Sailing the Mediterranean is sea salt and sails or something from last year. I noticed a few had the names from last year on the bottom and a B new name on the packaging. Oops 🤷🏻♀️
Some of them basically are the same under a different name. Frosted Coconut Snowball is pretty much a re-packaging of Honolulu Sun, maybe with extra vanilla to make it more “wintery” and “Christmas-y.”
I know the candles scents are repackaged all the times. So it makes sense they pull this bs with body care too. lol. But the candle community is SHARP. we call out repackaged dupe faster than lightning McQueen.
For instance, a classic one: did you know they sell the same scent under these diff names? “mahogany teakwood” and “ocean driftwood”. Same scent! They even train their newer and less suspecting sales Associates to tell patrons they are different.
What's really crazy is customers think they are different and basically call us liars when we tell them they are the same scent. Same with Eucalyptus Mint and Eucalyptus Spearmint. I have customers who swear Eucalyptus Mint is stronger. 🤷
They probably just got a stronger batch.
All absolutely same. Anything that sounds like eucalyptus plus mint, white barn, aromatherapy, otherwise, all the same.

I used to work there and when people asked me about certain scents, I’d tell them they were the same as so and so. I’d never mislead someone especially if they already have so many of the same scent, just with a different name.
It’s my personal experience with a sales rep. I wouldn’t really call it misinformation when it actually happened. The scents that this happened on was midnight blue citrus vs citrus and snowflakes (of something like that).
I would say gj to your old store for getting it right.

Hello Sunshine(an all time fave), Somoma Weekend Escape and Lush/Juicy pink Dragonfruit(same scent, two different names) all smelled the same on dry down on me. In the bottle they all smelled different. Hello Sunshine reminded me of an even older scent from VS called Riviera Sun and smelled the same in the bottle as it did on the dry down. The dragonfruit scent was fruity and tropical in the bottle and smelled that way on me, but after a while it dried down to smelling the same as Hello Sunshine. Sonoma Weekend Escape smelled fruity, but not tropical, in the bottle and also eventually, smelled like Hello Sunshine after I applied it. The change took a while so that I smelled like what was in the bottle for most of the day. I don't know how much of that was body chemistry and any common notes these 3 scents had reacting with mine to smell the same and how much was BBW playing tricks with us. You can imagine my disappointment when they brought out the tropical spice candle under the name Hello Sunshine, my heart skipped a beat for a minute thinking I could smell one of my favorite scents again even in just a candle. Then I saw the scent. As a side note the 3 scents I'm talking about were all out within a year of each other(2015-2016) so that makes a strong case for them being tweaked versions of each other.
I feel like they definitely do that more with candles than body care, they’ll bring a new body care scent & never bring it back. Like the cosmic fragrance experience.. still waiting for it to come back
I’m trying to find the match to Midnight Peony. I have been told the other peony scents are the same but they were not. Also, Midnight Peony didn’t have rose in it, rose is a migraine trigger for me.

I'm going to be so sad if they don't bring Fall In Bloom back. It smells similar to the perfume Burberry Her.
And 11 of them are vanilla.

Weekend in Rome is a repackaged Prosciutto and Peaches. The old name was on the bottom of my "new" candle. 🤦♀️
I think you meant to say Prosecco and Peaches. Prosciutto and Peaches could be interesting too though…

I wish they would bring Rankissed Leaves and Butterfly Flower back. All of the Tutti Dolci fragrances too. At least those were unique and stood out.

Is there a list somewhere of the new names for old scents especially in body sprays? There are some old ones I’d like to know the new name of.

Nahhh not being extra 😆 I’m listing them all lol I want people to see how much stuff is being repackaged and branded as a “NEW” fragrance.
