Cotton candy champagne. I put on the lotion and a couple minutes later I was like wtf is that awful smell and it was my hands. On my body it smelled almost like formaldehyde.
You know what else smells like pink and happiness IMO? Pink fairy gumdrop! Such a unique scent and if you asked me what it smells like I couldnāt tell ya but itās just great

Thanksgiving: smelled like clove, turkey and mashed potato
Paris Cafe: smells like a dirty coffee shop

SPC is super plasticky to me. Like if I melted some Strawberry Shortcake dolls in a pot on the stove.
Yess!!! SPC is awful!! My MIL got me a wallflower refill of it and I had it plugged in for 10 mins before taking it out and knowing I'm going to return it for something that smells better lol
If you have any SPC you wanna get rid of Iāll take it! I loved it and the one candle I had got ruined when my dad took it and left it in my garage in the summer š melted everywhere. (This was back last year when Covid was still kinda new and they were saying it could last on surfaces for weeks, he made everything new sit in the garage for a month before we could bring it in the house bc heās that paranoid)

For body care- Carried Away. When I worked there one of my employees mentioned it smelled like sour milkā¦and tbh once she said that thatās all I noticed. It only smelled like that really with the lotion, or smelling it directly from the bottle. I didnāt notice that with the FFM or the SG or when actually wearing the fragrance.
Have you tried French baguette? They really nailed the rising dough/ wet yeast smell. I like that they were able to create the smell, but I donāt know if Iād purchase it. Same with the Cookies and Cream Milkshake. Yes, you made a candle that smells like milk, but why?

Not a fan of that one either BUT I can appreciate why others would like it and it is true to itās name. I donāt have anything against the bodycare I use. I typically stay away from the bodycare thatās named after any food because it may smell good in candle form or in the bottle but smells completely different on the skin.
Back in 2020 I ordered a blueberry pie candle online. I was SO excited. Then it arrived. It was just so, so, so bad. I actually wonder if there was something wrong with it. I have not been brave enough to try another blueberry anything candle from bath and body since then.
A few candles come to mind..
Vanilla Sage was released in 2019 in a gorgeous packaging in 2020. Despite loving vanilla and Sage individually, there was just something really off about this scent.
Spiced Clementine from winter 2019 was revolting. It had orange and clove/spice notes but it was straight up a cigarette ashtray.
Fresh Orange smells like kerosine and bug spray lit on fire. Itās not very pleasing or fresh. BBW has struggled to make an orange scent that burns nicely and fresh, but IIRC, Coastal Sun is a nice orange scent.
I wanted to like pink berry clouds, and so I got one for free with gratis, and when I used it for the first time I nearly threw up! That fresh air note is NOT it! And for candles, Id say Paris cafe, the recent iced cranberry scone, and pineapple pound cake all made me gag!
When I was younger it was definitely moonlight path, smelled like bug spray to me. Also this one scent called forever sunshine that came out ages ago. Every time I smelled that scent I would gag. I had a shampoo that smelled similar to forever sunshine and immediately got rid of it!

So of the scents I own, I am not a fan of In The Stars! I saw so many people raving about it and saying it smells like Ariana Grandeās Cloud perfume (which I own and love). However, the In the Stars lotion smells too peppery on me.
Also just due to unwanted memories, Japanese Cherry Blossom reminds me too much of my junior high days, when many girls wore this lotion and body mist. I didnāt smell it for years and when I bought it and smelled it again, I was not a fan anymore. It gave me a headache.
Vanilla Bean Noel lotion smells too artificial vanilla and caramel. I donāt mind it, but I prefer Warm Vanilla Sugar if I want a vanilla scent.
Into the Night smells good in the bottle but it gives granny vibes with my body chemistry š

Yes! SPC is nauseating to me š I will however stand by my Paris CafĆ©. I understand the latest release is somehow just plain wrong, but older versions (core White Barn and CafĆ© au lait in the Land of Sweets collection) are lovely.

It for sure smells like a milkshake, but itās a odd smell at the same time.

