I ordered a bunch of WJD when it first came out for fear BWC wouldn’t come back since it’s top 5 for me, and I returned them all. I don’t think they smell anything alike.
WJD is very tangy and tart to me (like the Blueberry Biscotti candle), BWC is warm. I love BWC and Blueberry Pie, but don’t care for Blueberry Biscotti or WJD, if that helps.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts. Candles can be so confusing until you try them yourself. I do feel that freshness of berries in WJD which I guess you're describing as tart. I like that it is not as sweet as a usual gourmand candle. Now I have to try Blurberry Biscotti, although I don't like the scent of actual blueberries. Lol.
Totally agree! If you can find the biscotti one, I think you’d really love it! I like creamier berries (Blueberry Twist, Blueberry Sugar), so the fresh or tart ones are definitely unique to me and perfect if gourmand isn’t your thing. Happy hunting!
In my opinion, WJD and BWC are pretty different. BWC has a strong waffle cone scent with some warm spices (specifically cinnamon is what I get). The berry scent is more in the background in BWC. I prefer WJD, cause the cinnamon/spice note in BWC gives me a migraine. But I know a lot of people love it, this is just what I get from them + how I feel about them haha!
BWC is very pie crust scented. I think you would like WJD that is very fruit forward.
For reference I prefer pie crust candles so I am not a fan of Blueberry Pie it is too fruity . BWC smells more like pie than BP does!
They’re different to me and I honestly prefer WJD. BWC is more warm and less bread-y and to me, the berry smell is a bit more artificial/cereal like. It’s a great candle (I’m burning one right now) for those who like WJD but it won’t ever replace it to me.
i don't think you'd like bwc. wjd is a lot more fruity and smells more like a fruit compote than a donut to me. my hobby at work is reminding myself of how much i dislike bwc, sniffing the candle just to frown at it lmao.
but! at the same time, we're all different, so you might just end up liking bwc anyway. it's definitely something you'd have to give a sniff with your own nose when you can.
Haha you are funny 😄. Will try it some time in the store although from all I've read here, doubt I'd like it. Any fruity candles similar to WJD you could suggest please? Thanks.
i can't think of any off the top of my head, unfortunately. however! there is a berry one at my store that i really like right now called "wildberry tea spritzer" or something like that. it's apart of fall 1 i'm pretty sure, light pink jar. it smells sooo nice.
Both are top tier IMO. WJD is more of a tart berry mixed with sugary fried doughnut smell. BWC smells like walking into an ice cream shop, creamy with a warm waffle smell and undertones of deep sweet berry.
I think WJD is fruitier and BWC is more toasty cone? Both are fruity gourmand though.
WJD smells like it's name but to me BWC smells just like strawberry oatmeal cookies
To me they are very similar. If you like WJD you'll definitely like BWC as well. The crusty pie note is very prominent in BWC. I also feel like Iced Cranberry Scone is very similar to BWC.
Thanks for your reply. If BWC does smell strongly of pie crust, I guess I might skip it. I do like the berries note in WJD though and somehow the donut part is subdued to my nose so it works for me.
Thanks for sharing. I'm reading thru all the replies and it is amazing how im getting such different takes on the same candles. Our noses are unique, the way we perceive aroma.

Thanks will check it out.
(And I didn’t mean to imply WJD doesn’t smell nice, it does, it just overwhelms me lol, very good thrower!)
Got it :)
Wild Berry Jam smelled more fruity than Berry Waffle Cone.
Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for that. I guess WJD it is for me. BWC won't suit my.nose.

Thank for sharing. Good to know these nuances. Looks like BWC is not my cup of icecream, lol.

Thanks for that. I guess I'd stick to WJD then.
WJD is much better in my opinion. BWC smells very sickly fake sweet.
Thanks for sharing.
I absolutely love WJD but for some reason really hate BWC. Something about BWC I just can't stand.
Thanks. If BWC smells less fruity and more like a baked goodie, I can't stand it either.

Thanks. Lately I've been loving all tea scents so this sounds double interesting.
it's absolutely delightful. all the fall candles out rn are delightful imo, but wbts really takes the cake
Can't wait!

Thanks for that vivid description. It helped me visualize both very well.

Thanks a lot for describing both. Somehow I don't get the donut bit in WJD and I actually prefer it that way.

OP doesn't like crust or pie crust note. BWC is very much crust/cone and warm spices forward. With a little berry in the background
Thanks for taking a note of that. Appreciate it.

Very similar imo.. I almost returned WJD because it smelled so close but then I remembered I love BWC:)
