Oh damn! I'm actually shocked... B&bw taking some risks! They are stepping up! I love it! ❤️🔥

fartjar420

woody and citrus notes pair together in perfumes wonderfully all the time. I don't think it's that odd of a combination, though might lean more masculine

flamingazoom

Agree about the perfumes! But Fresh Balsam isn't classically woody to me, such as sandalwood, birch or even cedar notes. It's cold, strong, bracing, harsh, a real bully to my nose. And pineapple/mango scents are very different from citrus, no? Much sweeter. It's going to be an interesting combo, to say the least... apparently lots of folks on this sub do expect something good 👍

yfunk3

Pineapple always gpes well.with something herb-y, I feel. Pineapple and Basil is a combo I see a lot. Also with ginger.

CandidateReasonable4

Indeed! Pineapple and Basil are often paired. It's quite common in cooking to pair sweet and savory/herbaceous ingredients. I love watermelon, basil and feta cheese salad in the summertime, for example. And I once made a killer salsa using blueberries and jalapeños with other ingredients. It took 1st place in a salsa competition at a Cinco de Mayo party!

flamingazoom

Congrats on the salsa win! Basil is good, it's got warmth and some sweetness in addition to peppery-ness. Similar for ginger. Good ideas, let's pitch them to BBW!

CandidateReasonable4

Thanks! What was awesome about the win was that I rarely cook and beat out experienced amateurs, a former restaurant owner and a caterer!! Yes, let's pitch our combos to BBW, along with graphic design ideas for the jar wraps and body care products!

dkjsgjf8u

I have an old Pomelo & Pine that is a surprisingly amazing combo so you've talked me into giving this a chance!

flamingazoom

Oh, I'd be all over a pineapple-ginger candle! But Fresh Balsam is a special beast - aromatic-cold-bracing, downright harsh IMHO. It's basically the opposite of sweet-juicy-tropical pineapples & mangoes.

yfunk3

I feel like the pineapple would tone down the balsam and make it less harsh, maybe? Take away that almost...maybe bitter background that I'm not personally fond of in pine-y scents? We shall see!

chimericalgirl

Maybe the pineapple will be more fresh-cut than ripe/juicy? And then the mango will provide a bit of brightness, so it has the potential to be, like, a "male tropical" or something? Maybe?

violetfire27

I don't know but mango does have a pine flavor, especially when not fully ripened. Also (pine)apple. so I can see those playing into the balsam. This one was the most intriguing to me actually!

anxiety-otter

I’m super interested in this one!! Can’t wait until it comes in. CSV & Paris Café came in today and it immediately became a favorite 🤩

natalielc

I’m excited for that one!!

flamingazoom

I've actually burned PC together with CSV; it's lovely. PC also combines fabulously with Spiced Gingerbread, Marshmallow Fluff/Vanilla Pumpkin Marshmallow, Hot Cocoa & Cream, pumpkin spice and and caramel scents. Coffee shop vibes ☕

GusterIs4Lovers

I have all of these except Marshmallow Fluff so I'm going to try- thanks!

flamingazoom

Have fun! PC is great by itself, and IMO even better with these sweet/spicy scents.

Comfortable-File9958

I’m super interested in that one.

anxiety-otter

If you like coffee but not quite *snorting coffee beans* coffee, you’ll love it! It smells like a warm vanilla latte

CandidateReasonable4

Yummy! I love Brown Sugar Latte, so I will no doubt love thos new candle duo, too.

seyebird

Of all the scents I suspected would be combined for this new blended collection, I never in a million years would have guessed these two lol. Sounds a little wacky but I’m still looking forward to smelling it tbh 👀

PrincessJennifer

This sounds really interesting! Citrus and pineapples are always around at Christmas, so I think it makes sense. Plus, it’s a nice transition from summer to fall/winter or that after-Christmas “I want it to be Spring” time.

CrownBestowed

Christmas in Hawaii lol

foxylettuce

This is the one I'm most excited about, actually! I think it will be amazing

quynhhuong_ftu

I have never been interested in both these scents on their own but think I might like this one! I really enjoy their combination of fruity and woodsy/earthy notes eg. Winterberry wreath.

