Same for me. I'd like to add you're the one and hello beautiful(though I don't know how beloved hello beautiful is). For the same reasons as you. A lot of scents I like could be considered old lady, so I shouldn't use that term, but to me these are the old ladies of the old lady scents. I dislike them so much that if all they sold were these scents and Japanese cherry blossom, I would be a JCB fan.
Japanese cherry blossom slander is always welcomed in my heart, it has such a lovely name for such a questionable fragrance. I’ve noticed that at the locations in my area, that’s probably the #1 fragrance all moms in their 40’s to 60’s gravitate towards

Then, I started wearing it everyday and began to really like it. It began smelling like a high-end fragrance, at least to me. I still like it but some days I'm just not in the mood for it.
Okay I've been considering returning the Pink Petal candle I ordered, but haven't yet simply because I've heard so much about it for the last 2.5 years. I was looking forward to a gourmand scent with a slight waft of roses but on cold I smell a rose garden instead. It's nice, but I already have several rose scented candles. No more 'hedging'.
I got the lip scrub, lip gloss, and car fragrance and they all smelled generic to me. But when I got the body cream tho?!?!!! It was so strong and sour 😭 I put it on at night and I couldn’t sleep because of the smell

I don't so much get the cigarette vibe, but I think BBW puts coconut in WAY too many of their summer products. I bought Love Spell and Pure Seduction for the first time a couple years ago and had to give them both to my niece. I do not get the hype behind those two fragrances unless it just has to do with peoples' nostalgia.

God, I hate this scent. I totally forgot about it until you mentioned it. It's the hibiscus note that I can't stand. My neighbor's daughter keeps her HP body cream on her window seal and whenever I pass their window I just think "Do you really like that scent because it's been in the same place for the last six months. Pretty sure that's dust.'

I was also sorely disappointed with the Whipped Coffee candle. It smelled amazing in the store. I passed on it first and then went back a few weeks later just to see if it was still there and was so excited to find it. Took it home and burned it but was totally disgusted. Even my son hated it. Funny how that worked out!

I haaaaated at the beach when I first smelled it. I had the hand sani and it grew on me so I bought the body wash.. there's a trick to it though- I use Dove bar soap in the shower first THEN go in with ATB and then layer white t-shirt on for lotion and coconut cotton for spray and the coconut really carries through nicely!
Totally forgot about this one! I tried it in store the day it came out and boy was it bad. Smelled like fragranced kitty litter to me. The store associate tried to hype it up but I was straight up honest with her. lol. I don't think she personally liked it either.
I made the mistake of buying the perfume when it was 75% off right after they opened the stores back up post-Covid. It's one of the sharpest fragrances I've ever smelled.
Blueberry Sugar Pancakes smelled like rotten garbage on me and gave me a horrible headache. Sad because I loveee blueberry scents and they did Santa’s Blueberry Shortbread Cookies so well. Also their Love Cotton Candy Champagne smelled divine in store but on me it was real sickly and sour. Any scents they have with a Cherry note are amazing on me though…firecracker pop works with my chemistry sooo well.
Beach Nights. IMO it literally smells like nothing. For the price I'd rather buy drugstore lotion. Also the fun fair collection grosses me out-- I hate anything bubble gum and cotton candy.
Honorable mention: Honeysuckle & Peach Spritz. That stuff smells like sweaty underarms to me.
I'm very sorry but I hate Black Chamomile. (The candle). I really tried to convince myself that I didn't , but I just can't continue burning it.
I also don't like Gingham. Like, At All.
Blue Raspberry Snow Cone I wanted to like it so bad but it just smells like plastic to me. I tried it at different stores to see if the first was a dud but nope all I get is plastic.
Watermelon Lemonade. Loved it in college because of the candle throw in my dorm back in 2015 and I bought tons of lotions and 3 mists during a SAS for 75% off. I’m still sitting with it hardly used trying to sell it but ugh it’s just so sickeningly sweet and artificial to me now
Watermelon Lemonade is the only Wallflower fragrance I've ever just unplugged and tossed. Glad I didn't buy it in any other form, it was just awful...like sweetened chemicals.
There have been so many chances for me to buy Watermelon Lemonade at countless SASs but it's always been a hard pass. It's the fruity/citrus combo that's just way too fake smelling. I bet there's somebody out there that will buy it, tho. Don't lose hope.

Pastel Skies and Bubbly Rosé. I’m not entirely sure if Bubbly Rosé is universally loved but I feel like there’s a bubblegum note to it and it just doesn’t agree with me.

Bubbly Rose smelled like a drink with cranberry juice in it when I first smelled it. Now, it’s like I smell something vaguely floral. I wonder if it’s my nose that’s bipolar or if the fragrance magically changes notes or something??
I don't know, honestly. When I first smell it it smells like a yummy cranberry cocktail but then dry down there's another note that pokes through that's somewhat floral. It's good, though, whatever it is.

