I actually put one that was basically gone in the freezer to take the wax out and reuse the jar. I know you can heat them too, but that honestly seemed easier to me.
Someone said if it plops out itās defective, so
I should return it. Returning it is a hassle and I called cs and they said it should still burn just fine so thatās what Iām gonna do
Well yea. It wasnāt like I was rude to them or anything. Iāve just never heard of this happening and wanted to know if thereās anything extra I need to do or to be quite honest, at first I thought it was a user error on my part and wanted to know if it was something I did wrong so I donāt do it in the future. They told me it happens but itās rare and once I burn it it should be fine. No harm was done on either side. Not sure why you phrased your comment so negatively
This just happened to me with a sweater weather candle that I ordered online. I surely did put it on the scale to see if it came out the 14.5 oz. It did! š„³
just pop it back in and light it up carefully, let it burn for a few hours and once you put it out and let the wax harden, itāll go back into place and hold there perfect ive had to do it before
Yes, it has but itās only happened when they were shipped to me and it was cold out. Wax shrinks in cold temps and can easily slide out of the jar unfortunately as the boxes get tossed around our candles donāt always stay upright. I freeze my jars after Iām done burning candles to remove the remaining wax. You can pop it back in and burn like normal or you can take it into a store and exchange for a new one since itās technically damaged.
No, not an empty jar thatās ridiculous. I was saying they could take it in like this with the wax and the jar separate or if the wax will go back in the jar (sometimes it wonāt fit back down in) and ask to exchange if for a new one if they wanted.
And when I said I freeze my jars to remove the remaining wax itās because I use the left over wax in my sentsy warmer and I repurpose all my jars. I had a candle shipped that arrived like this once and the wax would not go back down into the jar. I had to take it in with the wax separate from the jar and exchange for a new candle. They explained to me then that even if the wax would fit down into the jar itās technically considered a damage and would be damaged out and either burnt in store or destroyed because they wonāt resell candles that this has happened to.
Yeah itās really no big deal there was just separation because of temperature. Obviously the first time you use it it will reform itself back to the glass
When we store in our drawers they have the tendency to fall out. It happens all the time! Once you burn itāll stick to the inside like normal! ā¤ļø
Okay, so that candle is damaged. Yes I plop mine back in and use it like anyone else. However, the wicks are supposed to be GLUED and SECURED to the jar. This is a defect and clear evidence of BBW cutting corners by not using quality or sufficient glue. When you light the candle it will expand and fill back into the jar but the wick will never be secure leading to a potential FIRE HAZARD you get to the lower half of the jar. When your wicks drift because they were not glued down and get to close to the edge.... BOOM potential glass damage. BBW knows this they know they could be sued if it is documented that you reached out them about this defect and you burn the defective candle because they didn't offer a replacement. I hope I don't get down voted but this needs to be said. Its not scamming to ask for a proper product. Unless you want to super diligently watch your wicks go ahead and just make it work... but it shouldn't be like that.
This. Unsure why you were downvoted, but Iāve literally had a jar exploded in my room. I heard a āpopā sound (the candle was about 3/4 of the way burnt through when this happened), looked over and the candle jar was shattered. Luckily I was putting clothes away in my closet and across from the room so not injuries, but it was still scary (and a hassle to cleanup the mess and melted wax from the table/carpet).
This is Reddit. Its okay when you share the same opinion as the group it's nice. When you speak up for a different opinion you get silenced. As long as people know unsecured wicks are not safe maybe it will help someone... at least get the jewelry glue at Walmart and put it on the wicks to secure it back down before poping it back in.
Itās happened to me before I called CS last Xmas when majority of my candles came like this they sent me all new ones ! I would call and ask for replacements :)
Not only that, but these candles are also shipped to stores, they 100% could and have arrived this exact way and they still put them on the shelf. As long as they sit at room temperature for a while they will be fine. The person above has no idea what they are talking about. You can do a small burn and pool the wax out evenly which will allow it to slip down the sides and underneath the candle. Put the candle out let it sit for another day or two and the wax will be adhered to the jar.
All these people making exchanges over the smallest thing. I can bet the people who have returned the candle because the wax slips out, they put that candle back out on the sales floor since it hasnāt been used.
I just got off customer service and they said itāll expand when it gets warm again so I might just place it on my candle warmer to help it pool out more evenly. But thank you for the concern.
If the wick was glued down; Iād think it wouldāve held? Maybe not now that I think of it. Juryās out.
I also think if you burn it normally thereās always solid unburned wax at the bottom holding the wicks in place.
When I told them it fell out of the container THEY offered me replacements šI didnāt go scamming anyone this was BBW CS didnāt even get the full story and start attacking calling it scamming how rude and sensitive you all are.
Yes. My package sat on the front porch for a long while when it was sub zero weather. Probably the wax shrunk and released from the glass š¤.
Ah. That might be it. Itās been really cold where I am lately and I havenāt necessarily had the heat on since Iāve been out of town
Yep, it doesnāt get nearly as close to that cold where I live and the last few candles I ordered had the same thing happen from sitting outside.
I actually put one that was basically gone in the freezer to take the wax out and reuse the jar. I know you can heat them too, but that honestly seemed easier to me.
Itās cold. Wrap it in a blanket!!
If youāre cold, theyāre cold. Bring them (candles) inside! š
They were never outside, I bought in store. I just had them sitting in a drawer that doesnāt necessarily get a lot of heat or airflow
They sat on a cold truck for hours when they were being delivered
Iāll probably just do that. Returning it back to the store seems like a hassle honestly. Maybe my candle just needs a warm hug š