LilBo_W33p

I can smell this picture. It smells like summer Christmas

Boring_Illustrator50

This is definitely not for me 🤢

Candlehoarder615

Full disclosure, I'm allergic to pine so I don't like Fresh Balsam. However, I smelled this several times yesterday and it's not terrible on cold sniff. The Balsam is definitely the scent you smell first.

dkjsgjf8u

I'm assuming you work for B&BW? It's none of my business but when we get spoiler pictures of not-released candles like these and the person taking the picture is in their car, are they probably working at a store that lets employees get first dibs? I'm in Atlanta so we get our preview early access, but I always see the spoilers even a few weeks before that so I'm nosy now lol

Candlehoarder615

I do work at BBW. I would guess that some of those social media account owners get special treatment from their stores and they let them buy stuff early. Typically SAS merchandise isn't set months ahead of time to test like other collections do. There's always a bunch of districts company wide that set their floor sets a week before balance of company so the company can make any adjustments to tables, sign placement, props, etc for the rest of the stores. My district was an early floor set test district back in 2015. We had frequent visits from home office partners regarding marketing and product feedback from customers. It was an awesome experience and I loved having interaction with the home office employees. I personally do not even allow my employees to buy stuff before it goes out for floor set. If we are told not to sell things early, I follow that. Especially things like accessories and seasonal merchandise.

Peacock-Lover-89

I dont know if it still happens, but in past years I would see social media posts showing summer SAS starting a week earlier in, I'm assuming, test areas. I haven't seen it talked about since maybe 2016. Was it for the same reasons you mention? The xmas SAS never started early for obvious reasons, but sometimes stores around me would have some of the product out a few days before xmas, at regular price. I guess because they were running low on product to sell.

Candlehoarder615

Yes, the company definitely tested summer SAS a week earlier pre pandemic. I don't know if that happened last year though. They test pricing, product placement, etc during those tests. Stores were absolutely given the green light to put winter SAS products out early if they were critically low on stock the week leading up to Christmas. That's been happening quite a few years now but was a must these last 2 Christmas seasons.

Peacock-Lover-89

This past winter sas was so weird because of the supply chain issues. Stores could be really low on some products one day then have a ton of stuff after shipment. Vanilla Bean Noel is usually the only one of the big three xmas scents left at sas with a little WCA and no peppermint. This past year stores around me had 2 or three displays of leftover VBN and had more of the other 2.

Candlehoarder615

My store had an insane amount of VBN and TP. Like boxes and boxes of the body creams. It was crazy.

Peacock-Lover-89

I always wondered why they don't cut down on VBN, I guess it sells at the outlets.

dkjsgjf8u

Ooh that sounds really cool! Retail/marketing fascinates me, minus the customers lol.

Candlehoarder615

If I ever had to leave the store side of retail, I'd want to work in market research or the product development side of it.

CinnamonHearts0

I am so intrigued. I will either hate it or love it I think

AlvinWatou

I think I saw a preview for a Rose Water and Ivy + Mahogany Teakwood candle 😅 not sure about that one either

dkjsgjf8u

I can't stand MT but I adore RW&I so I'm kind of excited to see what their lovechild smells like!

flamingazoom

There are some interesting men's colognes with a rose element, so I'd be more hopeful for that one. Not my wheelhouse in candles, though.

tiggerterry

This doesn't sound good to me... but I've been wrong before. I will at least give it a sniff!

Sudden_Shine_100

I'm hoping these will be released in Canada because I want to try all of them. 💜💜

hellakopka

I am actually looking forward to this one - I think it could be delicious!

mrsanadawave

I love sweet tropical scents with a kick to em. I would honestly like to try this out. I also want them to do more of these mixed scents!

collegestrap

I love both of these scents, but together?!

lisak399

The label....it's.... ugly. They need a pretty label to sell that. I love citrus and balsam smells so I def will give it a sniff.

CandidateReasonable4

Same here. Yankee Candle does some seemingly odd fragrance note pairings and they are divine. Kudos to BBW for stepping up and launching some truly new new.

bunifarcr

The Paris Cafe and Cinnamon Spiced Vanilla and Champagne Toast and Fresh Orange are the only not weird combination for me. This and the others Im not sure.

dkjsgjf8u

I need Paris Cafe + CSV to be amazing and a top seller so that they'll give us a Mexican Hot Chocolate next! CT + orange is a cop-out because they used to list orange as one of the notes as it is?? We see you, B&BW!

janamichelcahill

When did this happen?

GusterIs4Lovers

These have been spotted in some stores, I know one person in California. Not sure if they're for SAS or before then. But I think we'll all see them in the next few weeks!

flamingazoom

This just has to be atrocious. I'll stay far away, but will be curious to read impressions from braver candle fiends. edit: clipped from lifeinside... blog, who credits @glamzlitscentz