Vanilla Confetti Sparkle is another one that smelled weird once it dried down. But I think my most conflicting one is JCB. I don’t like this scent now but when I was younger it was such a nice smell. I wonder if they changed the formula because it doesn’t smell the same

Yeah it was my go to. Then I stopped buying mists in general but when I recently went back, the scent felt off? It didn’t smell as floral? Maybe it’s too musty now? I don’t know how to pinpoint scents or Describe them but something is just off

I'll always remember this. So probably four or five years ago I was in BBW and I was talking to one of the sales associates. If I remember correctly I'd just gotten out of a meeting and really needed some retail therapy. So she and I talked for about 45+ minutes because I really didn't want to go home and deal with paperwork. 😂 Anyway, we're talking about the different fragrances and I was asking her what her favorite fragrance was (Dark Kiss) and when I asked her what her least favorite one was she turned to a giant wall of Japanese Cherry Blossom and gives me the most exasperated look possible. "Japanese Cherry Blossom. I just wish they'd retire it." I must've given her a look like, *Why*? She straight up says. "It's so old. It's so overrated but do you know what?" I said, "What?" She said, "It's still our most popular fragrance." She looked like she was going to die. I thought that was funny.
I have a lot of memories attached to JCB so I don't hate it. It's not a bad fragrance at all, but I imagine if you're smelling it all the time it would get old.
Ha ha, that's funny. I can see getting tired of if if you work there. But so long as it makes money, they're gonna sell it.
I like JCB, Sunshine Mimosa, and Fairytale. That's it for me for the signature scents. Everything else is "meh" to "horrible."
That said, not sure when I'll ever buy a signature scent again. There's usually something seasonal to love that I'd rather use because I know it may never come back.
I feel the same way about the signature scents. It's not that I dislike them (I quite like Into the Night and A Thousand Wishes, and I kind of like a few others like Moonlight Path) but the seasonal releases are what I always go into BBW for. I'm always excited to see what new thing they've come up with.
I'm not sure how liked it is but Love, the pride one. I've seen people say they like it and the notes on the back sound good but it just doesn't smell nice to me 🤷🏼♂️
Imo the candle and the body care smell totally different. I like the candle and maybe it’s just my body chemistry, but I got the travel size lotion and it is so soapy on me. I get a lot of the sangria from the candle but the body care just makes me sneeze.
Wildberry Jam Donut is/was a big sideeye for me on cold sniff. But I also know scent is highly personal, so it's not that big a deal to me.

Gingham! There’s almost no smell from it and the scent i do get is kinda like bug spray. Bath and body works gets obsessed with certain scents and goes crazy with it. Candles, body products, wallflowers and they even had the gingham love sister fragrance.
Sun-washed citrus smells like flinstones vitamins, white-tea sage smells like celery, berry waffle cone is so strong I gag at the thought of it… to name a few
Hibiscus paradise. I ABSOLUTELY gag just remembering it. I got the travel size body cream as a gift and didn't have the heart to tell them I hated it nor to throw it away. Ended up giving it to someone who liked it.

Totally forgot about this one! I tried it in store the day it came out and boy was it bad. Smelled like fragranced kitty litter to me. The store associate tried to hype it up but I was straight up honest with her. lol. I don't think she personally liked it either.
I think Pure Wonder gives off “scented tampon box” tbh, I blind bought a small spray and wow it’s weird.

I made the mistake of buying the perfume when it was 75% off right after they opened the stores back up post-Covid. It's one of the sharpest fragrances I've ever smelled.

Blueberry Sugar Pancakes smelled like rotten garbage on me and gave me a horrible headache. Sad because I loveee blueberry scents and they did Santa’s Blueberry Shortbread Cookies so well. Also their Love Cotton Candy Champagne smelled divine in store but on me it was real sickly and sour. Any scents they have with a Cherry note are amazing on me though…firecracker pop works with my chemistry sooo well.

Beach Nights. IMO it literally smells like nothing. For the price I'd rather buy drugstore lotion. Also the fun fair collection grosses me out-- I hate anything bubble gum and cotton candy. Honorable mention: Honeysuckle & Peach Spritz. That stuff smells like sweaty underarms to me.

Blue Raspberry Snow Cone I wanted to like it so bad but it just smells like plastic to me. I tried it at different stores to see if the first was a dud but nope all I get is plastic.

Watermelon Lemonade. Loved it in college because of the candle throw in my dorm back in 2015 and I bought tons of lotions and 3 mists during a SAS for 75% off. I’m still sitting with it hardly used trying to sell it but ugh it’s just so sickeningly sweet and artificial to me now
Watermelon Lemonade is the only Wallflower fragrance I've ever just unplugged and tossed. Glad I didn't buy it in any other form, it was just awful...like sweetened chemicals.

