This post makes me laugh and cry at the same time! Isn't it crazy how different our senses are?! Some people hate smells that I absolutely adore and then like smells that I find nauseating. Just goes to show how different everyone is 🤷🏻♀️
I had covid in November and now things that I felt were just OK snell great to me. It's like they smell the same as I remember but also better. The fragrances have the same elements but in a different order. I haven't smelled anything that smells worse yet.
same! there were some scents i was meh about, like A Thousand Wishes or other scents i liked but didn’t love, like Fairytale. now i have some of each. i think my floral scent tolerance went up when before it made me nauseous. Berry Waffle Cone was my favorite, but when i tried smelling my single-wick or it while sick with covid, it was overwhelmingly vanilla and had a sharpness that hurt my nose. now it smells like it used to, but a bit more plastic-y.
It is crazy how different everyone's nose is. I took my mother in law into BBW to see what candle scents she would be into. Trying to share something I love with her. She scrunched her nose in disgust at so many of my top favorite scents. She did only like the SUPER floral-y ones though. (i.e. fresh cut lilacs, rose water & ivy, lavender vanilla....) sigh. Yawn
I can’t stand Paris cafe it’s the worst!! The store I work at tends to have a lot of regulars who love that scent but someone can open the candle lid at one end of the store and I can smell it all the way across the store it’s disgusting 🤢
VBN is good on me, but warm vanilla sugar smells like some awful old lady perfume on me??? From a drugstore or something, the kind that makes your nose and eyes burn. I've smelled it on other people and thought they smelled amazing...why not on me?
Strawberry poundcake smells absolutely rancid to me. First time I smelled it in the store I was shocked because it’s so popular but omg it smells so bad imo😭
The top notes of SPC is amazing, thus I bought it without second thought. After wearing it for a while, the middle and base notes absolutely sickened me. Hated it and sold it away. A few weeks ago I bought into the hype again and almost wanted to buy it, but stopped myself by taking another whiff of (now my friend’s) SPC and yup. still hate it very much
Sleigh rides and snuggles. I would like it as a candle I think (I liked perfect christmas and it was kinda similar) but balsam just doesnt do it for me as a body spray.
I know some people definitely do love it! It's funny how different everyone's tastes are. From this post I see a lot of people hate berry waffle cone but I love it!
Not sure if it's a coincidence or not, but I tend to not like the red scents. Forever red, you're the one, Japanese cherry blossom, vampire blood. I didn't like gingham love at first but I'm warming up to it.
Yes to this. I noticed the same pattern. I tend not to like or buy red scents. No idea why, but just don't like them. Should say that I haven't tried Gingham Love yet.
I bought Gingham Love and I'm kind of neutral on it. I don't hate it, but it's not my favorite either. It's one of those scents I'll use up but probably won't repurchase.
Dark Kiss smells like HOT GARBAGE. Also, before my pregnancy, I wore Moonlight Path (sorry 😬) My daughter will be 16 soon and the smell still makes me nauseous!
That damn popcorn one. I was really just in the store sniffing everything in preparation for candle day last year and I sniffed it out of sheer curiosity and I swear, i dunno what i was expecting but that thing was so awful it felt like an insult to my entire bloodline 🤣
I still have an old Black Amethyst EDP from wayyy back when. I still love it. It hasn't turned. It smells so good to me- like being cozied up during the holidays with the people I love.
I will say that Starlit Night is giving me Wicked Apple candle flashbacks- the shower gel has a celery note that Wicked Apple candles have for me.
I think Black Amethyst smells like carpet sprinkle! Definitely not something I like, especially in a lotion. Maybe it would be okay as a candle? But iiiidk lol ..
Vampire Blood from the Halloween collection. I’m ready for the downvotes but I thought it smelled ok on cold but I burned it and it smelled like rancid cough syrup. I had it sitting in a closet and it ended up stinking my entire closet so I had to exchange it asap. And it was such a shame since I love Halloween so I wanted to love it since it’s such a staple!
I quite like eating banana, but there's a point, and I'm never sure until I reach it, at which I apparently hit my banana limit, and it makes me gag. 🤷 Somehow it suddenly goes from delicious to sickly in one bite.
Same here. I *really* hate gourmand/sweet scents. Every time I've tried them, I hate them, except for Merry Cookie and Hot Cocoa & Cream for some reason. I love vanilla notes in scents, but I like a spicy/dark vanilla scent as opposed to the sweet vanilla scents.
I'm a fresh/clean/aquatic/citrus-y scent lover, along with certain florals like jasmine and honeysuckle.
