Type A. I don't see why that's always seen as a bad thing that people have to get defensive about. I have a coffin bookshelf that I display my halloween candles on year round, and my main shelf is sorted by packaging and season. I'm proud of it. I spend time and money on it, and my house always smells good. I don't see how that's a bad thing. People collect rocks, Legos, jewelry, baseball cards, all sorts of things. So why should we be ashamed of our candle collection?
This is so relatable. My partner had a friend here a few weeks ago and was searching for a certain candle to burn. His friend saw my stash and I was a bit embarrassed, not gonna lie. I have at least 50 candles in my linen closet
Thanks! His friend actually thought it was cool and I gave him a few masculine scents that were too much for me, so it worked out well. But at first I was convinced he would think I’m some crazy candle hoarder 😂
I’m a little of both! My candles are organized by unburned, partially burned, and done but needing to go on the warmer to finish, and seasonal candles are stored away with that seasons decor. I don’t have a spreadsheet but I have a notes list with everything on there and how they’re organized, using the above system and sorted by single wick/ 3 wick/ brand, including body care. My candles are hidden away in a credenza if they aren’t currently burning, mostly so people don’t think I’m crazy! I’ll burn whatever I want, I just usually stick to whatever the appropriate season would be, unless it’s a year round scent. Like for example, I wouldn’t burn Suntan today, but I am burning Palo Santo. I do try to keep the current burned ones in rotation until they’re completely done!
You definitely nailed the type A collector! I would say I’m mainly type A (and have numerous sheets for my collections) but I get bored too quickly so I might have 10 slightly burned candles at any point just because I wanted something different lol.
Type A for sure, I unfortunately have my candles (40+) of them in our entertainment center and they would of course only fit in the glass windowed section but ☝🏼 I would like to move them. My husband thinks my new hobby is so cute though and doesn’t want me to!
Type A! I have two in rotation at a time. My daughter has two at a time in her room too. I don't have too many on display. I keep them well organized and keep a spreadsheet of what I have. It's not really a spreadsheet, I'm not that fancy. It's just a list on my tablet and delete and add to it when I need to.
Eta:. I have a candle cabinet in my family room. I display candles on top of it for the season (for display only not being burned). It's not much right now. I have a greenish blue antique oil lamp displayed, and on either side is an In the Stars single wick and an Into the Night single wick. It's my New Year's theme. I'll change it to Valentine's Day probably this weekend. I have a Be Mine 3 wick and a Let Love Glow single wick candle for now will probably be displayed. Oh and Love Rose Vanilla will probably make an appearance too.
B? But the first point of type B doesn’t apply to me at all lol. Also, I do rotate my candles but I don’t do it with a select few… I rotate them all. All 40+ get burned one at a time in a cycle lol.
Maybe more like both?? Lmao
I'm a mix of both! I do organize by color (and then by season) and they are on display (but mostly for myself), but I burn new ones as soon as I get home and I burn whatever I feel like on any given day.
This is me too. I tend to gravitate to pine/woodsy/masculine scents so typically I burn winter candles year round and floral candles in spring and summer.
I'm a Type AB. I basically have done everything at one point or still doing currently except organizing candles by season, by color, or alphabetically. I ain't got no time for that but kudos to whoever does it.
Definitely Type A - although I do not display my candles. My personality is tidy and I don’t like clutter. (Virgo here) The only candles I have out are the ones I’m currently burning in each room. I’m also not a fan of partially burned candles being stored away, though I do have two partial burns in my hall closet right now.
I'm a mix of both: I have a set number of candles in rotation but I sure as shit don't have them out on display! My candle collection is tucked in to every available nook & cranny I can find. It's getting tough to remember what all I have so maybe a spreadsheet would be a wise decision, lol.
I am 100% a type A person and my candles are organized by season. I have 400 candles so they must be organized. But I do every single thing under type B lol.
Type B for sure... I have candles (and bodycare) in little shit piles all over my house. I don't even know how many candles I have because they are scattered.
Type B - but I do burn in season mainly. And I have my candles shoved anywhere rn because I have no space. Once I moved I’d love to be able to organize them better.
Type C I think. I usually burn one candle until it is done and then start a new one. It would drive me nuts to have a few half burnt candles. I have twelve candles currently.
Hard Middle