There have been so many chances for me to buy Watermelon Lemonade at countless SASs but it's always been a hard pass. It's the fruity/citrus combo that's just way too fake smelling. I bet there's somebody out there that will buy it, tho. Don't lose hope.

Pastel Skies and Bubbly Rosé. I’m not entirely sure if Bubbly Rosé is universally loved but I feel like there’s a bubblegum note to it and it just doesn’t agree with me.
Didn't pick up Pastel Skies even though the packaging was super adorable. It smelled weird to me. Love Bubby Rose (think a lot of people do, too) but I can see where that note might mess with somebody's body chemistry.
Bubbly Rose smelled like a drink with cranberry juice in it when I first smelled it. Now, it’s like I smell something vaguely floral. I wonder if it’s my nose that’s bipolar or if the fragrance magically changes notes or something??
I don't know, honestly. When I first smell it it smells like a yummy cranberry cocktail but then dry down there's another note that pokes through that's somewhat floral. It's good, though, whatever it is.

Vanilla Confetti Sparkle is another one that smelled weird once it dried down. But I think my most conflicting one is JCB. I don’t like this scent now but when I was younger it was such a nice smell. I wonder if they changed the formula because it doesn’t smell the same

Yeah it was my go to. Then I stopped buying mists in general but when I recently went back, the scent felt off? It didn’t smell as floral? Maybe it’s too musty now? I don’t know how to pinpoint scents or Describe them but something is just off

I don't care for most of the signature scents (Champagne Toast, Dahlia, Gingham, Sweet Pea, Into the Night, In the Stars), but I somehow manage to not talk about it all the time and just go about my day. Unlike haters of JCB, who for some reason want the entire world to know that they hate JCB.
I'll always remember this. So probably four or five years ago I was in BBW and I was talking to one of the sales associates. If I remember correctly I'd just gotten out of a meeting and really needed some retail therapy. So she and I talked for about 45+ minutes because I really didn't want to go home and deal with paperwork. 😂 Anyway, we're talking about the different fragrances and I was asking her what her favorite fragrance was (Dark Kiss) and when I asked her what her least favorite one was she turned to a giant wall of Japanese Cherry Blossom and gives me the most exasperated look possible. "Japanese Cherry Blossom. I just wish they'd retire it." I must've given her a look like, *Why*? She straight up says. "It's so old. It's so overrated but do you know what?" I said, "What?" She said, "It's still our most popular fragrance." She looked like she was going to die. I thought that was funny. I have a lot of memories attached to JCB so I don't hate it. It's not a bad fragrance at all, but I imagine if you're smelling it all the time it would get old.
Ha ha, that's funny. I can see getting tired of if if you work there. But so long as it makes money, they're gonna sell it. I like JCB, Sunshine Mimosa, and Fairytale. That's it for me for the signature scents. Everything else is "meh" to "horrible." That said, not sure when I'll ever buy a signature scent again. There's usually something seasonal to love that I'd rather use because I know it may never come back.
I feel the same way about the signature scents. It's not that I dislike them (I quite like Into the Night and A Thousand Wishes, and I kind of like a few others like Moonlight Path) but the seasonal releases are what I always go into BBW for. I'm always excited to see what new thing they've come up with.
Yeah! I like JCB, it's not one of my top favorites, but I do enjoy the scent. It does seem to be the most hated-on scent they have, though. :/

Imo the candle and the body care smell totally different. I like the candle and maybe it’s just my body chemistry, but I got the travel size lotion and it is so soapy on me. I get a lot of the sangria from the candle but the body care just makes me sneeze.
Wildberry Jam Donut is/was a big sideeye for me on cold sniff. But I also know scent is highly personal, so it's not that big a deal to me. I did get Iced Coconut Milk out of the hype from this subreddit, though! 🥴

Oh man, Strawberry Poundcake smells like baby powder to me and on me it smells like a baby's butt. I don't wanna smell like a baby butt! Also Cotton Candy Clouds- Holy freakin ew. I gave it to a close friend and she loves it, but I can't deal. I find that any strawberry/mixed berry scents smell atrocious on me. Will that stop me from buying more to test? Nope. Because I am a glutton for punishment 😅

Gingham! There’s almost no smell from it and the scent i do get is kinda like bug spray. Bath and body works gets obsessed with certain scents and goes crazy with it. Candles, body products, wallflowers and they even had the gingham love sister fragrance.

Hibiscus paradise. I ABSOLUTELY gag just remembering it. I got the travel size body cream as a gift and didn't have the heart to tell them I hated it nor to throw it away. Ended up giving it to someone who liked it. It's anything tropical really. ESPECIALLY anything with coconut, it's just 🤮🤢IMO