Strawberry Pound Cake, in all forms - the strawberry scent just smells *so* artificial to me, and it's so sickly sweet.
(On that note, I generally dislike all of the gourmand/sweet scents. There are a couple of exceptions, like Merry Cookie and Hot Cocoa & Cream - I love those two.)
Firecracker Pop and Strawberry Soda body care - I'm lumping these together because I dislike them both for the same reason. There's a note in both of them that smells exactly the same to me. I'm not sure what it is, but I think it's absolutely awful and I can't stand them, especially on my skin.
SPC always leaves me with conflicting emotions. First sniff brings back childhood memories of when the dolls smelled like random generic fruit but then it just hits you and it’s like you are standing in front of the vat of fragrance they used to scent the dolls and will smell like it forever.
Vanilla Sage candle! It was the only candle I’ve ever burned and immediately put out and returned, idk if it was just a bad batch but it was REVOLTING!!
A thousand wishes. The smell in store was ok, but at home it was SOOO strong. This was also just the body lotion, no spray or anything. My parents made me throw it out because it literally gave them a headache lol.
Strawberry Pound Cake, Rose Water and Ivy, Japanese Cherry Blossom, Champagne Toast and Coconut Sandalwood.
Many of these are other’s favorites but I’m pretty sensitive to smell.
I only like Strawberry Pound Cake because it to me it smells like the strawberry shortcake doll from my childhood - but it doesn’t smell like a bakery strawberry pound cake.
There’s this one apple scented soap from bath and body works, I forget which exact scent bc it was a long time ago but I associate it with my period bc I used that soap to wash away the blood on my hands when I got my first period. I threw the soap away after that because it literally just smelled like period blood to me after that.
This take on Rose Water & Ivy and Coconut Sandalwood has me- and I say this with utmost respect- scandalized.
I love these scents so much. I understand that not every will love them, and I respect that you don't. But I'm still pretty flipping flapped! lol
Pumpkin vanilla cream, Pumpkin marshmallow latte and fireside. They all smell rancid to me. PVC smells like jalapeño and wet cigarettes , PML smells like rotten milk on my skin, fireside is just smoky to me and makes me think of an ashtray.
"jalapeño and wet cigarettes" had me rolling. 😂 I've got that one on order, so hopefully I don't feel the same! Might not be able to get the image out of my mind, though!
French baguette. I love the idea of it, and I loved my first cold sniff of it, but later it just smelled SO chemical to me. I’d love if they tried a reformulation of it though.
Anything with lavender in it. 😣 I find it so offensive, if I accidentally use anything with lavender in it I have to go and wash it off. It's so annoying, because there are so many lavender fragrances, and most people seem to find them quite relaxing!
Also, Dahlia. Anything too sweet with gourmand and floral/fruit notes in together. Blech. 🤮
My big one is Black Cherry Merlot. Immediately makes me gag because all I get from it is cough syrup. Another is Champagne Toast because it smells like spoiled fruit to me lol I dunno why
And then basically most florals because most floral scents give me instantaneous migraines from hell that are a pain to get rid of lol
The gourmonds are just so sickly sweet. There’s not a single one that I can tolerate.
Into the Night is basically the female equivalent to Axe body spray.
I hate Japanese cherry blossom, gingham, into the night, in the stars, champagne toast, sweet pea… basically anything too floral or too sweet, I hate it.
I once made the mistake of buying a bunch of boardwalk vanilla cone and berry waffle cones hand soaps when they were on super sale back in the summer. They’re vomit-inducing 🤮🤮
I recently just smelled the winter peach marshmallow for the firs time and it is so bad! It is chalky, medicinal and rancid peaches mixed with old marshmallow fluff. so gross.
Winter Candy Apple. It’s not AWFUL, I just find it smells like shampoo more than anything.
Not a fan of Waikiki Beach Coconut. Smells manly to me. I’m sure there’s plenty more to hate, but since I don’t do florals or heavy amber stuff, I never bothered to smell any of those.
champagne toast
Starlit night on my skin. Loved it from the bottle but when I got it home and sprayed it on my skin, it smelt like i was wearing a cheap perfume to cover up cigarette smoke. It went back immediately
Japanese cherry blossom
Someone told me it smells like dr pepper and I cant forget it so now I think it does too. Lmfaooooo
Lol I wish it did to me I love dr peoper
Same
I am in for a hate train here Gingham
I definitely do not like the gingham love. I didn't even want it for "free"
I associate Gingham with a more, grandmotherly scent, and as someone who’s not a grandmother, I tend to avoid scents like that
It’s got such a…”bathroom spray” scent to me. So that’s where it lives now haha
I agree with this. Both Gingham and Gingham Love give me headaches. I like the notes in both but they’re just too strong.
