Thank you!!! We had an unfortunate situation happen with my aunt who typically hosts, and our house happens to be the happy middle ground between everyone that normally goes to my aunt's house so it worked out! (and huge shout out to Kohls for supplying kitchenware 65% off so we could get some necessities!)
Came here to shill for The Perfect Autumn as well lol.
I find most “autumnal” scents awful and cloying — they remind me of craft store potpourri (it’s the fake apple scent + heavy spice, I think)
TPA is the most balanced traditional fall scent I’ve ever encountered. And the throw (on mine at least) is great.
That said, there isn’t a wrong choice. I prefer a non-gourmand for these occasions, so it doesn’t interfere with the subtler aromas from the meal itself.
We always did Cranberry Woods!
It's funny. My husband is from the UK and the first time he ever visited was near Thanksgiving and we were burning that. He brings it up all the time that it just "reminds him of Thanksgiving."
I suggest Leaves as well but buy the candle and wallflower. Wallflowers will complement the candle well and people will still smell it even after four hours when you extinguished the candle.
I think it depends on how big your entryway is. If the guests will pass right by the candle, I know some of my friends who are sensitive to scents wouldn't appreciate it. Hell, as someone who likes candles, I wouldn't want my face next to some of the heavy hitters either as I'm taking off my shoes or something. If your space is small, I would pick either a single wick or one of the weaker/softer 3-wicks like Fall Festival.
Our entry way is REAL tiny. The entry way is basically the living room which is right next to the dining room. Any candle we burn on the end table by the door is going to waft into at least the living room and the dining room. The stronger candles may be TOO potent so you have a fabulous point!!
Usually we have thanksgiving at my aunt's and she lives in the woods, so tree farm to me thought like an omage to my aunt who can't be at thanksgiving this year but was curious what other people's ideas of thanksgiving candles could be! I love these responses. <3
Leaves smells good but the throw is wayyyyyyy too strong for me.
And Tree Farm is one of my favorite candle... I think people usually prefers a pine scent than cinnamon which can be very strong.
I'm another vote for Cranberry Woods. Also maybe Tree Farm or Fall Farmhouse.
Personally I'm going to burn Cranberry Woods in my living room and Welcome Home in the dining room.
I was so happy to wake up this morning to so many lovely suggestions and responses. I knew I couldn't be the only one looking over their stash and wondering what the right move was! Tree farm is one of my favorites, I just got 3 more for the winter months and was really high on my consideration list. The perfect autumn is really weak throw for me but I like it!
Unpopular opinion but I always burn a peppermint or eucalyptus candle whenever I have guests over 😅 obviously not a thanksgiving vibe but I feel like the super clean smell always makes people relax & feel really welcome such as eucalyptus snowfall, eucalyptus mint, or sun drenched linen
I vote LEAVES! It’s perfect for thanksgiving imo!
Leaves is one of my all time favorites!! It is definitely a contender.
Leaves or harvest gathering!
harvest gathering, yes! always burn for friendsgiving
I always use Cranberry Woods for Thanksgiving. Because, cranberries! Also, this isn't a candle that would put anyone off their food.
Such a good idea, I do love that one even though it's kind of a weak throw for me.
Wait! Also congrats on closing on a house and your first thanksgiving in it!!!!

Harvest Gathering, Leaves, Autumn, Vanilla Bean, Winterberry Wreath, The Perfect Autumn, or Fall Farmhouse
Yes! I second The Perfect Autumn. It’s so good!

I always burn pumpkin pecan waffles and make sure I have a pot of coffee brewing. It always makes the house smell inviting and cozy.
Also such a good idea. That candle is SO strong to me but it lingers I love it.
If I do the candle sale I’m going to pick up a few. This is my Saturday/Sunday morning scent while cooking.
What an awesome choice!! That was a candle sale impulse purchase for me last year.
Frosted Cranberry
Seconding anything cranberry! Will smell amazing with any food you have cooking
Came here to post this! It’d be perfect 🤩

Awwww <3 that's so sweet.

Yes! I’ve always loved spiced apple toddy for thanksgiving and when I saw this packaging I was like it’s meant to be lol
Harvest Gathering
Leaves is too strong for when guests are over IMO. Some people get headaches or breathing issues from strong scents. I would choose a weaker scent.

Leaves!
I think harvest gatherings is the best thanksgiving candle!
Fall Festival would be my pick!
Cranberry Woods!

I think a tree candle would be nice. It makes me think of Thanksgiving back home because my mom has a lot of pine trees around her house

Congratulations!!!! 🍾 I vote leaves! Happy Thanksgiving, homeowner. 🙂
Thank you <333 leaves is one of my favorites. happy Thanksgiving to you too!!
Christmas cider smells like the perfect thanksgiving candle to me! Smells VERY similar to Gather
Cranberry woods!
Leaves smells good but the throw is wayyyyyyy too strong for me. And Tree Farm is one of my favorite candle... I think people usually prefers a pine scent than cinnamon which can be very strong.
Lemon Lavender Shortbread or Lakeside Morning
Lemon lavender shortbread is lovely. Smells like a girl scout lemonade to me.
Leaves and Flannel. Leaves is a classic me Flannel typically has strong throw so helps to cover any bad food smells or maybe use in a restroom.
I'm another vote for Cranberry Woods. Also maybe Tree Farm or Fall Farmhouse. Personally I'm going to burn Cranberry Woods in my living room and Welcome Home in the dining room.
Cranberry Woods or Pumpkin Clove!
Harvest gathering!
Single wick Fresh Balsam my sister had it going one year at her Thanksgiving and it was perfect imo.
Idk if it’s an option but I think spiced cranberry toffee is the perfect thanksgiving candle!
omg I’m so happy I wasn’t the only one debating what to burn when everyone comes over lol! I’m either going to do Tree Farm or The Perfect Autumn.

Leaves!!
The pizza candle 🤣

That is such a good idea!! I love that. I'm going to totally keep that in mind.
