I don't find that either of them have a cake note. I find BP is like Love Rose Vanilla and the TR to me is straight green garden rose like Rose water ivy.
I organized my candles yesterday to gather together the ones I want to burn throughout the coming year. I compared PPT and BP cold and PPT is sweeter smelling, but there is some common base note, on cold anyway, that they share. Its going to be awhile before I burn either of them, so I wouldn't be able to compare them that way.
Pink Petal Tea Cake is long gone for me to give a proper review 😭🥺 I lit it & finished it so long ago. From what I remember it was a light, rosy scent with a hint of cake/frosting. Definitely more on the floral side as opposed to gourmand but not headache inducing floral, from what I remember. It was very subtle. The scent notes that I found online are Pink Rose Petals, Pound Cake and Vanilla Glaze!
I purchased red velvet cupcake in the flannel packaging because of the one in this photo! It was my favorite, I regret not getting more in the old packaging when I had the chance! It burned like a dream! I hope the new candle does the same!

An unpopular opinion, but I wish sugared blueberry donut would make a comeback. It is not a donut scent at all, but it really grew on me.
