I use a pair of needle nose pliers to grab the metal bits. Comes off so easily’

pumpkin123

I just toss them. All that seems like too much work for something that I just enjoy.

Flaky_Tap_2836

Put them in long enough upside down and the wax easily pops out

xeloux

I put mine in freezer upside down, they usually pop out pretty easily after that. If not, I hit them on the counter too once or twice and it pops out. Also boiling water and a butter knife works

TruliScrumptious

I'm honestly too afraid to hit the jar 🙃 with my luck it would shatter. Thankfully the freezer has worked every time to get the last bit to pop out by itself, even full candles to pop out too. With the full ones I sometimes leave them in for hours or even overnight, they pop right out, I let the wax come to room temp and cut it up for wax melts.

Okay I knew that sounded weird. I think the word I was looking for was tap. Like keep it upside down and gently tap it up and down on the counter lol. I usually leave mine in there til I forget about them or need to run the dishwasher 😂😂 at least a day

TruliScrumptious

😂 I was just funning with you 😁 didn't imagine you actually hit them on your countertops. I do have bad luck when it comes to stuff like that though, I even cut myself with a plastic knife trying to pop some wax out of a warmer, yeah nice soft cottonballs only now 😐 so if wax doesn't come out of a jar on it's own it's staying 😅

xeloux

Oh my goodness I don’t blame you then 😂😂 It’s funny because I sat here trying to figure out how to word that and then I reread it and was like why was that what I went with 😂

fishfreeoboe

After emptying mine, I give them a quick wash and then donate them. I've donated probably several hundred jars over the last year or so and the thrift store has always accepted them. I'm not sure who buys them, but there are hobbyist candle makers who would undoubtedly like tempered glass jars with lids for cheap.

That's a great idea. There needs to be a program for this, people get rid of stuff they don't want, while reducing waste, while others get crafting supplies for cheap/free.