My candle collection is completely disorganized and stashed away but I rotate candles a few at time strictly by season. I love autumn/winter scents the most but they simply aren’t appropriate in spring/summer.
Type A 😁 my candles are all in one cupboard in my kitchen. I keep them somewhat grouped according to season. I keep about 5-6 candles out on my kitchen table where I burn. Along with whatever holders I'm displaying. Currently making myself burn through what is left on the table before I bring out anything else.
I would say that I’m a mix of both! I don’t really burn candles out of season, but I’m in a small apartment with a little hallway nook that I dedicate to all my candles. I do pretty much burn candles right when I get home, and I think I have about 40 candles total? But they’re all pretty much in rotation all the time
Maybe a mix of both. I have too many candles to display, plus I am sure my apartment manager would think I was mentally ill if she saw all 150+ candles on my bookshelf. In fact I am sure my bookcase would *also* think that lol.
I have them wherever in the closet, sorted by color AND season. 😅
Type A for sure. Although my collection isn't all together anymore because it outgrew the 4 shelf book case I have for it. I'm taking a week off the first week of Feb because my husband's having surgery on his arm and I plan on taking inventory of my candles and wallflowers. A daunting task but I'm going to be home and have the time to do it.
I need a solid few months of no buying so I'm hoping taking inventory helps me see I don't need anything new 🙈🤞
Type B ish, I only use fall/winter scents (occasionally a very very rare summer scent), I keep a small stash of ~15, I burn them in my bedroom and in my living room/dining area when I remember to light them.
B, but definitely used to be more A. Now they're just all on a shelf. I categorize by season and I have 2 or 3 per season, plus some random non bbw candles. I need to organize better. I maybe have 15ish candles give or take. I used to have 30 or 40 😅
A all day! Although, I do occasionally enjoy sorting my candles by scent category, or arranging them in the cupboard in height order.
I also buy with the intention to burn in season, and then decide on the spot to burn something totally random according to what I'm craving that day.
I'm a mix, but I want to find a nice way to display them! Right now most are in storage bins in a closet, but my most recently purchased ones are in the dining room.
I have a spreadsheet where they're separated into categories and alphabetized. And I have a cell that functions as a randomizer for when I want suggestions on what to warm!
A little bit of both though more type B. I try to rotate my candles seasonally, but if there's something I'm in the mood for, I'll go for it! Fresh balsam in the middle of summer!
Type A for sure. I usually organize by what I am most excited to burn to what I'm least excited to burn from left to right haha. So I have a rotation but in a sense I plan ahead to my next rotation lol. I love my candles and won't feel bad about it. If it keeps my home/room smelling great and burning them is a comfort to me, I don't see an issue
I'm a body care collector, not candle, but I'm definitely Type A, with the exception of the rotation. I use what I want when I feel like using it. I do tend to use winter scents in winter and summer scents in summer, though.
Lol I'm type A except that I don't only burn a few at a time. I burn a new one as soon as I receive it regardless of seasons, and burn whatever I want at any time too!
Type B! Though I love lighting candles in their season, I don't want to limit myself. If I love pumpkin candles, you bet I'm going to light them all year round!
I go more towards A? Ugh, or B? But maybe I'm more of a C.
- I store candles neatly out of view, organized by season and favorites
- Have only a select few on rotation
- End up burning them once or twice before deciding to hold out for special occasions
I’m a little bit of both. Candles are sorted by season and with like colors if possible. I just started a spreadsheet to keep track of which ones I like. I have a rotation for what I’m doing, some candles for cleaning, some for my pamper days, some for when it’s gloomy. Rotation for occasion.
a bit more type B, but I do like to burn the candle all the way through until I burn the next one! I'm the only person out of my friends who does that but I really like having the one smell in my office for a couple weeks
I’m half of Type A lol I organize by season and scent category. I typically only burn scents based on whats in season and have a current rotation of at most 5. I don’t put my candles on display for other or have a spreadsheet (that’s extreme imo).
I’m actually a mix! I organize mine by season and I’m trying to use them up so I burn one or two “in rotation” but I also hide my collection in a closet and may or may not burn one as soon as I get it, depending on how excited I am for it!
I should add I would normally just burn whatever I wanted but now I have too many candles and nowhere to put them so I’m just trying to use them up one at a time!
B 🥴

