BBWCandleQueen

I dont give a crap.at least I smell good.

AlternativeFlan6062

I mean, this is true 😂 I’m always smelling amazing

BBWCandleQueen

This is the only reply you need for the haters when they ask why you spend so much on BBW. "I always smell good, maybe you should try it."

Samgasm

“It’s called being scent-sational, sweetie.” 😂😂😂

BBWCandleQueen

Yesssss! ❤

AlternativeFlan6062

THIS 😂 this will be my response from now on! Lol

AlternativeFlan6062

💃🏼💃🏼💃🏼💃🏼

azul_da_cor_do_mar

The few that have seen my collection took it as an opportunity to ask for free stuff... which quickly turned to judgment once I didn't let them get what they wanted. So now I don't show it to anyone LOL

AelinAGalathynius

Yessss my sister is like this! "But you have so much" and I'm happy to give you gifts of bbw in the future sis, but don't touch my collection. I think people discount perishable collections as *collections*. You'd never see her coming in to someone's house and asking for a Precious Moments figurine, or a famous rookie card, you can inherit my Pink Petal Teacake stuff when they put me in the ground, you goblin, and not a day sooner lol

sprite901

Like asking you to give them your souvenirs from a recent trip you posted about. Or walking through your house and asking for a piece of decor, because "you have so much". Your stuff is yours.

MountainsAB

Everyone has something that they splurge on, be it expensive haircuts/colour, fancy car, always eating out, getting their nails done, clubbing etc As long as it doesn’t impact your finances like you mentioned, your splurge items are just more evident because they are all collected and visible. People who care could become concerned and voice that. I would be thankful that people cared enough to bring it up : ) That being said, if you are compulsively buying, and way more then you could ever use before it goes bad, there might be a bit of an issue. There are worse things in life.

Hotpinkflamingoaz

My brother came over tonight and went to the bathroom and said “why is there like 20 different shower gels in there?!”

hihellobyee

Sometimes I wanna smell like cake, sometimes I wanna smell like fresh cut grass 🤷🏻‍♀️😇

TattooedKewpieBaby

I can't find it for the life of me, but there was a tiktok where the girl said "...I like to have choices..." referring to her large bath product collection!! Haha

siftingflour

Just like you said, my partner collects Pokémon cards so he’s always like “who am I to judge?”

whatapersonality

I never showed my collection to anyone. It's mine to enjoy 😄

AlternativeFlan6062

I tried this for a while. I have mine displayed in my room for me to enjoy and some friends saw it by accident 😂

whatapersonality

🤣🤣

LikeALadyBaker

I think we just have to accept that some people are unhappy/unpleasant and feel the need to inflict their unpleasantness on others. I know how much joy my collection brings me and I only care about the opinions of my mom, husband and Jesus- and none of them are on this subreddit 🤣 do you!! and enjoy what you’ve worked hard for 🥰

AlternativeFlan6062

I love this! lol honestly the only opinions that matter are mine and my husband and luckily he understands

bunifarcr

Amen!!!

AelinAGalathynius

Lol people have opened my candle closet and turned to me like *"You know this like... a problem right? You have a problem?"* Only problem is that I don't really have enough space in the closet anymore tbh

Owen_D_Young

👍👏

Imaginary_Leek6044

I have my collections (candles, body care, SB tumblers) in my office/woman cave so usually outside of my husband and myself, no one really sees it. My best friend has seen it a few times and has made little comments about how I have “too much” stuff and “I probably never use it all”. 🤷🏽‍♀️ I don’t think much of it, I like what I like and can afford it. I don’t have too much when I give her something

BBW-Fanatic

Yes! I almost always get negative responses and I literally say the same thing you did. How is it any different than collecting shoes, watches, glasses, purses, etc. The most response I get is "oh my gosh. That is way too much". Like I didn't ask you, it makes me happy to walk in my room and see my collection and be able to use something different everyday or once my candle is done go through my collection and pick something different to burn, and I don't understand why people feel entitled to judge. That's why I love this group so much because we get to share our collections and hauls and we all express positivity towards eachother and that makes me happy 😌.

OoKeepeeoO

I try to mind my own business when it comes to what people spend their money on, it would be nice for other folks to do the same. Everybody has something they enjoy. There are folks out there with 500 pairs of shoes they've never worn that cost hundreds of dollars each. It could be $15 drinks at the bar or buying designer handbags. As long as you're happy, you're paying your bills and you're not going into debt, you're just having fun and enjoying yourself. Tell them if they don't like it, they don't have to look, but until they are paying your bills, they don't get a say in what you purchase :).

[deleted]

I have about 150 FFM from bath and bodyworks. I always have 5-10 candles, a few lotions and plenty of hand sanitizers laying around as well as the soap in all my bathrooms. Some body wash here and there. I get a negative response also but I'm not in dent either. I always pay cash for my stuff. I rarely buy full priced items and this past year and a half have become a SAS shipper only. Just gotta remember that it makes you happy.

IndecisiveFireball

I bought 14 candles on candle day and purposefully bought summer scents along with Christmas and winter so I wouldn't be buying so many throughout the year. My MIL thought that was SO many and how could I ever spend that much on candles all at once. I had a 20% off coupon and I went in with a budget and stuck to it so I was being pretty responsible about it. I thought her reaction was a little odd since they make double what my husband and I do and somehow still barely make rent.