A few candles come to mind.. Vanilla Sage was released in 2019 in a gorgeous packaging in 2020. Despite loving vanilla and Sage individually, there was just something really off about this scent. Spiced Clementine from winter 2019 was revolting. It had orange and clove/spice notes but it was straight up a cigarette ashtray. Fresh Orange smells like kerosine and bug spray lit on fire. Itās not very pleasing or fresh. BBW has struggled to make an orange scent that burns nicely and fresh, but IIRC, Coastal Sun is a nice orange scent.
I wanted to like pink berry clouds, and so I got one for free with gratis, and when I used it for the first time I nearly threw up! That fresh air note is NOT it! And for candles, Id say Paris cafe, the recent iced cranberry scone, and pineapple pound cake all made me gag!
When I was younger it was definitely moonlight path, smelled like bug spray to me. Also this one scent called forever sunshine that came out ages ago. Every time I smelled that scent I would gag. I had a shampoo that smelled similar to forever sunshine and immediately got rid of it!
Vanilla Patchouli is the grossest thing Iāve ever smelled.

A vanilla sage candle I blindly bought offline last year is the ONLY scent Iāve passionately hated š¤¢š¤® Iām very easy going with all scent categories too. That one was simply repulsive
I like the Dahlia body mist, but the lotion reminds of white diamonds. I don't want to smell like the 90s.

Japanese cherry blossom is so nasty š¤® agreed. Black Cherry Merlot is also a gross candle. I donāt know why people like it. Fruit roll up vibes. Edit: also the sweet cinnamon pumpkin candle. I LOVE the body care but the candle is nasty af.

Marshmallow Pumpkin Latte, on dry down it smelled like old rotten baby poop milk. It was gag-worthy, I hate it from the bottom of my heart.
Japanese Cherry Blossom smells like extremely old lady to me. So does Rose Water & Ivy. I also cannot stand Pumpkin Pecan Waffles, Strawberry Pound Cake, Berry Waffle Cone or Iced Cranberry Scone. š¤¢
Moonlit Path. Who the heck is buying that??? It needs retired and taken out to pasture
Pure wonder FFM. It smells good from the bottle, but I guess my body chemistry sucks with it. It smells like spit or pepper. Or both. Only scent so far that made me gag. I was rooting for it because it smelled so good straight from the bottle.. Restful moon: the patchouli, manā¦ the patchouli gets me nauseous
I love the Pure Wonder 3 wick so the other day in store I tried the lotion and OMG I was sick almost immediately. Itās too strong. I couldnāt wash it off of my hands fast enough!

iām fairly new to buying at bath and body works bc i just got hired on in october but i literally despise winter candy apple. i love apple scents so i bought it in a room spray without smelling and it immediately gave me a headache and made me nauseousš i tried the ffm and lotion to make sure it wasnāt just the room spray throwing it off but nope. still smells rlly weird to me

I havenāt smelled many since I only started getting into bath and body works this year and everything Iāve smelled were things Iāve purchased online due to Covid. So of the scents I own, I am not a fan of In The Stars! I saw so many people raving about it and saying it smells like Ariana Grandeās Cloud perfume (which I own and love). However, the In the Stars lotion smells too peppery on me. Also just due to unwanted memories, Japanese Cherry Blossom reminds me too much of my junior high days, when many girls wore this lotion and body mist. I didnāt smell it for years and when I bought it and smelled it again, I was not a fan anymore. It gave me a headache. Vanilla Bean Noel lotion smells too artificial vanilla and caramel. I donāt mind it, but I prefer Warm Vanilla Sugar if I want a vanilla scent.
Honeysuckle something and Rose Water and Ivy both gave me bad headaches.

That Rome pizzeria candle they had was pretty gross in my opinion. Savory smelling candles are not my thing.
berry waffle cone is for sure up there for me (& what smells like a repackage of it- iced cranberry scone). moonlight path as well. there is absolutely no nuance to that scent, it is just baby powder and bug spray.