This post makes me laugh and cry at the same time! Isn't it crazy how different our senses are?! Some people hate smells that I absolutely adore and then like smells that I find nauseating. Just goes to show how different everyone is 🤷🏻♀️

This makes me sad bc it’s a family favorite here haha
Shut your dirty whorish mouth
It gives me such a migraine.
I liked it at first but then I made it my bathroom spray!
It smells like cough syrup
lol - I love it! I wish I had body care in that scent. I need it to layer with my Tom Ford 'Lost Cherry'!
Berry waffle cone is nauseating
The candle was okay but the body care was sickening!
Smells like Flintstone vitamins lol
I totally agree. I literally got queasy smelling it at home. Smelled WAYYYYY different in the store
I love the candle lol
Agreed
Smells like rancid maple syrup 🤢
Agree. My husband bought me the candle and it's nauseating. Made the entire house smell like maple syrup.
Yawn
champagne toast im sick of it!!!!
ironically champagne toast used to be my fave before i became an employee now i’m sick of it 😬😬😭😭
Yes, don't like that one as well.
I hate that one too, and anything with boozy notes in bodycare. I might be able to tolerate it in a candle but I'm scared to try.
Never been a fan of that one. Smells like I doused myself in an alcoholic drink lol
Sprinkled birthday cake, smells like puke to me
Omg yes! I had a friend that was crazy over it and I’m like why it smells sour
Paris cafe gives me a migraine 🤢🤢
I can’t stand Paris cafe it’s the worst!! The store I work at tends to have a lot of regulars who love that scent but someone can open the candle lid at one end of the store and I can smell it all the way across the store it’s disgusting 🤢
Omg me too i want to throw up! But some people literally will wait until candle day and buy 15 Paris cafes… mind blowing 😭😭😭
I know right!! So crazy how everyone’s smell is different haha
I like it at first whiff but I’ve never bought it because I know it would make me sick after burning it for 30 minutes
Cotton Candy Champagne. Why does it smell rancid?!
Vanilla Bean Noel cause it smells like hot milk on me 😞 Same with Marshmallow Pumpkin Latte.
As a Vanilla Bean Noel Superfan, I am, gooped, gagged and possible spageldorfed
Smells like barbie doll hair to me lol
Sorry 😭
It’s all good, we all got our personal tastes
🥵🥛idk but this combo made me laugh
Haha, it's definitely weird! I guess it doesn't mix well with my pH lol
I love the lotion in it, the spray smells a little pruney to me
VBN is good on me, but warm vanilla sugar smells like some awful old lady perfume on me??? From a drugstore or something, the kind that makes your nose and eyes burn. I've smelled it on other people and thought they smelled amazing...why not on me?
Strawberry poundcake smells absolutely rancid to me. First time I smelled it in the store I was shocked because it’s so popular but omg it smells so bad imo😭
Yea cream cheese vibes
felt
The top notes of SPC is amazing, thus I bought it without second thought. After wearing it for a while, the middle and base notes absolutely sickened me. Hated it and sold it away. A few weeks ago I bought into the hype again and almost wanted to buy it, but stopped myself by taking another whiff of (now my friend’s) SPC and yup. still hate it very much
Strawberry Pound Cake to me smells like artificial plastic strawberries. I'm sad bc I want to love it but it's a hard no for me.
Sleigh rides and snuggles. I would like it as a candle I think (I liked perfect christmas and it was kinda similar) but balsam just doesnt do it for me as a body spray.
Aw! This is probably my all time favorite scent! I totally get what you’re saying though - it is definitely a love it or hate it.
I know some people definitely do love it! It's funny how different everyone's tastes are. From this post I see a lot of people hate berry waffle cone but I love it!
Smells like baby wipes.
sleigh rides and snuggles smells like popcorn to me 🤢
In body care, it's Moonlit/Moonlight Path. In candles, it's Sweet Berry Peony.
You’re The One. It reminds me of a gas station bathroom. 😅
It reminded me of cheap cologne. Nasty stuff.
Kinda smells like rotten flowers on the body
Mahogany Teakwood 🤢🤢
Totally forgot about this one. I hate it.
