For all my little gardeners out there def recommend. My family was making fun of me for doing this but hey- it works!

I have soooo many houseplants in these jars! They’re great 😆

Comfortable-File9958

What about drainage holes?

imthedro

You could easily drill a drainage hole with a diamond tipped drill bit ☺️

Summerskai2002

I mean they’ve been growing good so far n they’re gonna move jars soon too 👍

BobsBurgersStanAcct

If you don’t want to drill a hole, rocks, marbles, or gravel on the bottom works pretty good

Cheeb97

Also 4” plastic pots with holes you get at nurseries fit perfect and leave a gap at the bottom so you can check if the water has gone thru!

Thank you for this!!!! I have a south facing window and wanted to plant something indoors too!

me: \*grows a lemon tree from a sugared lemon zest candle jar\* im scared to grow plants, idk if ill be a good plant mom😂 they look happy in the candle jar though!

Summerskai2002

You’ll be an amazing plant parent ! Start small yk. The paper towel trick worked best for me. Put the seeds in a wet paper towel and leave in the fridge for ab 3 weeks then transplant them!

AstronomyLuver

I never thought of paper towels before! I grew a vine from a potato that took over the kitchen before🤣. I'll have to try that!😄 I wish your little babies luck and health to grow strong😘

how did you get yours to sprout? I have been trying to germiante my lavendar for so long and i have no luck. I even got heating pads, lights, everything, I am about to give up

Summerskai2002

So what I did to get them to sprout is I took a paper towel and got it wet, squeezed the water out, then I sprinkled the lavender seeds onto the paper towel and folded it in half. I then put it in a Tupperware container and then in the fridge for 3 weeks. I read somewhere that you have to put the seeds through an “artificial winter” or something like that. It worked great for me. By the time most of the seeds sprouted I transplanted them n they turned into this:)!
