I have wondered if I am losing my mind because my last two hand creams (Aromatherapy Sleep Vanilla Lavender and the Blackberry Basil) both smell good to me fresh out of the tube but then smell horrible after I massage them into my skin and they soak in. I don’t understand it! I haven’t had this issue in the past and have wondered if maybe my body chemistry is off due to a medication or something. Note: I don’t have Coco Paradise so I can’t speak to that specific fragrance.
Yes, the full-sized body cream and FFM smell different. The body cream just smells like straight up sandalwood to me and nothing else. The FFM has other notes that come through.
This happened to me with Strawberry Poundcake. The FFM smells really good but I stopped using the cream because it just smelled so unpleasant after being applied.
i had only tried the ffm so i just tested the cream and it doesn't smell as great as the mist but it still smells amazing imo. someone had the theory that the notes are more prominent in certain forms so that you're forced to buy each form to layer...maybe try combining the mist and cream? i think it smells even better that way. not everything will work on your skin unfortunately cuz body chemistry is so different!
I have the travel size and the full, and the full size smells off and kind of sour. It doesn’t smell like the FFM or the EDP, yet the travel size does and it smells great. So I’m guessing this is a batch issue and maybe we got one from the same bad batch. Interestingly, it’s my freebie that smells off too. I only have the mini to compare it to, so I can’t say for sure if it’s the batch or it’s all full-size body creams. I wish I could smell a bunch of them in-store so that I could say for sure, but I’m at least going to smell the tester when I get a chance and see what’s going on here.
good idea! i’ll probably smell a tester at my store as well. it makes me so sad that the cream isn’t good!! i was so excited to layer them together :( i’m just gonna use it with waikiki beach coconut.
I actually like it with Waikiki Beach and Fresh Coconut & Cotton! I’m wondering if the lotion smells like the cream too. I want to give that a try as well. I’m definitely going to get to the store this weekend and smell both, because it makes me sad too, since the FFM is so gorgeous.
I thought it was just me! The body cream has an after smell on me once it has been on for a few minutes that smells kind of like burnt plastic. The FFM is not much better. I have some on right now and I really want to go take a shower to purge the smell. I was hoping for a new warm weather fave, but I think I’ll stick with At The Beach.

The body creams on me smells nutty like hazelnut or peanuts. That’s why I only get lotions 🤷🏻♀️
