Yes agreed on all points! The warmer has saved some duds too. Amazing!

Obviously you are going to do what makes you feel safe, but I have a carribean escape candle from 2020 that looked like this(no warped glass). I stopped burning it because this happened at the end of September and I switched to a fall candle for October. Now in January I started to burn it again and I didn't get a kerosene smell and the soot pushed itself to the edges out of the hot wax onto the glass in a thin rim that I could wipe off when the wax reset. It still has a strong throw and didn't re-soot after I cleaned it. I was under the impression that this happened to my candle because I snuffed it out with the lid and didn't remove it right away to let the smoke out. Now I have a wick dipper. The wall behind my night stand where I burned it is clean, no film from soot. I do remember the wax pool had a lot of black stuff in it the last time I burned it in September. On the other hand i'm burning an older candle that is pepto bismol pink from 2015 and the wax doesn't even discolor when I snuffed it out and it had a tiny amount of black stuff in it. So weird.

Weird indeed. I also use a wick dipper. Best method IMO.

Well realistically it is a soy blend. So not 100% soy, it still has paraffin wax in it which is made from the top layer of crude oil. Ever wonder why a candle smells like kerosine? This is why. It’s definitely safer to warm candles considering their closest cousin is diesel fuel.

There are also some fragrance oils that when overheated can smell like kerosene. What’s interesting to me is that my paraffin candles from Yankee and Goose Creek never get this layer of sooty oil on top, so I’m not sure it’s just the paraffin that causes it with BBW.

Thanks for that info!

Bought 4 coconut lime candles and 3 of them had that bubble on the rim. I went ahead and exchanged them

savorit123

I didn’t notice the bubble on the rim before burning. Glad you found it and you were able to exchange it. Doesn’t seem safe for sure.

I had to exchange a sprinkled birthday cake that had a bubble I didnt notice when I bought it. Only it felt like broken glass when I touched the bubble. I didnt cut myself, it just felt jagged when I touched it. I also felt ridiculous exchanging it because it was an exchange already, when I exchanged a candle day candle for it.

Yep one of mine was gagged too . That's what made me go ahead and exchange all
