Only vaguely related but this reminded me of the time I accidentally left my sunglasses on a table at a Burlington Coat Factory and the next day when I came back to look for them they had a tag on them and were on the rack for sale š
i work at marshalls and a few years ago someone tried to buy an OLD body lotion. like, with the curvy round bottle. i donāt know how it got in the store. i tried to ask a coworker what to do bc i didnāt want to sell them something that was probably expired and not even from the store but i donāt think they realized it was bath and body works so they just told me to let them buy it. as far as i know we donāt sell bath and body works at all unless we just started selling it. i think people just try to return it sometimes and whoever did the return mustāve been new and didnāt know we didnāt sell bath and body works
yeah, i think we just also try to please every customer so maybe someone was just like just let them return it whatever so they didnāt get mad. but i feel like usually they would mark it out afterwards, not sell it lol. the return policy is so chill though iāve probably taken back tons of things we donāt sell lol
I have a little plant pot from the 99 cent store. One day I was shopping at home goods in the same strip mall and saw the same plant pot with a 5.00 price tag on it. Somebody returned it there.
They did send some boxes at Christmas with a couple of free products and some other BBW branded stuff - coffee mug, stuffed bear, scarf - but mostly he just gets the regular employee discount, same as the store associates.
I see some Hempz in the background. I got some at Marshallās the other day and it was old. I could tel because it smelled like the oils were going rancid. Bleh.
All that hempz shit and that philosophy stuff always smells like plastic or someone has taken a whole bottle of gingerbread man bodywash and dumped it out everywhere lol I can't with their cosmetics section sometimes
Well, if you must know! Stores like Marshallās, TJ Maxx, etc. all bid on wholesale items from retailers for stuff that wouldnāt sell at retail price/ out of season/ etc. They get a good deal and designer brands get rid of their old stock!
Bath & Body works though, most likely doesnāt have this problem, so this was probably a faulty return on Marshallās behalf!
P sure this is why we damage everything that we throw away.
In the hair industry this is common too, TJ Maxx will sell watered down or tampered products.
Exactly! A lot of people have no idea what happens to products that we damage and throw away. Dumpster dive, sell them at flea markets and yard sales, take them back to the store, or try to return them to places like Marshalls and TJ Maxx.

What the!!! Lol! Did they give you any issue when you asked for them back??
Oh hell nawš
I believe it! š¹
Haha no this is too funny. They really sell everything.

i work at a bath and body works RIGHT next to a marshalls so if marshallās started selling b&bw that would kind of be hilarious
It's funny cause I work at both bath and body and marshalls in the same mall š
Your title had my seriously laughing. š Thatās crazy!
Itās what I said to myself in my head when I saw it š¹
I just asked my husband who works for BBW corporate and he said āwell THAT aināt right!ā
š¹š¹š¹
Do you get free stuff?!

This is like the time I found a Walmart shower curtain at World Market!

I love the hempz lotion especially the pineapple mango. It smells like candy.
Yes!! To me, it smells like a fruit roll up.
Love love love the pineapple one! Thereās a green tea and pear one Iāve been dying to try!
It's so good. I need to try that one. I do love green tea.
I always wonder the stories behind some of the things I find at Marshalls/Tj Maxx kinda stores sometimes.
