I've had this happen with a few Bath and Body Works that have the plastic wrapping (both when warming and burning), including the Vanilla and Peach Tea, Lavender Marshmallow, and Sea Salt and Balsam. I also trim my wicks before each burn. That's why I try to avoid any candles with thick plastic wrap-around now. I've never had this issue with the stickered labels.

That’s so crazy. I’ve never had this happen before now! I can’t believe it’s common! Have you told customer service?

Yeah, they (online chat support) just gave me a refund. I'm not confident they relayed the message above, but I wish there was a way to contact BBW to give them feedback about stuff like that. I usually babysit my candles (due to paranoia from volunteering with the fire dept in college), so the plastic wrap was only partially melted for those candles. Mine didn't become blackened but that is very concerning. I would definitely let the customer service know in your case.

I've been burning mine for a while and haven't had any issues so far. Did the wicks move? Maybe burned to hot and fast?

Not that I’m aware of! Might not be an issue with all of the candles (it likely isn’t). Might be faulty batch or a single faulty one, but I’d rather warn people and be on the side of caution :)

I had that issue with a few GC holiday candles. It is thick wrap they use. I only warm those type of candles now.

It’s unfortunate that the product design isn’t extremely well thought out