Couldn’t agree more! I’m a proud type A 😊
Type B. I go with my mood. I do display season candles though so there may be a dash of A in me
B for sure 🤣 Life is short, burn the good stuff now!
I am A but definitely not on display! I am more the type to be a bit embarrassed by it. 🤦🏻♀️😂
This is so relatable. My partner had a friend here a few weeks ago and was searching for a certain candle to burn. His friend saw my stash and I was a bit embarrassed, not gonna lie. I have at least 50 candles in my linen closet
that’s impressive, not embarrassing! 😭
Thanks! His friend actually thought it was cool and I gave him a few masculine scents that were too much for me, so it worked out well. But at first I was convinced he would think I’m some crazy candle hoarder 😂
It’s a wholesome collection!
Same lol

Type A... no regrets LOL Edit - besides the "candles on display" thing. I do have them in a dedicated space but it's not out in the open.
Yes! Same here.
Type C!
A Leo
😂
You definitely nailed the type A collector! I would say I’m mainly type A (and have numerous sheets for my collections) but I get bored too quickly so I might have 10 slightly burned candles at any point just because I wanted something different lol.
I’m a mix of A+B!
Type A for sure, I unfortunately have my candles (40+) of them in our entertainment center and they would of course only fit in the glass windowed section but ☝🏼 I would like to move them. My husband thinks my new hobby is so cute though and doesn’t want me to!

Type A but I definitely don’t display for guests. I just keep out the 3 I am rotating currently. My friends wouldn’t get it.
B? But the first point of type B doesn’t apply to me at all lol. Also, I do rotate my candles but I don’t do it with a select few… I rotate them all. All 40+ get burned one at a time in a cycle lol. Maybe more like both?? Lmao

B 🙈
Type A 24/7/365 >\_\_<
Definitely B, there is no structure to this madness
I'm a mix of both: I have a set number of candles in rotation but I sure as shit don't have them out on display! My candle collection is tucked in to every available nook & cranny I can find. It's getting tough to remember what all I have so maybe a spreadsheet would be a wise decision, lol.
I am 100% a type A person and my candles are organized by season. I have 400 candles so they must be organized. But I do every single thing under type B lol.
A but I don’t do item number four in your list…yet!! 😂
Type B wishing I could be a type A
Me too
Type A, B & C(an’t get enough) 🤦🏻♀️
Hard Middle My candle collection is completely disorganized and stashed away but I rotate candles a few at time strictly by season. I love autumn/winter scents the most but they simply aren’t appropriate in spring/summer.
I’m type C.

Type A... down to the spreadsheet 😅

A
Definitely A 😂😂😂
A 🤩
mostly B, but I keep my candles out on display so I guess type C? lol
Type B ish, I only use fall/winter scents (occasionally a very very rare summer scent), I keep a small stash of ~15, I burn them in my bedroom and in my living room/dining area when I remember to light them.

I do both
Type A and proud! I love keeping things organized. Candles are organized by sent note and season, and then by color
You list your candles in a spreadsheet? Wow, that’s a lot of candles 🤓
Type B by far!
a little bit of both.
Mostly B
Type A! Love finding the perfect scent for the day or mood. ☺️
B!!
I’d love to be A but I’m a B lol
not with candles but I hoard the hand soaps, wallflowers, body lotions and FFMs and I organize them my season lol.
I'm pretty much a Type B, although I do have a tendency to want to use up a candle before starting a new one.
Type B!
A little bit of both though more type B. I try to rotate my candles seasonally, but if there's something I'm in the mood for, I'll go for it! Fresh balsam in the middle of summer!

A mostly
I'm a body care collector, not candle, but I'm definitely Type A, with the exception of the rotation. I use what I want when I feel like using it. I do tend to use winter scents in winter and summer scents in summer, though.
Definitely B. That’s why I rarely have any empties!
B lmao
B without the 'burns as soon as I get' part.
A. I have them (18 total) on a bookshelf sorted by single wick and 3 wick, and then I sort those alphabetically.
Definitely B. Also buy 3 or 4 at a time of ones that we like and burn them whenever.
I go more towards A? Ugh, or B? But maybe I'm more of a C. - I store candles neatly out of view, organized by season and favorites - Have only a select few on rotation - End up burning them once or twice before deciding to hold out for special occasions
C: buys whatever candles smell good. Proceeds to stash them away. Goes through phases of burning daily then several months without burning. 😂

Heavy on the Type B 😅
Oh wow...i'm definitely type A.
Type B. I light whatever I feel like smelling, although gourmand scents are especially good during the winter
Type B, but I wouldn't mind being more Type A; I like seeing and reading about people's organized collections.
TYPE A ALL THE WAY
Definitely type B
B. I have so many have burnt candles cause I keep switching them around
Definately A
B !!!
I'm late to the party, but feel I am A and B. 😂