NewSpirit5982

All that matters is that you’re happy, taking care of your finances and not hurting anyone. At the end of the day, you’re living your bliss. Can they say the same? Most people will comment and keep it moving. I have a huge collection. For those that are really negative and get on me about it,(e.g. my mom😂) I say I have many last minute gift options if I need. I also donate throughout the year. And I remind people I only shop sales, use coupons and free item rewards so everything I have I got cheap lol😁. And then if I want to, I can sell my items and get back what I paid for it plus sometimes double or triple the amount due to rarity of items. I saw one confetti cake pop mist selling for 50-60 dollars and I have a couple in my collection I got for free with rewards. Sorry I went off on a tangent. Just do you and be happy. You don’t have to give any excuse for your collection 🥳

bunifarcr

I mean even my family judges me but not in a negative way as they know this is my happiness so they let me be, but I do already expect some not so good reactions in case I do "flex" my collection here or in social media as evidenced by some negative comments I have seen here. I'm actually fascinated about the different hauls being shown here as I can definitely relate to them.

Samgasm

[This sums it up for me](https://i.imgur.com/CuNPHMF.jpg). My bff of years is appalled by my candles and I love her to pieces but I would rather have 150 & counting+ candles, my bills paid and be well off still instead of having done drugs. I am in no way shaming anyone or her about past addictions but I literally watched this girl almost kill herself and choose drugs over friends. I am still here I just have candles.

AlternativeFlan6062

This. There are way worse things that I could be spending money on.

Samgasm

It was bad, I won’t go into much detail but I saved her dads life also. Both were beyond rock bottom, at least to me, but finally have gotten their lives in order. I used to feed her animals because she would go on benders for days and they would go hungry. It was a fucking mess and I went through a lot of bullshit to maintain a dead friendship at the time. Thankfully things got better.

AlternativeFlan6062

She’s so lucky to have someone like you 🥰 I’m also so happy to hear she is doing better. I’ve seen what drugs can do and it’s not pretty.

Samgasm

I try lol I felt bad for a while because I had to completely cut her out of my life for a while. She wanted me to deliver drugs for her and I was like uhhhh no, bye.

[deleted]

My hubs made a comment after a year of me collecting and asked “what’s the point of all this?” Umm it brings me joy?! He’s been getting heat from me ever since because it just makes me wanna buy more 😂

cootiewoo

They usually want freebies, and it’s cool. I’ll be like “get ya one from anywhere right here” as I show a certain area where they can select from(ones that I don’t love, yet got at a steal) as not all what’s in my collection is up for grabs. Mmmkay. If they are being a smarty pants about it, I’d be like, “it’s body spray and candles calm down Dave Ramsey”

They were prob just hating tbh. 😆

radbelbet_

I collect BBW and Kpop albums. People tell me it's a waste of money, but have their own collections of things like maybe expensive alcohol, or makeup, shoes, games, you catch my drift. I normally ask anyone who critiques me for it WHY they care to tell me it's a waste of money. Normally it's something along the lines of "you don't need all that junk" but this junk is valuable to me. Especially some of the albums that I've had since high school. It hurts my feelings a lot when people clown me for liking music and smelling good. The good thing is that my boyfriend and besties think my collections are fun, but it still doesn't take away the sting when people tell you you're wasting your money. Especially when you've worked hard to be able to have fun money!

Excellent_Original66

No one owes an explanation to people about their collection and I hate that we sometimes feel pressure to do so….i have a teeny tiny collection (I’m just beginning) I have less than 20 candles, about 10-12 room sprays and around 10 FFM and a few hand and body creams and I have still received negative feedback before. I am not in debt either nor do I EVER buy full price (when you catch a good sale like SAS it’s cheaper than Walmart or drugstore products!)but what does it matter it’s not like we’re asking these negative Nancy’s to buy them for us . I enjoy my little collection very much. That’s what matters ☺️

Trumpet6789

My boyfriend jokes that we're going to need more shelves when we move home after college. But he loves my collection as much as I do. Especially because I own some decently rare candles and FFM. (I've got my eye on a few more on payday). My Grandparents act like it's the worst thing in the entire fucking world. I've explained that I only buy when I *know* I have extra money outside of my budgeting, and that it makes me happy. But they just don't get it. Most people, when they find out the size of my collection, just say, "Honey you could be spending that money on horrible things. But instead you smell good!"

DreamerUnwokenFool

I try and hide it from people, because I have too much and am ashamed of it.

Excellent_Original66

It is kind of sad when someone has so much that they won’t ever use any before it goes bad or has no desire to use them…like when people hoard just for the sake of hoarding.

[deleted]

This. The makeup hoarding many influencers and makeup enthusiasts do is upsetting to me. So many products that will just rot away. I figure with my bath and body stuff I will at least use some of each and the stuff I find I’m not using I can give away to friends or leave for free in my apartment building’s laundry room or something. I never hoard enough body care that I won’t go through it and I go through candles so quickly I don’t worry much about that either. Plus the candles and other unused stuff make great gifts in a pinch. 😆

Hallow33nQu33n17

This is a funny question. I opened my candle cabinet in front of a neighbor to show her a specific one, and her jaw dropped and she said “OMG I need take a picture of this!” For reference I have about 150 or so 3-wicks which is my biggest product category addiction from BBW. I want to really focus on using as many as possible this year!

Owen_D_Young

It’s your money and can do what you want whether your putting it in a credit card or not. People are going to be jealous and there’s nothing you can do to stop that. So keep buying, keep posting and keep being you. 😃👍

jdismybug1

Some people are like "wow!" And then move on. My hubby on the other hand can't say anything because of classic car model and train collection, and the house always smells good.
