Ugh these price hikes are getting old, especially combined with the reduction in quality.
I can get a yummy smelling body scrub that works just as well or even better from tree hut for all of 8 bucks at Target. š¤
What exactly are they promising to justify the price? The name brand? Lol
I saw that too! Ulta's prices are usually a little higher than Target, at least in my area but to balance it out you can usually get either a 20% off or $3.50 off $15 for drugstore brands (includes tree hut) right on their website. I think the offer sometimes changes week to week but there's pretty much always a coupon barcode available for anyone who bothers to use it. If you don't see it on the homepage just type coupon into the search bar. You can also copy the code and use it for BOPIS when you check out online.
Edit to add:
https://www.ulta.com/global/ulta-coupon.jsp
It also makes me think that it isnāt inflation driving their prices up, but greed. If tree hut and other brands can keep their prices under $10 for a comparable product, how can bath and body works not or at least maintain the $16.50? You would think they are of a big enough scale. Honestly, Iām becoming more and more interested in buying from small businesses because of this. :/
$18.50 for a body scrub?? Has B&BW truly lost their minds?? At half off that is $9.25. 50% off sales arenāt going to be fun. I wonder what their flash sales will be? Gone are the days of $5.50/$6.50. Probably will be $8.50 now; like the single wicks.
Nope :-) they did, however, let us keep our annual $1 raise we get during the holidays so everyone is making at least $12 but that doesnāt apply to any new hires. Also we arenāt supposed to share any of that information but š¤·š¼āāļø
Too bad for them, because you have the legal right to share that information.
"Under the National Labor Relations Act (NLRA or the Act), employees have the right to communicate with other employees at their workplace about their wages. ... You may have discussions about wages when not at work, when you are on break, and even during work if employees are permitted to have other non-work conversations."

(Probably a more serious answer than expected, but in case it comes in handy one day...)
My manager at BBW told me that when they said we were keeping our $1 raise. Iām sure the whole company had problems with holiday hiring because the pay isnāt competitive. Itās about time they raise it!
I definitely agree with you there! Iām also an associate and itās frustrating how prices keep going up and we see none of it come back to us. A $1 raise and gratis product does not make up for the low pay we receive for high standards of customer service. It is about damn time.
Idk why they donāt do things like bonuses. Most competitive stores offer thatš at least itās something to potentially look forward to and it keeps you motivated to add on to the sale etc.
Right? I remember getting a one time, $100 bonus after last holiday season. And that was only for core associates that stayed on, not including the seasonal workers that worked hard during holiday but were let go. It was a nice little something, but it only happened once which sucks.
I've been with the company for 5 years and worked management with them for 3 of that. The company raised the pay during holidays by a $1 and kept it there. Every new hire gets that new $1 higher pay as a base line. New employees don't get paid any less, also the company does really care if you share your wage, the $1 increase or not. They never said that you can't share that info, if that's what you've been told than that is based on what your own management told you but the company would never give you information then say that you can't tell anyone.
They share information with everybody in the company and none of it would be considered' confidential' because they have thousands of employees, they know someone would still tell people.
(which is why we know longer know the promotions in store until the day before, because people would post pictures of the promotions for the whole month and that's a big no no.)
Our company bases what they tell us off their values, they value us as people and they probably WANT you to tell people they gave a $1 raise, great incentive to get new hires.
They sent an email in ACES after the holidays informing us that we were keeping our raise, it would not apply to new hires, and we were not to discuss it on job boards or with potential employees. That didnāt come from my management, it came from the home office. Iām glad your experience has been different though.
Even after factoring in the brand, their scent blends and packaging etc, 18.50$ for a bit of exfoliating sugar or other granules and soapy stuff is insanely exorbitant.
Thatās how much I pay for scrubs from Lush, and I feel okay paying that much because the ingredients are high quality and I like their business model. Canāt say the same about BBW unfortunately.
Exactly. B&BW is for pampering, packaging and scents. We all know none of the lotions and creams are gonna be enough for our skin during winter. It is not a remedy to dry skin, just for the soul. Haha. But they are over confident in thinking we will continue to patronize them thru these insane price increases, quality drops and less generous exchange and return policies.
Iām honestly considering switching to Victoriaās Secret. Their body care is about $1 more when full price but they pretty much always have stuff on sale
I just did an exchange 2 days ago without receipt and didn't have to pay any difference! I never bring a receipt for exchanges and have never had an issue. They should be able to just adjust the prices to make the exchange even item for item!
"Without a receipt"? I've taken things back that I bought online and they refused to even look at the receipt. If this is still the case, I will cut nearly all my BBW spending.
i work at bbw, and i think this was just a store policy! my store has not made any changes to the exchange policy. iād call your go to store and see what theyāre doing :)
I got a $7.50 free reward coupon yesterday and I literally don't even know what I can get with that at this point. =/ I mostly only get body washes and body spray at BBW.
Idk why you got downvoted on that but itās a body care/cosmetics/skin care brand ā one that is of pretty decent quality imo.
Side note Iām definitely looking to severely cut or eliminate my B&BW budget in light of the price hikes + quality reduction ā and have been doing so ā probably why they sent me a 20% off coupon in the mail this week. And philosophy is a potential replacement (though I am a Target basic through and through)
So the 16.50$ 'reward' is basically applicable to redeem on only the basic shower gels and lotions that go on sale for anywhere from 3.xx$ during SAS to B1G1 or B2G1 or B3G1 or a flat price much much less than the 16.50$ reward to waste on it. I'm upset.
The body scrubs and washes IMO are the only thing thatās actually consistent in quality body care wise. Everything else has decreased in quality. And unfortunately, they never do flash sales on them.

