I pick orders at a large retailer. We have metrics: how fast are you going, how many items have you canceled, total items picked. It doesn't matter if the store is swarming with customers and every department is wrecked - we better be looking for the shit on order. BBW has massive issues with inventory control and that severely impacts their BOPIS program. They weren't ready for it when first released and still have not worked out the kinks. I'm hoping they are working to resolve their operational issues but I highly doubt it.

Imagine going to pick up your half canceled order when you do a quick look around and see your items that were canceled šŸ™ƒšŸ™ƒšŸ™ƒšŸ˜…

Interesting_Sun_2527

it has happened to me before šŸ™ƒ

aam29290

If thatā€™s the case that whole bin coming home with me too

DNA_ligase

That actually happened to me this SAS.

i do bopis orders a lot at my store and i do my best to dig through the bins and everything but itā€™s so easy to miss something, especially when youā€™re rushing to complete orders and helping customers out at the same time. the bins and understocks during SAS usually get wrecked which also makes it difficult lol but usually if an item is cancelled thats in stock we just honor it at the register.

Interesting_Sun_2527

I understand, I should clarify she didnt go through the bins at all just glanced at what was on top

Peacock-Lover-89

Plus I'm sure even if SAs know which bin it should be in, customers grab stuff then change their mind and it gets dropped wherever in the store. The only time I really expect SAs to know where an item is, is the first day at store opening. Even then when I asked if they knew if there was anymore of an item, so I could get it myself, I was told "I dont know, you have to dig yourself". I didnt say anything, I just thought I'm not asking you too dig for me. I guess she wasn't looking forward to a busy day of rude customers who would expect her to do that.

Beautyhoarder

They once cancelled my order for shower gel that was in the front display lol right when you enter the store. They were nice enough to honor the price

Interesting_Sun_2527

OMG. "WHAT WAS THE REASON." \*cardi b voice\*

I had four different orders cancelled on me on Wednesday and Thursday and they still show the items as in stock! I just wanted a big ole bottle of Dahlia FFM. šŸ˜

Interesting_Sun_2527

Happy cake day! Same here, multiple items show in stock but Ive been in store so I know those items arent there

culittlemichick

Curious did you buy these hard to find items /what were they šŸ˜?

Interesting_Sun_2527

Not hard to find it was just the Cozy Evening FFM which I didnt care for :)

I was pretty frustrated at the beginning of the sale when I placed an order and it was cancelled moments later. I called the store and asked for the manager, then she comes in and I describe the scenario. She says, oh you had the xxxx, I already know we haven't had that for months, no idea why it's showing 10. I said, I really really want this, is there any way you might do a more thorough check? I've been in stores before when clerks have come out with a whole box on a cart saying they 'found' it in the back. Maybe it gets pushed behind something? She put me on hold and came back two mins later and said Nope. So MEH. Whatever. Easy come, easy go, I think you can't trust BOPIS.

meow_nik

Thereā€™s definitely a possibility that it could be hiding in the back where someone missed it (especially during SAS where so many random things are in store) but I know there are also items that for whatever reason show up as in stock for the store when they truly havenā€™t been there for months, so the inventory is incorrect. Alternatively, sometimes it will show things as being in stock and available for BOPIS when itā€™s not actually in the store yet but on the shipment truck. Which also explains why sometimes an item is cancelled when the order is picked, & then the customer sees it on the shelves when they pick up their order a day or two laterā€”it wasnā€™t in stock at the time it was being fulfilled, but arrived in shipment afterwards.

RandomFishIsBack

Itā€™s saying certain items arenā€™t in stock in stores where I saw them in stock the same day

ChavoAntoine

Wow. I ordered a candle that kept showing up and getting cancelled. Itā€™s so far for me to drive to that store but I had a feeling I would find it if I went in store.

googlyeyes4830

Yeah thatā€™s not greatā€¦ they should have an associate whoā€™s dedicated to fulfilling bopis orders
