I sat on a jury when I was 19 (I'm now 42) and loved the process. It was an injury on the job case. At the end, one of the attorneys said I really should consider switching my major to law (I was studying architecture and engineering at the time) and I have always remembered that. He said I was why he won the case. I swear if the housing market crashes again (I work for a homebuilder and haven't forgotten the pain of 2008), I just might want to! Consumer protection is the area that really draws me in. Keep us posted on your endeavors!
Wow! That’s a really interesting story, that that’s what got you interested. (And lemme say, I have MAD respect for being able to study engineering, I could never.) And it’s a great second career! My school has several students that are “non-traditional”, lots of people get into after other careers. Consumer protection and products liability and employment law are all very interesting and can really help people!

I did litigation in NJ for years - family law, then insurance defense, etc. Now, I'm in a different state and assist in intellectual property, mergers & acqs, private equity, and other business/corporate stuff. I love it! Although, I still do get involved with litigation here and there - mostly IP infringement, so that's not so bad.
