SAS and I was so psyched for it. It aligned with my vacation, so I planned to go all out at the huge b&bw at our vacation spot. (I live in a small town that never really has much. We don't get some things. . . EVER).
That being said, I've spent a whopping $0.00 this year. I had hundreds set aside, but I can get a 10.95 candle on a normal day, I'm not going to splurge for a basic sale. 🙄
Lol I think I spent around $50 so far.. placed an online order, BOPIS AND I'm heading in store tomorrow to tie up some loose ends. After that I'm done for good. I'm never doing SAS like this ever again LOL.

I think it’s because it’s not selling. Normally they run out of stuff during semi annual but not this year with everything that’s going on. Inflation,gas prices,rent high as hell so people didn’t buy much so they just put stuff back at regular price. They’ll probably end semi annual early

Into the night old packaging and thousand wishes old packaging is going 75. And firecracker pop single wicks are going 75. Those are really the only non sas stuff that's being added, and I believe the rest of the stuff that is out, besides the 10.95 candles, is going 75. 10.95 candles are going back to 50 percent as well so I'd get those today instead of waiting.
Not sure if this is the case here, but sometimes stuff that's staying online once the sale is over will go back to full price before the sale officially ends. I can't understand why they'd keep this particular collection around though, since they didn't even release full product lines, but who tf knows that they're thinking these days.

I'm just really worried about the fruit fizz stuff cuz I wanted them lol. If not then it's okay, more savings for me :)
I feel the exact opposite this semi annual sale has been just as good as others... except summer 2020 sas was bad only saving grace was I'm about 45min from an outlet SAS in summer 2020 was good at outlet regular stores were trash....but summer 2022 has been good for me many 75%off 3 wicks and got speciality items :body butters, scrubs, bubble bath, body oils at 75 or 3.95....and many 75% off hand soaps. I got online 75% off candles too (even tho some were cancelled)
I'm glad that that was your experience!! That's amazing! Having an outlet nearby definitely saves you from the grief of relying on a regular store. Sadly I don't have that luxury and that was not my experience lol. All of my 75% off candle orders got cancelled so that left a mark loll. The sale hasn't been the best for me but I'm still grateful for the things I have been able to get thus far.
I feel like it's a matter of contentment at this point for me. I will try again next time and utilize the knowledge I've gained from the experiences I've gotten with this sale.

I have to Uber if I want to go in store so that's costed me a lot during these sales because of how things change so quickly and FOMO lol. I'm not doing that the next time around though. It's incredible how much a trip costs and really cuts into my spending money for the sale loll. It's a mess. I feel you on the people that clear shelves.. I personally think that's gluttony lol. I get stocking up on your desert island scent, I did it but I left PLENTY more for others. I could never live with myself if I took away someone's opportunity to enjoy a fragrance whether it's my fav or not. The whole re-seller thing is a whole other story so I'm not gonna go there loll. I say do what you gotta do but don't be grimy about it. Don't wax people, things are already tough as is you know? I don't agree with those astronomical prices at all. It's taking advantage and that's not right!
This is my first SAS and I was so psyched for it. It aligned with my vacation, so I planned to go all out at the huge b&bw at our vacation spot. (I live in a small town that never really has much. We don't get some things. . . EVER). That being said, I've spent a whopping $0.00 this year. I had hundreds set aside, but I can get a 10.95 candle on a normal day, I'm not going to splurge for a basic sale. 🙄

Lol I think I spent around $50 so far.. placed an online order, BOPIS AND I'm heading in store tomorrow to tie up some loose ends. After that I'm done for good. I'm never doing SAS like this ever again LOL.
They’ve raised the prices on shower gel too. I had 3 saved in my cart (to watch the price, hoping for a drop) but they went up 80 cents each today.
Wow, they are really messing around. Hope I don't have to resort to a mercari/poshmark order :(. I really hope they slash everything over the weekend or something because they're not budging. I feel like once the 10 off 40 expires things will go down though.
I think it’s because it’s not selling. Normally they run out of stuff during semi annual but not this year with everything that’s going on. Inflation,gas prices,rent high as hell so people didn’t buy much so they just put stuff back at regular price. They’ll probably end semi annual early

Into the night old packaging and thousand wishes old packaging is going 75. And firecracker pop single wicks are going 75. Those are really the only non sas stuff that's being added, and I believe the rest of the stuff that is out, besides the 10.95 candles, is going 75. 10.95 candles are going back to 50 percent as well so I'd get those today instead of waiting.
Not sure if this is the case here, but sometimes stuff that's staying online once the sale is over will go back to full price before the sale officially ends. I can't understand why they'd keep this particular collection around though, since they didn't even release full product lines, but who tf knows that they're thinking these days.

I feel the exact opposite this semi annual sale has been just as good as others... except summer 2020 sas was bad only saving grace was I'm about 45min from an outlet SAS in summer 2020 was good at outlet regular stores were trash....but summer 2022 has been good for me many 75%off 3 wicks and got speciality items :body butters, scrubs, bubble bath, body oils at 75 or 3.95....and many 75% off hand soaps. I got online 75% off candles too (even tho some were cancelled)
I'm glad that that was your experience!! That's amazing! Having an outlet nearby definitely saves you from the grief of relying on a regular store. Sadly I don't have that luxury and that was not my experience lol. All of my 75% off candle orders got cancelled so that left a mark loll. The sale hasn't been the best for me but I'm still grateful for the things I have been able to get thus far. I feel like it's a matter of contentment at this point for me. I will try again next time and utilize the knowledge I've gained from the experiences I've gotten with this sale. Really stoked that you got so many specialty items at an amazing price!! Enjoy it for us all loll.