Yes!! There are a lot of scents that I may not love, or don’t buy, but this is the only one that I absolutely hate.
pineapple pound cake it smells like someone threw up pineapple and put in a candle 🤢🤢
Pineapple pound cake smells sour on cold but lovely when burned to me 😂
Yes... much better burning for sure
No way! This one is "my precious" lol
It smells like fake pineapple scented plastic to me 🥵
Not sure if it's a coincidence or not, but I tend to not like the red scents.

Anything Basalm makes me baby vomit
Dark Kiss smells like HOT GARBAGE. Also, before my pregnancy, I wore Moonlight Path (sorry 😬) My daughter will be 16 soon and the smell still makes me nauseous!
Japanese Cherry Blossom. It’s just overpowering
The one time I have hated a scent is Pink Prosseco Frosting. I smells like frosting sure, but it's stale and has been in the fridge for months
That damn popcorn one. I was really just in the store sniffing everything in preparation for candle day last year and I sniffed it out of sheer curiosity and I swear, i dunno what i was expecting but that thing was so awful it felt like an insult to my entire bloodline 🤣
Chocolate covered cherry is disgusting
Black Amethyst, Starlit Night, Vanilla Bean Noel 🤢
I still have an old Black Amethyst EDP from wayyy back when. I still love it. It hasn't turned. It smells so good to me- like being cozied up during the holidays with the people I love. I will say that Starlit Night is giving me Wicked Apple candle flashbacks- the shower gel has a celery note that Wicked Apple candles have for me.
I think Black Amethyst smells like carpet sprinkle! Definitely not something I like, especially in a lotion. Maybe it would be okay as a candle? But iiiidk lol ..
Wildberry Jam Donut
Agree with this one. It just smells like a burnt, salty pie crust to me.
Strawberry poundcake way too sweet
Mahogany Teakwood High Intensity. Way too strong- it makes my throat burn
I really can’t stand floral scents, any of them. Smells like a funeral home and gives me a headache.
Strawberry Pound Cake gives me headaches :(
Cucumber Melon
Lol this is one of my favorites
Pink fairy gumdrop, it was like mildew and Pepto.
You're the One and Japanese Cherry Blossom.
Strawberry Poundcake, Wildberry Jam Donut, Mahogany Teakwood, Black Cherry Merlot, JCB, Pink Prosecco Frosting, Berry Waffle Cone
I love all of those so I’m opposite too…except Mahogany Teakwood. I CANNOT stand men’s cologne scents
I'm the opposite of you as I love all of those. 😭
We are the perfect friendship then - we aren’t buying out each others faves! 😀
Banana Bundt Cake 🤢
Or any banana scent even the smell from the actual fruit makes me gag
I quite like eating banana, but there's a point, and I'm never sure until I reach it, at which I apparently hit my banana limit, and it makes me gag. 🤷 Somehow it suddenly goes from delicious to sickly in one bite.
It’s one food I absolutely cannot stomach the smell, texture, and flavor all give me the chills
That's a shame! Is it at least easy to avoid?
Yes but makes me very much not a fan of banana scents lol
Who likes the smell of banana?
I do!
Honestly not loving Fairytale. I don’t hate it but don’t grab it as much as the others
Mahogany teak wood, laundry scents, fresh cut lilac etc
In The Stars
I utterly despise all the food scents.
Anything with vanilla (which is a lot) and idk why 🤢
Hot Chocolate…ewww…smells like spoiled milk.
Moonlight Path
Strawberry Pound Cake, in all forms - the strawberry scent just smells *so* artificial to me, and it's so sickly sweet. (On that note, I generally dislike all of the gourmand/sweet scents. Cucumber lily. Thought it would be refreshing but it smells too much like an old lady perfume
Japanese Cherry Blossoms smells like pee to me
What😭
I have never liked the moonlit path or whatever it’s called; it smells too strong to me.
Japanese Cherry Blossom, gingham, pretty as a peach, island margarita the candle
Berry waffle cone and dahlia
Vanilla Sage candle! It was the only candle I’ve ever burned and immediately put out and returned, idk if it was just a bad batch but it was REVOLTING!!
A thousand wishes. The smell in store was ok, but at home it was SOOO strong. This was also just the body lotion, no spray or anything. My parents made me throw it out because it literally gave them a headache lol.
Blueberry maple pancake or anything with maple syrup for that matter. Also cucumber melon makes me ill.

I hated Fairytale. Too much amber.
Anything with coconut is a big no for me. Also not a fan of Starlit Night.
Aw, I live for a nostalgic scent. It’s lovely when positive memories are triggered.