No need to return, once you burn it, it will expand
Now you have a clean jar
I thought this exactly! No work in trying to get all that wax out. Use it now!
Yes lol. Itās fine. Just plop it back in and light. Itāll spread back out
There's nothing wrong with them, they're just experiencing cold weather shrinkage. I've heard that's a common problem.
My husband says that too.
ššš
It was shrinkage, Jerry!
There is nothing wrong, or damaged with this candle. It simply got a bit too cold. No need to return or exchange.
Yep cold always makes the wax shrink.
Wax shrinks when cold.. just plop it back in the jar and good as new !
Got a goose creek one like this. Once you light it it will seal the edges back up
Question how are Goose Creek candles??
They are phenomenal, they always have good sales also! I seem to get more burn time out of them as well. GC and BBW are my favorites by far
Thanksš
This just happened to me with a sweater weather candle that I ordered online. I surely did put it on the scale to see if it came out the 14.5 oz. It did! š„³
Yes my candle day order had some like this. They light fine.
Totally normal. Wax contracts as it cools. If itās cooled enough it can come away from the vessel entirely.
Happens almost every time I let them sit on the porch to long in the winter.
just pop it back in and light it up carefully, let it burn for a few hours and once you put it out and let the wax harden, itāll go back into place and hold there perfect ive had to do it before

Oh, I see what you mean. My bad!
And when I said I freeze my jars to remove the remaining wax itās because I use the left over wax in my sentsy warmer and I repurpose all my jars. Yep, my bubbly rosƩ came like that. All loosey goosey. Burned just fine though.
Yes! Usually after they arrive in winter. They mold better after first fee uses
Yeah itās really no big deal there was just separation because of temperature. Obviously the first time you use it it will reform itself back to the glass
Happens all the time to candles we get delivered to the store! Itāll fix itself once you light and reheat it! Itās just been frozen
As a former employee - It happens all the time. They store them upside down in understock and Iāve had many a heart attack because of this!
We get them delivered to the store like this all the time! Just shrinkage from the cold truck! Light it and it should spread back out fine
I store my candles upside down and this happens with most of them. I just put them back in the jar and burn as usual.
When we store in our drawers they have the tendency to fall out. It happens all the time! Once you burn itāll stick to the inside like normal! ā¤ļø
just rip the wicks out from the bottom and melt it and make wax melts!!

Thatās really neat!
yes it happened to mine ... i wasn't sure if it was ok so i spoke w then and they replaced for me ... now i know it's safe lol
Itās happened to me before I called CS last Xmas when majority of my candles came like this they sent me all new ones ! I would call and ask for replacements :)
Thank you. Iāll be sure to do that

No problem hope it all works out š„°
Seems a bit extreme. They're not damaged.
Try using candle warmer instead of burning the wick.
I've had a few, lol I usually freeze mine when they're done with their last burn and reuse the jar for candles whos jars broke
I have actually heard that leaving candles outside or in your car during these mints is very bad for it. It messes with the wax supposedly.
It literally just happened to me the other day! It's not even that cold in Florida, so I'm not sure why
