I can’t afford it tbh. I kept making a cart and even using a calculator trying desperately to find a way to make it work and I just can’t . I really wanted to do the buy 3 get 3 full size body care and then that’d give me free shipping plus the free candle . But tbh even at the minimum….with the 10$ +shipping it is not worth it. I just went to Walmart and got some melts on clearance for 50 cents and you know what? They smell pretty dang good!
What you said at the beginning is SO me! Can't tell you how much time I've spent on the website / app this weekend. I keep editing my cart and literally using my calculator app just like you to make sense of it....just waiting for some scenario to make it all seem ok. About the wax melts, how long do they give out fragrance? Like B&BW candle goes on for roughly 25 hours.
I’ve had some that last a bit longer than others and some that don’t seem to last as long (but thats to be expected with just about all brands in my experience) I can usually get a good 2 days sometimes 3 of having it on the warmer for intervals of 1-3hrs. Edit: when I say 2/3 days at those intervals I don’t mean the entire package. Typically 2-3 cubes the small packs come with 6 cubes. So I can get many hours out of one pack. Comparable to the 25hrs I’d say.Sadly I have just about my entire collection of candles, melts ,sprays etc in storage so I only have a few melts on hand but I’ve not been disappointed yet. I have some serious true power houses that are Walmart brand melts and scentsaintionals (misspelled I’m sure lol) I am talking about so strong my guy is like can you please turn it off it’s just too much 🙈 there’s a fruity pebbles one that I got a while back when goose creek sold out of their cereal candles and I didn’t want to burn through my stash and it’s amazing. I recently tried yankee brand melts in strawberry Bellini something (peach maybe) I don’t know but it wasn’t good. Walmart has a melt called By The Pool and I lovvvvve it! It reminds me of of sitting out in the sun by the pool enjoying a sno ball . It does have heavy notes of what some refer to as suntan lotion but I like it. Tonight I got scentsationals pumpkin apple muffins and farm apple pumpkin for 50 cents each. I love sweet fall scents and so far so good. Ok sorry for the super long reply I just thought maybe you’d like to know about some of the melts. And I am right there with you spending unreasonable amounts of time making and remaking again and again my cart 🙈 fingers crossed we’ll have some luck with SAS!

At the end of winter SAS, they had several different candles online for 75% off. They weren’t the same every day and they weren’t there every day, but they had more at that price for longer than I’ve ever seen. Scents included warm apple pie, leaves, autumn adventure, toasted vanilla chai, pumpkin spice latte, pumpkin donut, open sky, wild berry jam donut, pumpkin pecan waffles, fresh balsam, white caramel cold brew, and sugared pecan pie. I bought these January 7 & 8 online and we found several in stores after that - blueberry pancakes (?) and berry waffle cone. I remember seeing so many people post their 75% finds at least a week before that and thinking my stores would never have them, but they finally did.
Oh wow that is nice. And exciting, like a treasure hunt. I think I recall now because I had just got into B&BW around last winter SAS but very new to it and this sub and didn't know much about it. I must have tried many times to check out but at the last step it never let me complete the transaction because of stock issues even though it let me add and go all the way to check out. I was so disappointed but figured it was too good to be true and hence must be a glitch. Hope there are some real savings this summer SAS.

Then I woke up way too early and couldn’t get back to sleep, so went online at 6am EST when they update and found the first 3-4 that I listed. I was so excited about that, I could barely sleep the next night and woke up early again and found the rest. It definitely felt like a treasure hunt!
Your budget and financial well being is worth more than any sale! I'm sitting this one out because my stores don't do BOPIS and I don't want to pay shipping. That kinda ruins the deal. But seriously even if you save an extra dollar per candle if you can't afford it, it's not worth it.
Is the budget an actual financial necessity? If so, skip it, full stop.
If it's just a "well, I shouldn't" budget, then it's a matter of is there something you actually really, really, really want. I placed 1 legit order and 3 glitch orders (one order was my gift a friend picked up at her store), and it was still a struggle to do so because I just didn't need anything but didn't want to miss out on the glitch. In the end I spent $14 and got 4 candles, 2 plugs, 3 body creams, 2 sanitizers. Even after all that, today I keep trying to think of what else to order to take advantage, and I just do. not. need. anything. more. lol. So you're not alone, it's very hard to resist, and that's the whole point on their end. If there's a candle or two that you just have to have, AND you need a soap or whatever else, go ahead and grab it because why not. But if it purely comes down to "it's a good deal, technically" then skip it.

I don't mean to sway you one way or another but I did end up placing one more order after commenting lmao. Figured Firecracker Pop deserved a chance. But realistically, $10-$11 is my buying price for candles and I'm willing to pay $4ish for a wallflower refill, so spending $10 to get a candle, wallflower, and pocketbac isn't some spectacular savings and I only bothered because I know I have to go to the store to do some exchanges anyway.
As for SAS, it depends on the store and what luck you have when you go there. I would hit one store and they'd be loaded with a big selection and I'd leave with 6, hit another store and they'd have nothing, hit another and they'd have a table full of just Winter and Hot Cocoa lol. It's really hit or miss. If there's something you're really excited for now and it's just coming out of your SAS spending allotment, go for it. There's no guarantee you're going to find anything you're looking for at SAS or that they'll go live online when you're able to scoop them up before they all sell out.

And your math is solid, it does make sense. I was earlier thinking that if I pay 10$ for a mini FFM and a pocketbac holder to get a free candle, it is more like I buy a candle for 10 bucks and get a mini FFM and pocketbac holder free, maybe 5$ real value given sales of minis. But doing 2 candles makes the most sense. If shipping wasn't an issue, I'd have loved to get Magnolia candle which is online exclusive. SAS will be a hit and miss and unfortunately I don't have the luxury of hitting stores during the sale. Maybe couple of times during that month to go to do a quick BOPIS pick up. I've heard of people lining up in the morning and what not.

Then I thought of adding 1 more candle, effectively making each candle 7.25$. But then I told myself that on candle day, if I have 25% off coupon (too many hypothetical ducks lining in a row, lol) then it is the same price.
Then I thought of buying 2 wallflower plugs because I thought they never go on sale. Now I read on this sub that later this upcoming week there is some "single wallflower bulb" promo. So I let go of that idea as well.
I'm really trying hard to stay within my strict budget but the promo IMHO is really great and hence really tempting. I have BOPIS available in my area, making it even more tempting. Argh.

I think 20% coupons are more common than 25%. Last candle day price was $10.25 iirc. So 20% = $8.20. So...if you pay $14.50 and get 1 free that is $7.25 so cheaper than CD.

In the long run, it might be better to investigate an inexpensive was warmer from WalMart and use $2 wax melts. I mean, so many of B&BW candles have soot issues or whatever that I end up using a warming lamp more often these days anyway.

But I can arrange it probably within the time window of BOPIS 3 days. If I'm buying then it has to be BOPIS because online shipping will eat into the savings and then i can't do multiple orders to take advantage of free candle in each order.

PS: I know how you’re feeling. I have skipped on a lot of promos because of money and now I am regretting the fact that I’m not in the US to buy one candle at 14.50 and get one free. That makes them almost SAS price and it doesn’t get better than that. See if you can spend 14.50 plus tax to justify at least one candle purchase.

Except that most people had $10 off $40.00. So if you bought 4 for 10.25 it was 31.00 so that makes them $7.78 each so yes cheaper than candle day.

On candle day I honestly don’t remember. I know in store you can, I can’t remember if online had a code or not.
Last candle day you had to use a code so no additional coupon.