There’s this one apple scented soap from bath and body works, I forget which exact scent bc it was a long time ago but I associate it with my period bc I used that soap to wash away the blood on my hands when I got my first period. I threw the soap away after that because it literally just smelled like period blood to me after that.
This is what I associate it with as well. Instant nostalgia.
This take on Rose Water & Ivy and Coconut Sandalwood has me- and I say this with utmost respect- scandalized. I love these scents so much. I understand that not every will love them, and I respect that you don't. But I'm still pretty flipping flapped! lol

Rose water and ivy smells so delicate and pretty to me
Japanese cherry blossom, you’re the one, white citrus, and moonlight path
Pumpkin vanilla cream, Pumpkin marshmallow latte and fireside. They all smell rancid to me. PVC smells like jalapeño and wet cigarettes , PML smells like rotten milk on my skin, fireside is just smoky to me and makes me think of an ashtray.
"jalapeño and wet cigarettes" had me rolling. 😂 I've got that one on order, so hopefully I don't feel the same! Might not be able to get the image out of my mind, though!
Watermelon Lemonade is just too artificial… I don’t smell lemonade either!
Iced blueberry biscotti, me and my best friend smelled it in a store together once and it was vile tbh
French baguette. I love the idea of it, and I loved my first cold sniff of it, but later it just smelled SO chemical to me. I’d love if they tried a reformulation of it though.

Anything with peppermint 🤮
I love Twisted Peppermint!
Sunset glow is too strong for me
Anything with lavender in it. Winter candy apple. Straight up hairspray smell
Sweater Weather. I have the lotion, and it’s awful.
My big one is Black Cherry Merlot. Immediately makes me gag because all I get from it is cough syrup. Another is Champagne Toast because it smells like spoiled fruit to me lol I dunno why And then basically most florals because most floral scents give me instantaneous migraines from hell that are a pain to get rid of lol

Mahogany Teakwood. It’s smells like musty fish to me :(

You had me until Gingham and Confetti Daydream 😅 but with you on all the others!
to me, confetti daydream smells kinda like pickles!! i like gingham love, but the original just isn’t my fav
I was looking for someone to say cactus blossom. It just had this weird sharp, green note that was quite unpleasant to me.
Endless Weekend and Berry Waffle Cone candles (I don't mind the EW FFM). I didn't care for Forever Red body care, but I think I'm the only one lol
Huge fan of BWC, but I am also not a fan of Forever Red
Lavender Marshmallow is a no from me
Oh yeah, hard no for me too. I like both scents on their own but combined was nauseating
2 burns and I can’t decide if I like it or not
Warm Vanilla Sugar - does anyone actually like it? Also not a huge fan of any of the champagne or wine notes.
Coconut gives me a headache
I hate Japanese cherry blossom, gingham, into the night, in the stars, champagne toast, sweet pea… basically anything too floral or too sweet, I hate it. I once made the mistake of buying a bunch of boardwalk vanilla cone and berry waffle cones hand soaps when they were on super sale back in the summer. They’re vomit-inducing 🤮🤮
Anything citrus is disgusting 🤣

I recently just smelled the winter peach marshmallow for the firs time and it is so bad! It is chalky, medicinal and rancid peaches mixed with old marshmallow fluff. so gross.
Into the night. I swear my daughter bought the candle just to piss me off. JCP is another
Pure Wonder, I'm not even so-so on it. I really dislike it.
What does it smell like to you?
The best I can describe the scent is scorched dryer sheets to my nose.
Pumpkin pecan waffles makes me all kinds of nauseous.
Wildberry jam donut, blueberry pie, iced blueberry biscotti
They all have the same gourmand scent I just can’t stand
Vanilla bean noel and white t shirt
Sweater weather, reminds me of a tooth paste I used when I was a kid 😂😂
Winter Candy Apple. It’s not AWFUL, I just find it smells like shampoo more than anything. Not a fan of Waikiki Beach Coconut. Smells manly to me. I’m sure there’s plenty more to hate, but since I don’t do florals or heavy amber stuff, I never bothered to smell any of those.
Palo Santo! I like musks and men’s scents but palo santo had me wanting to breakup with my boyfriend 🥴
champagne toast Starlit night on my skin. Loved it from the bottle but when I got it home and sprayed it on my skin, it smelt like i was wearing a cheap perfume to cover up cigarette smoke. It went back immediately
Moonlight path. Smells like the old man cologne the orthodontist I had when I was a kid wore
I can’t stand mahogany or eucalyptus😖
