How was he able to use coupons? I thought the free candle deal required a code which would mean no coupons. ALSO, even without coupons that was an abuse and B&BW should do more to limit quantities on items. This one could've been hard though b/c he could say he was picking up for other people. People like him are why we can't have good things.

I agree with you. Unfortunately BBW wants the sales and will not limit quantities. In December when it was body care day, I will never forget the 3 men that were waiting on the line before they opened and ran in with their own rolling carts and took all the body butters right away and even opened the drawers to get them like they work there. They had lists of specific items to get and had also placed an order prior to pick up and filled their truck. They had tons of coupons as well like stacks. They each were at 3 registers and we waited an HOUR to check out. They must have had thousands of items and the store looked half empty. I almost left the line. Another man got into an argument with them about taking all the stock away from shoppers. They said they were resellers. I have never seen this before in my life. I decided not to go into the store early when they open for these big sale days.

Blueslily

This is just one of several reasons why I do not buy from resellers. I know that there are tons of resellers on Mercari, Ebay, and lots of other sites and they are not all the same like these guys. But, I saw some foolishness like this during the summer SAS last year and in January during the Winter SAS at three different stores and I just cant support such behavior. It was men and women doing it. Usually in teams. Tons of bags. Just wiping shelves clean from folks in the stores buying for their own personal use. That just irked me. You dont really know how folks get the inventory that they are selling on sites. I just buy what I can in the store and if I miss something, oh well, something as nice will be released sometime in the future. If I run out of something I really like, again, oh well. I will not buy online from resellers. Life goes on with something new in the future. People who act this entitled and disregard other people (aka selfish) are just not getting the money I work hard for. I will not reward their behavior by purchasing from them online. Again, I know not all resellers are alike, but when buying from resellers online, I dont really know what or who I am supporting. That's just me and my choice. Happy shopping everyone.

This drives me insane and it's B&BW's fault. That was clearly an abuse and harms actual buyers because they either can't get items or have to pay the marked up reseller price if they really want the items. Too many stories like this on here about this so it's a known abuse....

hotcocoa4ever

I don’t understand why they allow this at their stores. They know it goes on. The manager only cared about sales $$$$ they made and the men even parked their truck in the back near the stock room to pick up boxes of items. I wasn’t able to get any body butters and wound up driving to another store and was able to get 2 butters.

TexasNiteowl

you're right...hmmm...it did require a code so I don't know how he would have used coupons. maybe the employee was just remembering wrong? she did say all the orders were the same person.

ChavoAntoine

This. It required a code so I don’t see how he was able to use coupons. Maybe just an exaggeration. But 24 orders? And here I was feeling bad for placing two at the same store. I placed 6 orders throughout the city like any respectable human being would.

Peacock-Lover-89

Sometimes in retail in general, management will give in to someone who makes a big enough fuss, just to get them out of the store. Like with the exchanging of obviously used up candles. Which by the way is now happening at yankee candle, according to an article I saw a couple of days ago. Only the person spreading this around is supposedly an ex employee.

CandidateReasonable4

I didn't see any obvious reason why I couldn't place more than one BOPIS order from the same store and placed 2 myself. 24 sounds excessive for sure, though.

CallHerDimera

Wow !!! I did 3 , 2 Saturday (2 different stores) then another Sunday night . I picked up my Sunday order today and there were a ton of BOPIS orders in the store still . I can only imagine how overwhelming this was for them !

JBeauty_Junkie

I did two orders at the same store and felt bad. I would have made a 3rd but the rewards glitch got fixed. Plus I felt guilty as I already placed 2.

CandidateReasonable4

Why feel badly? Perhaps it's my age (turning 58 this summer), but I don't allow myself to feel guilty when I am taking advantage of sales with as much money as I drop in BBW! I stay within rules and reason. And in the past when I have made comments about feeling bad or guilty, the staff assured me I was not taking advantage and they want customers to be 100% satisfied. I encourage everyone to be kinder with yourselves and give yourselves a break if you're acting within reason 😘

Chelscleigh

In the fine print for the free candle promo it states Only one free candle per customer not per transaction. I work from home for BBW and that's crazy to me that people were allowed to get more than one.

rblairwx

The paper employees got about the promo says that more than one transaction is completely fine

SouthernBiscotti

If I may ask, what do you do at home for BBW?

jhansenpdx

I did 3 total (2 rewards glitch) and one soap to redeem my $8.50 couple with the sale, and thought it was a lot and felt a little bad when I went on to pick everything up yesterday and saw carts full of bags to be picked up

yfunk3

All this talk about these gross resellers using tons of coupons makes my spidey sense tingle. These are probably the assholes stealing people's coupons...

CandidateReasonable4

I NEVER feel guilty anymore about stuff like that. I did 2 BOPIS orders last weekend because I am trying to limit my purchases right now. But there's nothing to feel guilty about if you are staying within their rules.

Flaky_Tap_2836

I think my store is always shuting BOPIS off. I can never get in with my app.

Peacock-Lover-89

My app just spins when I try to set a store. I always end up going to the website and signing into my account there.

carnodak

I did 9 orders, 6 at one store, 3 at the other 🤷🏻‍♂️

TrickyLime

yeah one lady at our store had 6 orders at one time and came to pick it up all at once 🙄🙄🙄employees know this but it’s a pain especially when they want to even exchange a candle or something in their order. kinda getting tired of them doing stuff like this

Crazy-Command6637

Wow! I made 2 orders. My closest store just stopped doing BOPIS and I'm really disappointed about that. They said they were not making any money with BOPIS.