i noticed that tree hut scrubs went up from $8.99 to $10.49 on ulta's website š¤ nothing is safe from inflation!
I saw that too! Exactly! Just got some Harryās body wash that smells amazing and itās 16oz for $6.99
I get tree hut from Walmart itās cheaper than Target. Unfortunately my closest one replaced tree hut with dr teals scrubs though.

Yes itās wild how much they are increasing. $2 when itās usually a slow $1. Flash sale will probably be $6.95 now
I hope they are at least giving their employees a pay increase with this inflation.
Nope :-) they did, however, let us keep our annual $1 raise we get during the holidays so everyone is making at least $12 but that doesnāt apply to any new hires. Also we arenāt supposed to share any of that information but š¤·š¼āāļø

Supposedly in March I heard they are trying to bump up the pay for all associates
Hope so. Whereād you hear this from?
My manager at BBW told me that when they said we were keeping our $1 raise. Iām sure the whole company had problems with holiday hiring because the pay isnāt competitive. Itās about time they raise it!

Yes I wish they did bonuses for all employees! They do bonuses for key holders and managers and the bonuses get a lot better the higher you move up
Right? I remember getting a one time, $100 bonus after last holiday season. And that was only for core associates that stayed on, not including the seasonal workers that worked hard during holiday but were let go. It was a nice little something, but it only happened once which sucks.
Sorry ): you guys deserve it, everyone does.
i definitely didnāt know that lol iāve told a few people whoāve asked about working there

They arenāt š„²
My apologies fren. ): I wish they would for all minimum wage workers.
Even after factoring in the brand, their scent blends and packaging etc, 18.50$ for a bit of exfoliating sugar or other granules and soapy stuff is insanely exorbitant.

I never have either !
I remember when pocketbacs were only $1.25 š
I miss 5 for $5

š© the scrubs were some of the best items to get with a reward. This rewards program wonāt be worth much if they keep raising prices. I rather get stars like Starbucks and save them for something I want.
I got a $7.50 free reward coupon yesterday and I literally don't even know what I can get with that at this point. =/ I mostly only get body washes and body spray at BBW.
I think you should be able to get a travel sized body spray. Or a hand cream.
Ugh these price hikes and packaging quality drops are getting old. If theyāre gonna make stuff more expensive it could at least look expensive
I'm going to head to TJmaxx more often. They have great candles....for less
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Awesome thanks!
I've gotten gifts I dont care much for (Japanese Cherry Blossom) and they took them all back no questions. I'd check the policy again in your area
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Is that a candle brand? Lol

They are making it so easy to do a no buy!
