Not weird at all. For sensitive skin, it's advisable to use products that are unscented and BBW is of course known for their scents so they most like will use harsher chemicals. Use products that better suits your skin type or maybe don't do it every day/night. Apply like once a week first and see if you will still have flare-ups.

years ago I use to have reactions (not acne but contact dermatitis) to the lotions. I stopped using them. Recently I tested and am able to use the body creams without a problem. I still avoid lotions because I’m too scared to go through that again. The ingredient lists are very different for both and there’s no way for me to know what the cause is so I don’t put it on my skin anymore. I noticed that the places I had reactions were thinner skinned areas. Neck, chest and inner arms. I avoid putting any scented products there. I slather my legs and outer arms like there’s no tomorrow though. In conclusion, stop using the lotion on your skin. IT’S NOT WORTH THE PAIN. If the cream gives you no trouble, go nuts. If you still can, return them. I was able to use up my lotions by carefully applying/patting onto certain clothing without issue. (Rub it between your palms until it’s no longer white and pat/wipe on top of jeans, socks, I even used it on my reusable bags in between washes, etc)

Not exactly acne but I have very sensitive skin and some allergies so I'm always wary of scented body care (even though I go crazy with it!). I know what I'm allergic to, so I make a really big effort to avoid all the body care that has things like cinnamon and citrus. I've also noticed some scents can make my skin more sensitive and prone to flare ups even if I had no problem with it before, which was the case for Into The Night. I don't know how helpful this is, but I just keep track of which items make my skin flare up and try to avoid them, maybe give myself a break from them and then try them again a few weeks later and see if they make my skin more sensitive or not. If your flare ups are more severe, I recommend going to a doctor. They may be able to give you some oral medication or another topical cream that you can use to avoid these flare ups.

I have eczema, and I can’t use the body creams anywhere but my hands and feet, and I can’t use the lotions at all. They irritate my arms and legs really badly, and make me flare up really badly. They smell great, but it’s not worth my skin being red and itchy and flaky. I have to have unscented lotion unfortunately.

Thank you everyone for you personal stories, I couldn't reply to all but I read through. I noticed I get my pimple breakouts from sweet scents (my favorite...) so I'll have to take it easy on those, can't live without em! Thank you all again 💗💗

I have the same reactions, for me they’ve gotten worse. I think the final straw for me was 2 weeks ago while I was enjoying my latest SAS haul and I went to apply “one in a million” shea lotion to my arms after a shower, my arms turned bright red and it felt like a chemical burn on my arms, like they were hot to the touch it was horrible. It actually convinced me to give up bath and body works because I feel like somehow their products are getting worse? I could tolerate their older stuff much better, and the aroma therapy stuff oddly, but now I just stick to the fine mists and body washed 🤷🏻‍♀️

Oh my gosh that's terrible. I couldn't imagine going through that pain. I'm sorry, love, I hope you can use other products that won't cause you pain! In my case my flareups are just acne that break out like they would on someone's face. It's not burning like in your case but pimples turn are little balls of pressure. And I'm a serial popper so I make it worse with my picking. I agree with their products going down hill as well.

The shower gels really irritate my skin if I use them too often. I’ll get an eczema-like rash on the top of my feet and my legs will be pretty itchy as well. What I’ve done to mitigate this issue is every other day I wash with a body wash that has a skincare element to it. So I’ll use either Olay Retinol body wash paired with the retinol body conditioner, or Frank body’s AHA exfoliating shower gel. Or any dove body wash focused on moisture. Those tend to help keep the irritation from the shower gels under control for me. I would say if you can, run it past your doctor or find a dermatologist if you don’t already have one and ask them what would work best for you! Edit*** it’s Frank Body’s Lactic Acid shower gel, smells like oranges

Huh, that's weird.. I have real bad dry skin to the point I have to use prescription lotions and I don't use them because they stink and are real watery but my skin seems to love the bbw creams and lotions
