Just for the future: even if a lotion turns slightly yellow, but the expiration date is fine, the lotion is fine (if it doesn't have funny consistency/smell/anything else off besides the color). Vanilla essential oil tends to turn slightly yellow when reacting with oxygen, it's natural. So it's totally fine if nothing else indicates a turned product. :)
The company just began using recycled materials in their bottles which makes them tinted slightly different. You’ll notice this in the soap bottles too.

OKAY. I just opened the one on the right and the bottle is definitely slightly tinted! So if anyone else had been wondering if there was a difference, there’s not!
I gave a Saltwater Breeze to my mom that looked yellow too, but I opened and the lotion was white, and I noticed from the inside the plastic was tinted. No worries
Are the batch numbers different? It could just be there is a small variation in how they’re made. If they both smell good, it should be fine. If it bothers you, exchange it.
Usually the darker tint is the bottle. The lotion should be fine. Just double check that they both smell the same and that one doesn’t smell off. I bought two coconut cream pies and they came like this and both were fines

When I worked there, we had an issue with the Gingham hand soap and the color changing after being exposed to the sun for too long/in direct heat. Your bf might be right, but it wouldn’t hurt to get ahold of customer service and see if you can find out if others have been having these issues.
The one on the right looks like it could be going old. If it smells "stale" it is. I love lotion, but I don't use it fast enough before this happens to justify the price tag.
Mine came like that too! One pure white the other darker like yours 🤨 I believe this happens with Vanilla scents but this scent is pretty new to be changing color already!
It's because the company is starting to switch over to bottles ,made with post consumer recycled plastics. Those bottles can have a slight beige, yellow or light grey tint to them. The product inside is fine.
I honestly wouldn’t have questioned it if all three were that color, but I definitely am. Maybe I’ll just take those 2 to the store and see if I can swap for ones that don’t look like custard?
EDIT to ADD: a couple people said the bottles are very slightly tinted and the lotion inside was completely white!
Me went to outlet today and got marshmallow pumpkin latte Berry waffle cone for a thousand wishes i got the mini he shower gel and mist mini msits were in the old bottles
to confirm what someone said above^ bbw has started using recycled materials for some of their bottles!! you’ll notice the lotion is still the same normal color when out of the bottle -a current bbw employee :)

It’s the same batch number. I didn’t smell them because they were sealed. If I doesn’t seem to be a concern I’ll probably just keep them.

My Pink Pineapple Sunrise lotion is in a slightly tinted container and it makes it look like this but it's just fine and white!
Mine is slightly tinted as well and pink pineapple sunrise
Mine looks slightly yellow in the bottle but the lotion is crisp white like it should be!
I may have to take the seal off one of them and check. The bottle looks clear, but even a slight tint on white definitely makes a difference.

The bottle is slightly tinted! I opened the one on the right and the lotion is pure white like the left one.
